I was cleaning out some bookmarks and found this stage listing from the game's code https://hastebin.com/kakebenili.css . I noticed all the codenames and thought it'd be neat to have them all in one spot? Some of them are interesting, I think.

It's a bit surprising the 2 boxing Rings are, internally, 2 separate stages.
And laughing a bit at Brinstar being "ZebesDX" while Corneria is still Corneria

And laughing a bit at Brinstar being "ZebesDX" while Corneria is still Corneria

This is probably because Brinstar is an evolved variation on Zebes from 64, including the visuals, while "Sector Z DX" wouldn't have worked as internal name for Corneria because it uses an entirely different background, and that could have led to confusion.

The Japanese guide is out, so if anyone is interested in the official names of certain attacks just ask.

I don't see what confusion would happen from the internal name being SectorDX. Sector Z has never been brought back and Coneria is still its evolved form.

Well, not like it matters anyway. Just funny how some of the names are so blatant and others aren't.

Some of the names makes me think the planning stage just had "we'll have a stage from X game" and they worked out the details later. RBF being "Uprising" comes to mind.

Kind of curious about Lucario's & Inklings.

I just played one of the angel-ish stages (think it was a Kid Icarus one) and I swear to god I heard something that was exactly like Nier Automata music and I can't find it again. Anyone know what it might be?

Is the Wavebird suitable for Smash? I feel like $25 is a pretty good deal for one, especially if I still have a Gamecube...

Apparently its a thing people do to get easy wins and put some of their characters into elite smash, yet another reason to hate gsp
GSP is just a rank. People playing stupid rules because they find it easier to get wins is going to happen regardless of what system the game uses. They'll spend most of their time matching against people with similar rules, but sometimes the MM system shits itself. The matchmaking algorithm still needs adjustments-- every game that had a basic, standard system still usually has a beta, which Ultimate didn't.

Era -> Internet -> Era, hahah. It was bound to to happen to me eventually; I had a good run. :)

So I'm assuming this was ironic / not actually legitimate? Don't tell me it was made precisely to mock him... :D

It's legit apparently since few members actually complained about certain characters so he probably tried to make everyone happy.

Do all the echoes have the same attack names? barring moves that are literally different, of course.

Smash 4's DLC is not at all comparable with Ultimate's. Smash 4 had the veteran DLC, and we also didn't have a tangible number for how many DLC characters we would get, or the target date for it to conclude.

They can do balancing and working on simultaneously and still release them set apart. Nothing is stopping them from finishing or just about finishing all 5 characters and then releasing them one by one.

So you think Nintendo is using this target date just as a decoy to lie to us and spread the DLC out over more than a year?
Because this argument implies that the delay already is planned, and the target date is pulled out of their asses.

Sorry, my comment was mean-spirited. It's just that it doesn't make sense to hold back on characters if they're ready (because of dataminers, and how easy it is to look through code), or if characters aren't ready, there will be the inevitable delay.

It's not that they pull a date out of their asses, it's that it's just an estimation. This is only the second Smash game for which they're doing DLC, and video game development for any project isn't linear. Like any job, you work in a team, you face setbacks, you're waiting on someone else to finish their job, so you can start yours (especially game dev). If you're lucky, or everything goes well, you even finish earlier than expected. So I always approach release dates and the like with skepticism (even for something as small as DLC). In short, I don't know anything more than what you know.

And hey, if every Fighter Pack ends up releasing every 2.5 months like you're estimating, then I'll be happy I'm wrong, because we all get regular content drops which is cool.

Wednesday at two? That's faster than I anticipated. Maybe all they got is better support for FW 7.0.0 languages.

Finished all the Challenges today! :D Surprised there wasn't a milestone message for it.

Only had to hammer a couple of the silly online ones (play 200 games etc) I didn't want to do because I have little-to-no interest in playing 1v1, no items, final destination type games - and thats all I seem to get. Zzz, thats not Smash Bros. to me.

Did all the rest of them legit and had lots of fun doing it!

Now to clean up the last few Spirits I need, just need to summon 12 more and I've got them all! But by the looks of it I need to sacrifice my original Fire Man spirit that I don't want to do. :(

I have a few replays to save, so I should probably get around to that now.

EDIT: Looks like we also have the next Spirit Board event theme: it's Mega Man! This is our first third-party event, right?

I had a great day two days. Got paired with a terrible partner who self destructed twice in a single match and I still won despite having to finish the match 1 v 2. I was so fucking pumped.

That said, I played yesterday and had one of my worst days ever. Tanked my GSP with 3 characters.
