Here's a mix of how I think and hope the E3 direct will go
- Opens with a 2D DK trailer, comes out September, takes 2-3 minutes
- 1 minute spent on an intro with Doug Bowser
- 2 minutes spent on a new Monkey Ball announcement. Dated early 2022.
- 2 minutes spent on Bayonetta 3. Coming 2022.
- 6 minutes spent on Metroid. There's a short intro, leads into Metroid 5 developed by Mercury Steam, comes out October. Then Samus in fortnite, comes out after the direct. Then just a mention of MP4 like with Bayonetta 3 after Astral Chain.
- 3 minutes spent on Splatoon 3. They show the new main duo and some of the single player. It's more story based and ambitious than 1 and 2, has some exploration elements. They'll play through an area in the treehouse. It gets dated for spring or summer 2022
- 3 minutes spent on SMT V, it'll come out in November.
- There's a 2 minute Pokemon Legends trailer that reveals little new. They cut back to Doug Bowser. He mentions BDSP coming out this fall.
- 2 minutes spent on Project Triangle Strategy. Not much new info.
- 2 minutes spent on another Fire Emblem Echoes game. It'll be one of 3-6. Comes out October.
- 2 minutes spent on Hyrule Warriors DLC pack 1.
- 2-3 minutes spent on NMH3.
- 4 minutes spent on Smash. They reveal one new character, it's Lloyd Irving. Then they cut to Sakurai who just talks about how the character will come out in July and the DLC is coming to a close. No 3rd pass or second character.
- 3 minute sizzle real. Has Mario Golf, Skyward Sword, and upcoming third party games like Neo TWEWY, MH Stories 2 and the Great Ace Attorney collection. They'll probably reveal a couple more ports in it.
This is where the end starts. They go for a double or triple reveal.
- 2 minutes spent on a new Monolithsoft game. It isn't Xenoblade. It's an action RPG. It gets dated for 2021 and will get a December release date in the September direct.
- 3 minutes spent on BotW2. It gets a full trailer and name, and either a release date of November 2021 or March/Spring 2022.
- If the release date is 2021 the direct ends on it. Otherwise, it ends with a teaser for Mario Kart 9 or Odyssey 2 dated 2022.
Then treehouse has 5 or 6 segments. BotW2, DK, Metroid, Fire Emblem, Monolithsoft, maybe Smash DLC or Pokemon. As it's only 3 hours and is presumably being done online by Nintendo employees, I suspect it'll be all first party.
