I'm aware and checked when I saw. Though I was avoiding naming names, I guess I should've tried a little harder than "them" since that's easy to read as a large group than one or two people. Seems at least the original person apologized though, so eh, water under the bridge.
In any case, this seems a good a time as any to repeat one of my most wanted characters for Smash, the original RPG heroine, designed by one of the women with the longest careers in the medium, and protagonist that's appeared in every generation and nearly every game in the series for 34 years, Alis Landale.

The real interesting thing about Sonic 2's demo tracks is that you can really tell some of these tracks got shuffled around to different stages during development (even more obvious with these than the final in-game renditions). For example:
Oil Ocean Zone (AKA Sand Shower Zone) really lays it on thick with that typical video game desert sound. Even the Mega Drive rendition still sounds that way.
Mystic Cave Zone 2P (AKA Hidden Palace Zone) has a lot more of a prehistoric feel in the original demo, especially thanks to those drums, which were really lost in the Mega Drive conversion. That makes sense, since Hidden Palace has some dinosaur badniks in it, and was seemingly a past stage in the early planning stages when Sonic 2 was focused around time travel.

Vtubers as a general societal thing are definitely ripe for discussion. To my knowledge, a lot of the people that do it do it because it affords them anonymity, while they can still be themselves to the extent that they're comfortable. While there's some industry behind it, and there are potentially exploitive aspects tied to that, at its most basic level, it's no different than streaming, but with an avatar in place of a face cam, which is perfectly fine.

This is as good as a time as any for a swerve to my totally awful theory: would you agree that FDS LoZ1 sound effects feel like they belong in a sci-fi game rather than a fantasy one?
Phantasy Star is oft overshadowed in these threads by other Sega franchises. 😭

I didn't look at the hands until you said that, and oh my lord that looks hideous.
People are getting pretty ambitious with Mii Fighter mods. The head is so comically oversized though, lmao. If they had been a bit more reserved, and it wasn't a recording of a screen from somebody's phone it might actually be believable.
Feels like it was only yesterday when people were trying to argue the Cacomallow costumes couldn't have been modded

Alis Landale is referenced and has even had some appearance in the Online era, not counting that abysmal design that's technically a different character because of some dimensional BS in PSO2.
Online wouldn't be a bad choice either, since it's also a landmark game that created a subgenre and was the first Online RPG for home consoles in general. Its central character, Rico Tyrell, also managing to appear in the Universe games and having a much smaller PSO2 cameo. Outside Rico, I guess the most celebrated characters are probably the RAcaseal, HUnewearl, and FOnewearl though... Actually, a Newman character using claws, knives, and magic could reasonably represent both halves of the series. Rika/Sue/Nei/Karen Erra maybe? If Sue got to be the face, it'd give us a woman of color on the character select screen too.

Yeah this thread doesn't even have rails most of the time. Smash Rule 34 is probably more topical than most of the topics in this thread
