Z = Zebra, 2 = Dos Equis, 22 = Catch.
Drinking a Dos Equis whilst riding a zebra? Catch-22.
If the rumours are true, they're doing both and have expanded EPD 8 to be capable of doing both. This is true, but also Mario is Mario. Nintendo hasn't really seemed too worried about Mario fatigue before.
If I were Nintendo, I'd think it made more sense to make a sequel to the 20M-selling SMO before spending a similar amount of resources to make, say, a 3D Donkey Kong game.
Devolver was on point with their last show.Same. "Fans" these days feed of hype cycles it seems. As soon as something releases theyre looking for the next hype train to jump on.
do you expect botw2 to be re-revealed in a fall direct then? or january even?OK. It's not "new" but it's a $60 Zelda game they want to sell with Amiibo and Joy-Cons. And obviously a lot of BotW players didn't play it, and would give it a chance since they're hungry for more Zelda. To announce BotW2 is coming this year, a month before SS:HD kinda defeats the purpose. They wouldn't have planned SS:HD this way if BotW2 was coming in 2021.
We ain't seeing games at 4K/60, sorry. Even with DLSS. I think Nintendo will mostly prioritize resolution over framerate too. In other words, I do not expect to see BOTW at 60fps.My prediction:
-Nintendo unveils the updated model Switch, and pushes the current software with better fidelity. The big push will be BoTW running at 4K/60FPS and 60FPS on handheld mode.
-Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be announced for the Switch, coming later this summer.
-A handful of games are going to be pushed with better fidelity, including 4K updates on Nintendo first party titles, we'll see Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition with patches that handles 60FPS, Age of Calamity with a 60FPS patch, etc.
-Splatoon 3 will be the holiday title.
So let's say 20 minutes. That's roughly 9-10 games. Damn not much at all.in 2019, each segment was roughly 30 minutes for first party games; animal crossing, luigi's mansion, pokemon, fire emblem, and link's awakening all got one that length. 10 minutes per game seems far too short imo
Man, this thread moves fast! :)We ain't seeing games at 4K/60, sorry. Even with DLSS. I think Nintendo will mostly prioritize resolution over framerate too. In other words, I do not expect to see BOTW at 60fps.
Also, we already know Splatoon 3 is next year?
Thanks. <3 Yeah, that makes sense. I'm stoked but so clueless about what we'll be seeing once we're in there. I know several of us at RPGFan are hoping for developer interviews of some sort, even if it's not for any of the major studios. It'd still be cool!
you're right
I'm not expecting Zelda Botw2 this Year either but... who is that? Some reliable Insider? Never heard of him.
This is clearly the only logical conclusion.Z=Zebes, 2 = 2022, 2+2=4
Metroid Prime 4 coming 2022
(Sorry Boz, I don't make the rules)
Splatoon 3 is a confirmed 2022 game.My prediction:

Iirc he wrote about it in two or three articles back on Kotaku.
That's right but New Nintendo Switch will
Yep in 2019 the media saw the direct several days in advance of the public showing...of course it all leaked...but nintendo was sneaky and didnt include the BOTW2 trailer at the end for the media..so that was a surprise. They do? This is my first year signing on as media, and to be honest, I'm excited but I have little idea what to expect -- especially given the digital format. But that makes sense. Damn, I'm gonna have to vanish from this thread soon if so.
(But also, yeah, I'd be surprised if the Pro announcement doesn't happen until next week for sure.)
I wanna say NIS, Sega, Koei Tecmo, and Bandai Namco are very accomodating for things like that! Hopefully they'll offer digital interviews etc. but it's so confusing as to what the app'll even be like.
Bit of a shame you'll miss out on all of the silly freebies, though. I still have a hat of the dog from Valkyria Chronicles 4 from when I went. Hopefully you'll be able to go in-person next year, it's a fun time.
I almost agree with you that it might basically be first party games. I do do expect Mario + Rabbids 2 to be announced at Ubisoft's Direct and have a gameplay segment in the Treehousehopefully there's a decent selection at least. i don't think they would bother with such a short treehouse if they didn't have anything exciting to show off, but we'll see. i have a feeling it'll probably be exclusively first party titles

This tweet of his basically encapsulates his thoughts, I'd say:

The new Monolith Soft gameWhat's the ONE game y'all want to see 4K the most?
my gut says Mario odyssey, but if BOTW2 is2022, then definitely the original BOTW
Mario Kart 8D will look KILLER in 4k...its stunning at 1080pWhat's the ONE game y'all want to see 4K the most?

I know we're not going to see it until at least E3, but if I had to pick one game to see in 4k, it would be Metroid Prime 4What's the ONE game y'all want to see 4K the most?

Same. There are a ton of quality traditional and cliched JRPGs; I'm glad Octopath dared to be brave.
Please no. I'm fine with waiting for Breath of the Wild 2, but this is making me very not fine and wanting it now
Loved my time with it, too, even though I never made it to the real ending or to every character's ending chapter for that matter. The 80+ hours I've put into it were great, though. Love it.
Hot damn!! Absolutely beautiful.

I could see Donkey Kong being their 2021 holiday game and BOTW2 being March 2022.
I really hope BOTW2 is this year though.
