Soooo.... now are all doubting Zelda BotW2 will not be shown at E3 because it wasn't mentioned in the Tweet?
No.

Splatoon 3 is 2022 though.My prediction:
-Nintendo unveils the updated model Switch, and pushes the current software with better fidelity. The big push will be BoTW running at 4K/60FPS and 60FPS on handheld mode.
-Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be announced for the Switch, coming later this summer.
-A handful of games are going to be pushed with better fidelity, including 4K updates on Nintendo first party titles, we'll see Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition with patches that handles 60FPS, Age of Calamity with a 60FPS patch, etc.
-Splatoon 3 will be the holiday title.

You're all a bunch of negative ninny's. Botw 2 is coming out this year.
it would be pretty funny if the reason Breath of the Wild 2 isn't mentioned is because it'll be revealed part-and-parcel with the new Switch model to showcase its graphics
But the Switch Pro is obviously a lock because...Nintendo said it wouldn't be at E3Soooo.... now are all doubting Zelda BotW2 will not be shown at E3 because it wasn't mentioned in the Tweet? You and your patterns.
Ah, thanks for the clarification. I assumed you were making the point that because of BOTW 2's lack of mention / focus it wouldn't have any presence. Nice to see we're in the same boat! You're making my point for me! I'm not arguing Zelda won't be there. I'm arguing it won't launch this year or be a major part of the Direct.
I could actually see that happening, lol.it would be pretty funny if the reason Breath of the Wild 2 isn't mentioned is because it'll be revealed part-and-parcel with the new Switch model to showcase its graphics
In order from most to least likely:Ok folks, we've got two lists to think about. What's at Nintendo's E3, and what's not? (feel free to add any third-party titles you expect to feature in Nintendo's show)
Announced games
- Metroid Prime 4
- Bayonetta 3
- The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
- Pokemon Legends
- Splatoon 3
- Pikmin 4 (Miyamoto's slip counts, dammit)
Rumoured/possible games
- Donkey Kong (EPD)
- Xenoblade/new Monolith Soft title
- Kirby (HAL)
- 2D Metroid (Mercury Steam)
- Super Mario Odyssey 2
- 2D Mario
- Metroid Prime Trilogy HD
- Wind Waker HD
- Twilight Princess HD
- Fire Emblem
- EPD 9 game
Why is Odyssey 2 so low?In order from most to least likely:
- Pokemon Legends
- Splatoon 3
- 2D Metroid
- BOTW2
- Donkey Kong
- Kirby
- Xenoblade
- Fire Emblem
- WW/TP HD
- Pikmin 4
- Bayonetta 3
- 2D Mario
- Metroid Prime Trilogy
- Metroid Prime 4
- Super Mario Odyssey 2
Kelios retweeted images from a French retailer and suggested that it's likely to be annnounced tomorrow.
No Man's Sky updated to have DLSS........
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
(yeah that's coming to Switch Pro)
Nintendo seems to have reduced marketing cycles across the board, and Odyssey 2 is too big to be anything other than a holiday title. This E3 is also likely to be packed, so they don't need to tease it yet. The earliest I expect to see it would be September for a holiday 2022 release, but even then I am doubtful.
Naw. We're not getting a 15 minute segment on Zelda anniversary. The most it'll be will be 8 minutes.I expect Zelda to be treated similarly to Mario with his anniversary - we'll get a 15 min segment, starting with SSHD, moving onto some Zelda 35 style free online title maybe some merch or events info and then announcing WWHD + TPHD for the end of the year then finishing with a very brief BoTW2 trailer revealing the title and release date (early 2022) - we may also get something similar with Metroid
Hey man do what's best for you. Happy to have you swing back by but obviously do whatever is the best for your mental health and whatnot.oh yeah
that sounds fun lol
probably not coming back for a long time, if ever
just going back to my era roots for one last hardware related hype cycle then retiring from being the angry online man forever
sort of like how bob ross was a drill sergeant? I'm gonna go from angry internet arguer to some sort of woodland man
I'm not even gonna try to predict third party stuff. I am optimistic we'll see something cool, though.third party stuff:
-Mass effect remasters
-Tony Hawk (exclusive content maybe? think link on a skateboard, hyrule skate park, something like that)
-No man's sky
Mine would look like thisIn order from most to least likely:
- Pokemon Legends
- Splatoon 3
- 2D Metroid
- BOTW2
- Donkey Kong
- Kirby
- Xenoblade
- Fire Emblem
- WW/TP HD
- Pikmin 4
- Bayonetta 3
- 2D Mario
- Metroid Prime Trilogy
- Metroid Prime 4
- Super Mario Odyssey 2
If the Pro gets announced tomorrow this thread will finish by Friday. What are the odds this thread actually survives another two weeks?
Still people are still way negative about it and also is still built off BotW so anyway i say 2021 if not i will stand correctedI personally think people put way too much stock on the "it's built from BotW!" thing as for it leading to a shorter development time. It's the sequel to Breath of the Wild. Expectations are super high. They're clearly not going to rush out an iterative, expansion-pack sequel. If that's what they were doing, we would already be playing it by now.
Zelda games are known for growing more ambitious over development.
I think they planned on it being a 2021 release, showed an early teaser for it in 2019 because of 2020 being all about Mario, and then the pandemic happened.
Did they highlight in the last e3 direct or this year's feb direct?I'm excited they didn't highlight any specific software as the "spotlight"
2022 about to be deadly 👀
TBH my biggest actual prediction is "when the Switch Pro is announced we're getting a shocking number of ports of existing released games"I'm not even gonna try to predict third party stuff. I am optimistic we'll see something cool, though.

Everyone, quick, get ready for the Switch Pro announcement in 9 minutes!
The other thing to consider is timing. Mario just had a bunch of releases. In the last 9 months, we have seen all bar one of the old 3D Mario games appear on the Switch, plus a new mini adventure. I think they're gonna give the poor guy a break. That's something I've never really understood in this thread. I've long seen a SMO sequel as basically as inevitable as a BotW sequel was, but a lot of people seem to act like it's probably not going to happen.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if SMO2 releases before BotW2.

I think it's more that the wording seems haughty at times. Like "Oh you poor fools believing BoTW2 will launch in 2021"I don't think anyone should be so bothered by people saying BotW 2 is 2022. This isn't something new. Many people have believed BotW 2 is coming in 2022 for the longest. It's like you only want to hear people say BotW 2 is 2021 to make yourself happy.
Yeah. It'll be this week. Next week makes little sense.Argument against a next week announcement: E3 starts June 7th for the Media, Nintendo traditionally shows the direct to the Media during that time, if theres Pro stuff in there, it'll get leaked immediately. Therefore Nintendo will want to get that out before media week, and not step on another company's media week timeslot. So therefore, this week.
at least 1 hour of that will be BOTW2If Nintendo showcases 1 game for 10 minutes in the Treehouse then we'll get 18 games shown. Usually, in a normal treehouse the segments are about 15-20 minutes. So let's say the segments are 15 minutes then we'll see 12 games.

You're more bearish on Metroid than I thought you would be. I hope for your sake we see something!Mine would look like this
-Pokemon Legends
-Splatoon 3
-Breath of the Wild 2
-Kirby
-Donkey Kong
-2D Metroid
-Fire Emblem
-Xenoblade/Monolith new IP
-2D Mario
-Metroid Prime 4
-Metroid Prime Trilogy
-WW/TP HD
-Super Mario Odyssey 2
-Pikmin 4
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-Bayonetta 3 (we were literally told to forget about it lol)
+1. Also, we'll get a bunch of complaints from people that they're old games, and meanwhile I'll be stoked to be able to play all of these games on the Switch!TBH my biggest actual prediction is "when the Switch Pro is announced we're getting a shocking number of ports of existing released games"
