It's weird how they did two October games instead of an August game.

Metroid and Mario Party are probably finished at this point, either of them could have been August.

I'm surprised (but not really) that Nintendo let Fatal Frame go. I guess they might not publish any future games in the series anymore.

I refuse to believe that Metroid amiibos and Dread CE sold out instantly. There is no way :(

Okay so I finally watched the SMT V Japanese trailer and my god it SLAPS
Nate must be feeling content. Portugal won, and he no longer has to give reassurance about Metroid.

...was the Neat Thing™ revealed yet, or no?
Apparently it's something Bluetooth related...
Now a lot of people on social media are saying that everyone (including Bloomberg) was misled and that it's just Mariko with an OLED display & a simple 4K upscaler.
Who is saying that lol. Damn people are pessismists
OT 25 | No campaigns or other Nintendo General Discussion threads planned for ResetEra's 5th anniversary
That's actually quite good

So much to love, riding high off that direct rn :) crazy line-up considering it's mostly this year??

I've also stopped caring about a Switch Pro announcement. It'll be hype when they do announce it but now that we've got a great fall lineup confirmed they can take as much time as they want for new hardware

Will Metroid Dread be the best selling Metroid title? It needs to surpass the 2.73 million copies the original Metroid sold.

Pre-ordered the Metroid Dread special edition with the steel book but that Amiibo sold out in like 2 minutes :(

Gruntilda’s Lair
Got lucky and snatched the Metroid Amiibos, Dread Special Edition, and Zelda Game & Watch. Also got the Zelda joy cons a couple of months ago pre-ordered. If it wasn't for Wario64, I would have missed every single one of them.

That Direct was on the weaker side for me, in competition with E3 2017, 18 & 19 I'd probably rank it in last place, though not by a significant margin.

It was missing one big & exciting announcement/trailer for me- 2017 had XC2 & Odyssey, 2018 had Smash (yes I thoroughly enjoyed that screw the haters) and 2019 had LM3, LoZLA, Pokemon Sword Shield, 2 very exciting Smash announcements and BotW2 announced (which in hindsight wasn't as exciting but I couldn't really know at the time). Just as an example, if you'd have given me 1 or 2 of those games straight after their E3 trailers, I would have excitedly booted them up straight away, whereas (bar BotW2 which is obviously still far off) none of the games in that Direct have that same excitement, if I had them downloaded and unlocked on my Switch right now... I'd still watch France v Germany then go to bed lol.

But I can't be too mad/disappointed, there's a *ton* coming out within the next 6-12 months that were announced/highlited in this Direct, and some of course were not (looking forward to Splatoon 3 & Pokemon of course and we'll get more announcements in the coming months) and I am genuinely looking forward to Metroid Dread (even though clearly by my lack of enthusiasm I'm not a huge Metroid fan), Mario Party and the Advance Wars remakes (don't really agree with the graphics complaints, it looks good to me albeit I have no nostalgia for the series).

And yeah I've never played a Tekken game so that was a nothing pick for me. But that's still 7/10 DLC fighters that have excited me so, again, I can't be too disappointed. Hopefully it'll be 8/11 soon with the final pick.
Are you me? These are all my exact opinions.
pircross 3d round 3 shadow drop!

Oh man I have the feeling BOTW 2 will release in 2023. Aonuma said they aim for a 2022 release, that doesnt sound very promising.

I'm pretty happy with that? 8 out of 10? I think Microsoft may have delivered the "objective" (please note the quotation marks) best presentation this E3, but Nintendo's had more for me and wasn't far off in general.

my only disappointment was bayo 3 being a no show. other than that the direct exceeded my expectations. don't know why some insiders were trying to lower expectations, lol.

Why did we See a Donkey Kong screen with remixed Donkey Kong Sounds between the first two treehouse sections?
Was this a hint or did they even had planned to feature Donkey Kong but it wasn't ready in time to show up in the E3 Direct?!
Was it pushed back the last moment to be shown on a later date after the Treehouse segments had been finalized?!
Interesting indeed....

Yeah I feel the same way. Does anyone know if this music is original for this presentation? It hurts me to know Donkey Kong's 40th anniversery is less than a month away and not even a mention of DK at E3.

Im pretty satisfied! Warioware and Dangan Ronpa were deffo the highlights for me, plus HD Peach's Birthday Cake? Yes pls. I feel like I was pretty consistently engaged thru the direct the only big thing "missing" (that was within reason) I felt was an update for ACNH. I feel like we're gonna get a Pokemon Presents soon enough and maybe a direct in late summer/early September

NMH3 not being present at all makes me hope they at least turn up on the marketing on it in the next couple of months.

I guess it's like Wonderful 101, which Nintendo let Platinum publish themselves.

I'm feeling 3M for Metroid. It's positioned as a holiday title, it's gonna be decently big.

I wouldn't read too much into it but one thing that was odd is that the "one more thing" was missing, and it's been a LONG time since they haven't had that at the end of a Direct.

They also have very different emphases. Nintendo concentrated on the next six months and showed 2 games that are coming in 2022. Microsoft are still announcing games with CGI teasers and no release dates, and their biggest announcement was a November 2022 release.

Extremely pissed that my notifications didn't go off on either my phone or PC for your notification or for IGN deals, which I have turned on!!
I struck out too and I saw that tweet within two minutes of it going up. I'm hoping they throw more up for purchase soon

I would have been happy with at least just some Pokémon stuff. Didn't get that either 😭
Oh well I guess Metroid was cool to see.

I believe he said it was something to do with bluetooth headphone support, and it was kind of leaked but not announced, I think? Just from memory.
Apparently it's something Bluetooth related...

Ah yes, I recall the Korean post about some bluetooth headset that supports Switch, but I had assumed it was only related to the Switch Pro because it would require some additional hardware to support the extra BT bandwidth if it's also transmitting audio with minimal latency
