I think the point of Science is more so trying to tell the importance of spirituality, the "most potent element of human existence." The song is clearly written by Serj who says his beliefs are based on Native American and Buddhist ideas. Dude probably doesn't have a hard-on for science, but I wouldn't call him anti-science like a religious nut would be.
That said, a song on the same album, ATWA, was written from Daron's infatuation with Charles Manson which I find to be the biggest offender of any SOAD song. Most of SOAD's songs smack, but there are absolutely some dumb ones written. Most I'd attribute to Daron because Daron is pretty dumb in a lot of areas.

In this case, it's comparing it to the likes of those hardcore sites that literally force the female performers to fellate in such a manner that they're choking until they puke.

If you want to go with the definition that sodomy is strictly anal sex, then I'm afraid that straight people can sodomise just as much.
I've always thought that sodomy is just whatever sexual acts are prohibited or at the very least frowned upon. So that can be oral, anal, sex with animals, etc.
You could even interpret as ironic usage because it's usually conservatives who are concerned with sodomy and violence, while it's channels such as Fox News that greatly sensationalise violence. It was written in the time of Iraq and Afghanistan. 24/7 news coverage of bombings and war.
Daron's an introvert that mostly makes music and keeps to himself and while he's not Einstein(though I think he's a brilliant songwriter), I see no fucking way he sides with John on any of this.

Yea, I can't really see him siding this John here, though in recent Scars interviews he does admit to being a gun owner and "not hating Trump as much as everyone else" which definitely irritated me.

My friends and I had dinner in a shitty midnight diner in TN with the drummer back in 1998 after a show. They opened for Fear Factory in a club so small that held maybe 300 people standing room only. I believe Clutch was on the ticket as well. He was nice but quiet. He kind of sat back and laughed at all our antics the whole time. At the end of the meal, he put a bunch of gross stuff on a piece of toast and told one of my friends that if he ate it, he would pay for everyone's dinner. My friend ate it and dude kept his word.
