My brother took me to Gamestop when I was maybe 13 or 14. He wanted me to pick out a game for my birthday. He seemed to like playing games, but only with me. He was a decade older and kind of quit it personally with the SNES/Genesis/Turbografx we owned.
I gravitated towards a Lord of the Rings RPG on Gamecube for some reason, probably because I loved the books and the movies were recent enough.
My brother kept pushing me towards other stuff, including the Resident Evil collection. He seemed insistent on it for some reason; I was being obstinate for no discernable reason, and walked out with LOTR Generic RPG #234.
I grew bored of the game pretty quickly, and even though I pushed myself to try and play it, I caved and shelved it.
My brother committed suicide a few years after this, and though it sounds pretty stupid, I've thought about this stupid LoTR game every now and then and how I chose incorrectly.
