Beautiful Province of Quebec.
Those chase/run away from Zurks sequences are ruining the game a bit for me...whish they werent there.Got one trophy out of it at least lol.

Also missing 1 memory in the Slums...can we go back there after the sewers ?

Pros:
- Chill gameplay and doing cat stuff is great.

Cons:
- I wish it were a bit more rpg:ish. Like having an inventory on the middle button for example / make doing cat stuff impact your gameplay: Scratch your claws to get more attack power against the zurks / sleep to improve stammina like jump height and speed / cuddle to add more health.
- Do not like the droid at all, it was better when it was just you by yourself and besides, the droid is in the way of your view.
- Cat must have a light to see in the dark? Uhm....?

I hope for a sequel they do it more like the above... like that shark game I forgot the name of :)

To each their own I guess, but I'm really thankful this isn't another game that attemps "depth" by shoving RPG stuff like stats, levels, inventory, "crafting", etc. I'm so damn tired of this trend of every game having to be an RPG.

Finished! Took me just under six hours total.

The stealth sections were definitely the worst, specifically the ones at the end of the prison section that require you to bait sentinels, and then the final chase. By far the most frustrating parts of the game. And I think the last act of the game felt comparatively undercooked compared to everything before it, as others have already mentioned; it almost feels like the devs were worried they were taking too long to get to the point and didn't want you to mess around too much once you leave the Slums.

Still, it worked really well for me; clearly a lot of thought was put into having the protagonist be a cat and what that would mean for how you interact with the world and the NPCs. There's a little bit of stretching you have to do to convince yourself that a cat would care about anything that's going on or really understand what everyone wanted you to do, but I'm just going to chalk that up to Lassie/Littlest Hobo syndrome where animals magically understand exactly what's needed of them at any given moment.

Do you know if this also applies if you've finished the game? I didn't see any options to load your last save but maybe that's hidden under Start Game.
Yup. You can basically replay any earlier chapter to collect things. The only thing you lose is the point you're at in whatever current chapter the game is saved in.

This game would be a lot better if it didn't have cutscenes. One of them is a 2 second shot of a robot fixing a thing on his desk so it just takes control away from the cats perspective for no reason

So. How is this as a game if you don't really care about cat culture aren't really into/kinda put off by internet cat/doggo obsession. That's not to say I dislike cats, just not into how extra it can be. Looking for a good adventure game.
It's pretty but gameplay is very shallow and linear. It's a great game to try on PS+, you may find you like the slow pace and ambiance.

Pretty fun game so far. I am the sewers. How far am i the game now?
Slums part 2 i felt abit like i was in a open world tho. This guy has something you need. Other guy has it but you need to get him first something also. I dont really like that rabbit hole at all anymore in games. Lucky it was fast and easy. After that it became more linear again luckily

I felt a Shenmue vibe in the open areas. Having to orient yourself by the direction boards and NPCs and such. I'm really enjoying this.

Agreed

I think one of the best strengths of this game is just how simple and funny the gameplay loop is, without useless bloated mechanics we already see in the majority of games

You're just a cat: you jump on stuff, you explore wherever you want, you drop things and scratch some other things, and you do all this stuff in a beautiful crafted cyberpunk world filled with funny characters and memorable places.

Just finished it and really enjoyed it. Maybe being in the early PS5 videos meant some people were expecting something more AAA, but it was exactly what I was expecting in terms of length and tone from an Annapurna published game.

The scenes at the end were stunning and very rewarding too.
I mean…the game is $40 vs $125 (in Aus) for a standard Sony AAA game. Literally less than 1/3 of the price of a AAA game. Anyone who thought it was a AAA RPG is out of their mind.

I finally got started on this today. Such a lovely game. The slow paced nature of this one is just what I needed. Exploring the first open area is a really good experience so far. The game really does have an amazing atmosphere through the great art, lighting and sound design. Runs great on my PC + Steam Deck.

So about those wall "things"...

They are the remnants of humanity that the "plague" mutated right? They clearly appear to be sentient.

Finished it off tonight.

Only took 3h45m according to the in game timer which is perhaps a touch shorter than I was expecting however I did generally stick to the critical path.

Enjoyed it a lot, took a lot of screenshots as there are some absolutely gorgeous visuals and design. Liked the straightforward story and resolution however gameplay was perhaps a touch too simple for my taste (and the stealth is meh).

Pretty perfect game for the PS+ service. Personally think it is a bit short (despite the high quality) to warrant an outright purchase for me.

I bought this on Ps4 (pro) but it looks like I'm getting a PS5 this evening..... Does this upgrade to the PS5 version? How does it work?

Yeah, just exploring, jumping from one rooftop to the other, going through narrows alley are relaxing and fun. Think I'm nearing the end. Such a wonderful game.

From the review thread:
I'm a dog person that is going to platinum this game
And… platinum complete! What a great little game. 10 hours total playtime (including the 1 hour sleeping trophy, so 9 hours playtime I guess) which is honestly more than I expected and great for this type of game.

Finished the speed run in 1 hour 48 minutes, but I was sweating it a bit because the timer I set was at 1 hour 57 minutes. Some things must not count towards the time. If you're worried about the speed run - don't be. I died like 7 times because I was rushing too much and got turned around a lot since I was just playing off memory of my first playthrough. Corralling the drones took me way longer than the initial playthrough as well, so I'm guessing I could have shaved off 10-15 minutes pretty easily if I was more focused haha but I still had 12 minutes to spare. Just glad to be done!

(Still a dog person, but cats are pretty awesome!)

My only complaint is that instead of just having 4 vending machines in The Slums, they make you have to choose between 2 items where one of them makes you have 2 useless energy drinks in your inventory for the rest of the game.

Other than that 9/10 experience.

Midtown looks absolutely breathtaking. I had to stop just to absorb all the details. Spoilers: So the robots in the lower levels are humans right? They uploaded their minds like the B-12. I mean it explains they have human like behavior. A stark difference to the bots in the control room which seem lifeless. The game also implies whatever ecological disaster that impacted earth, which forced the people to live in this prison have recovered. Glimpses of the outside indicate a luscious greenery. And off course the kitty.

I finished the main story, the 2 hour or less speedrun, and the Can't Cat-ch me trophy today. It was a great game. All I need to do is get the missing collectables and I will get the platinum. I had so much fun and I do hope a sequel happens at some point.

Finished the game, it was a good 8/10. No doubt its gonna become a cult classic and one of 2022's best. Still, couldve been amazing if the platforming wasnt so limited and not fun. I wish i could play a version of this game that was designed around with Sly Cooper / Infamous jumping magnetic style.

As it is, its a cool puzzle adventure devoid of all challenge until the end where the cat was brutally gored a couple of times. I kid, the game over shit is so tame.

Now I have officially earned the Platinum. It is one of the few PS5 games I have a Platinum Trophy on but I am so glad I was able to add it to the small list. Even with the Platinum Trophy I am keeping my physical collectors edition preorder as I want to support the devs since I got to play the digital version for free thanks to Playstation Plus.

This looks really cute but I can't be dealing with asset load stutter which I've read this game suffers from, so I'll wait for a patch before jumping in.

For those that finished, anything gruesome or overly violent in the game? my 8 year old want to play the game.

I am wondering this too. I've a 6 year old that would love it, I think, but not if kitty gets harmed. And is the game really challenging too? She loves Astrobot on PS5, and 3D Mario World and Kirby on Switch.

This is a slight spoiler about the very beginning of the game. The cat takes a big fall and limps a bit before falling over, but then gets back up and is running just like before the fall. If you feel that would be okay, then you should be good to go with the game on that front. As far as difficulty goes, if she can handle Astro and Mario, then this is a cakewalk by comparison. It's very much meant to be something anyone can pick up and enjoy regardless of their age.

The ending really felt... like it missing something. Sure, indie game, limited scope and budget, sens of not showing too much to let imagination run wild, but it felt a bit... short.

Also, spoiler for end game :

you start the game outside the city, in the sun. So it was livable all along

What a sweet little game. In many ways, it felt like Limbo/Inside in 3D to me, and I loved the addition of the more open areas to explore.

Atmosphere is spot on throughout too!
