A Note
Back in the days of GAF, I made the thread for Season 5 of Supernatural. I never imagined that the show would go another decade and that I would end up making the thread for the final season in 2019.

This show means the world to me. I watched it from the day it premiered in 2005. I rewatched it again in 2010 to get my mother caught up before season 6 began. I rewatched it in full again in 2017, up through season 12, with my partner MUFFIN. To say the show holds a very special place in my heart would be an understatement. This is going to be an emotional final season and I'm excited to share it with everyone here on Era.

Thanks for the memories, Supernatural. Let's go out with a bang.

One of my all-time favorite shows. 15 years is a hell of a run and yet I am still sad to see it go. I've spent nearly half my life with these characters and this world that I feel like I will always want more. The last few seasons have been kind of meh though as far as main story arcs go which has inspired the actors to decide to move on.

I am hearing that they are open to coming back for more sometime in the future so I guess anything is possible in that regard.

That was a powerful and emotional trailer. Genuinely got sad watching it. I'm surprised it lasted for so long and am sad it's coming to an end. It has been an incredible journey with the Winchesters.

Still think they basically character assassinated Chuck. He was written completely different in the last finale and acted out of character. At least it sets up an interesting premise I suppose.

I've definitely not kept my distaste for the recent years of the show a secret, but I'll be paying attention to this season. It's going to be a lot like saying goodbye to a friend I used to have a great time with but I've grown apart from. This is going to be such a bittersweet season. To think it's been over 14 years since it first started, I still remember my uncle watching it and getting me to check out the show during the first season, I wish he was still here to see how it ends.

seriously. I started watching Buffy probably around the first few episodes of Season two in Fall 1997. The Dawson's Creek when that debuted. And so on. So it'll be about a 23 year run for me, but after Supernatural there's nothing for me and probably won't be again. I loved Crazy Ex GF but that's over now too.

Among many other things, I'll miss their names when they pretend to be FBI agents etc. and introduce themselves.

It's amazing to think this is one of the longest running shows ever. If you look at the shows airing in the 90's onward (to exclude the likes of Gunsmoke, Lassie, Bonanza from a different era), and then exclude the Law and Order procedurals and Simpsons, there's basically NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, and not much else over 300 episodes.

Hmm, I think I was expecting a little more out of the first episode.

But what about the mysterious clue of the lingering shot of the high school, you're probably asking?

Well, the episode was called Back and to the Future. That "Future" part is important.

You see, the high school was John C. Harlan high school. Who was he? Well, an author who only wrote one novel.

It was a sci-fi novel called Zwingo in the 34th Century. See, there's your future connection.

Now we if we examin- *suffers a stroke*

Anyone else feel like the SFX is really...bad? The girl scratching her face off was awful SFX and the blood on the walls of the clown house looked more like paint.

I do like the trip down memory lane with all the ghosts they've sent back to hell

Edit: The split-second flash back to 15 years ago, that was really great.
