Seems to have really slowed down. Hopefully that helps with feature creep.

Yeah, Kickstarters do most of there numbers on the first few days, then they often have another biggish last day or so. I am actually quite pleased that we receive about a 100k today. If we keep getting over 50k a day (until the final 24-hour push) then that would put them in a very, very good place.

I anticipate it getting around 4 million when all is said and done. That would mean that it would easily be one of the top ten most successful Kickstarter games of all time.

I hope I can track it down someday.
That illustration makes me really happy.
Now if there was one of Tir and Kasumi happily ever after, I would be on cloud 9.
Sadly Tir won't have a happy ending. He is immortal because he has a complete true rune and it likes to eat Souls. Also by killing Wendy he killed the only person who knew how to remove a true rune against it's will.

If it follows the same pattern of other kickstarters I have followed it will be a slow and steady trickle until the final days where there will be a rush of people trying to get in at the last minute. There might be a few jumps here and there depending on stretch goals or if something makes it pop up on more people's radar. All that said I would bet they will close around 4 or 5 million give or take before the end.

I'm still laughing that Beyblade actually exists in this universe.

Also, did any popular streamers signal boosted this Kickstarter? Just wondering.

He's referring to this CG from Suikogaiden 2 Duel at Crystal Valley ;)

That is the next game on the docket!
I did know that there was a brief scene with them in it and I'm looking forward to seeing it!

That could never happen. Soul Eater would change fate so it could eat their soul.

Good points, both.
*sigh* I wonder if this means the Soul Eater will try to kill off
Gremio

It's really amazing that it's doing as well as it is considering the complete initial lack of attention from mainstream press and influencers.

To be fair, some game journalists were giving it some love. Schrier for sure did. So did Ben Moore (from the Easy Allies). So, it wasn't without any boosting, but it definitely was given substantially less than almost all the other games that achieved anything close to the success it has.

Honestly, it makes me so, so happy to realize that Suikoden is something that people care about. I would have never expected this kind of reception. I am so encouraged by all of this.

The success of this Kickstarter makes me wish that Konami would take notice and release a Suikoden collection for the current consoles and PC.

That person's fate was already changed once. Not sure how that stuff works since it was never expanded upon storywise.

We aren't primarily a streaming site, of course, nor are we by any means the biggest gaming site around. But our staff was (and is) ecstatic about this and made sure to get an article up about it ASAP.

They have never really talked about the limits of the true rune powers so we are not sure.

The wait for this game is going to be terrible. I wish it could be done faster but high quality pixel art takes a lot of time.

Ha, I hear you. I'm not even sure what the best strategy is going to be. Should I follow everything? Get a nice little dose of information every month... Or should I try to erase it from my mind?

It may drive me insane.

I'm hoping for an update a month just to check in. Also the next hidden stretch goal starts with real brass. Hopefully it's sound track related. I love having more unique music in the world.

Urgh.. Suikoden III is kicking my ass haha.
I don't remember it being this hard? Just in chapter 1 with Hugo and I've had a couple of fight where I've gotten absolutely wrecked already.
Had to put the game down for today after losing against those damn guards twice.

It would be interesting if "Real Brass" implied a live orchestration of the entire soundtrack, rather them using studio quality synths.

EDIT: In any case I just wrapped up my stream for Suikoden I but there was a few technical issues.

About half way in my headset microphone stopped completely working and all I got was the game footage and it's video, Still I got a good 4 hours into the game, there was some minor delays with me faffing about in the beginning trying to built my money from Marco in the Cup Mini-Game to shortcut getting my weapons to level 5 as early as possible.

I stopped at the point where you just get the Castle and name it. So when I start streaming again I'll be at a point in which I can start mass recruiting my army and more or less streamline through the game.

Regarding the physical edition. I don't see any mention of a "special" tier vrsion. Is it just the standard version with kickstarter benefits?

You aren't wrong that it has received a fair amount of press at this point, but you missed a few important words in the post you are replying to; Taka specified that it was impressive how well Eiyuden's Kickstarter did given the "initial lack of attention". The majority of the links you posted came after the Kickstarter was a success. There definitely were a few sites that gave the game attention beforehand, but the majority of major game sites only jumped on after it had blown way past its goal.

As spman2099 pointed out, all of that came after the Kickstarter was already a massive success. The project was announced days before that and got basically no coverage until it blew past its goal.

I'm one of those people who usually waits to back until the final 2-3 days unless there is some first 48 hours bonus. Even if I do plan to back from day 1 I like to avoid the barrage of stretch goal emails and be able to see the full package when I back.

Wondering, Will there be an injection of fresh backers if we hit the Korean localization goal? Did it happen when we hit the Chinese localization?

Most Kickstarters tend to be very front loaded in the first two to three days, then there is a big lull in the center with constant stream but small amount of pledges, and a moderate to large push towards the very end.

For example

We are still very early in Eiyuden Chronicle's funding campaign and the Kicktraq daily data shows a similar trend.

dailypledges.png

Keep in mind Kicktraq tracks based on a 24 Hour period. For the case of Eiyuden Chronicle it is still technically on it's 4th day of funding since it's campaign launched at 1AM JST / 12PM EDT / 9AM PDT.

Using Bloodstained as a point of comparison since it also asked for 500,000 for it's Initial Goal, same for Eiyuden Chronicle.
Bloodstained raised $998,027 in its first 24 Hour window, whereas Eiyuden Chronicle raised $1,300,629 in its first 24 Hours.

If you look at 2nd day trending numbers which Bloodstained did $661,529 and Eiyuden did $ 764,657. If the trend continues, Eiyuden Chronicle by the end of the campaign should pull similar numbers to that of Bloodstained which was 5.5 Million. We won't get a more accurate picture of the actual trending projection until at least the 10th day into Eiyuden's funding, but still things are still very positive.

Also for the sake of absolute clarity this is purely for point of comparison. We've already had one troll account with 6 posts to their name try to push to claim I was making this into a competition, when it's evident the point of me bringing up the numbers to show that Eiyuden Chronicle campaign doing well is good thing and has absolutely nothing to do with outdoing some other funding campaign, if that is the message one takes from this as well, it's simply not seeing the forest from the trees.

Honest Knight character huh. Hopefully that doesn't simply translate to being one of those naive and optimistic types. Still I do like characters like Alen, Grenseal, Miklotov, and Camus.

First of all, even though I cut a lot of it due to readability, thanks for the write up, this is probably a lot of people's first Kickstarter, so it needed to be laid out there.

Second, I think the Bloodstained comparisons might (and I wanna stress the might!) fall a bit flat due to multiple factors:
1. AFAIR Bloodstained was a surprise Kickstarter (please correct me on this if my memory failed me), unlike Eiyuden which was known beforehand. In my opinion, this reflects in the higher first and second day pledges, while it already went slightly under the Bloodstained numbers on day 4
2. Bloodstained had a (relatively of course) consistently high number of backers even in the mid slump. Something not all KS have. So Eiyuden might get it's comfortable lead eaten up bit by bit in the next weeks.
3. Most important, Bloodstained had an absolutely insane finish and actually brought in more in it's last day than in it's first. Something which is also not a given for any big Kickstarter.

So while yes, Eiyuden might finish at Bloodstained numbers or even higher, it might as well fall short, by a lot. I'd say if we want to be bearish, 4 million is the really conservative number, and even if you want to be very bullish, 6.5 million is the absolute highest, even if they pull some kind of rabbit out of their hats. Personally, if I were a betting man (which I am not) I'd put it somewhere between 4.5 million and 5 million, probably more toward the 5 million side of things, when it's all said and done. Of course I hope to be way off and eat my words though.

I guess it depends how much they manage to get the word out there. The hardcore fanbase will always be there for any big KS, but getting eyes on a project can really push funding by a lot.

We won't get a more accurate picture of the actual trending projection until at least the 10th day into Eiyuden's funding, but still things are still very positive.
I most definitely agree with this. We will probably have a much better idea in a week.
