I played a bit of the PSP version because my friend worked for the localization, but I don't remember anything about it.
Finally, Dark Pit on... um... nevermind.
Disgaea is one of those series I associate with certain people I interacted at certain timeperiods of my life. Back when I was doing a preparatory course for college, a friend of mine was addicted on anything Disgaea. But the only thing I really enjoyed (that he presented to me) was the Prinny games
It ultimately depends on what you're looking for. If you find a good chunk of the characters appealing to you, then go for it.

And eh, people are being a bit too harsh on Papagenos. He absolutely means well, and while I'm not a fan of his lame Gonintendo approach of covering anything everything under the sun, but he is definitely not deserving of whatever shit Sabi's crew is throwing at him.

Not sure, but I'm pretty sure their latest game flopped everywhere and their Disgaea Mobile launch didn't go well, so they must not be in a good position.
Level-5 is a case of wasted potential and continuing to piss away good opportunities that come their way with bad choices. Nippon Ichi are just looking for another lucky break, seemingly getting by mostly via publishing and making budget games. Disgaea 5 Complete did well for them at least, the PS4 version sold pretty poorly but the Switch version that came out later sold 200k in the west alone.
