It's less stiff at the very least. English version feels like the guy is saying random lines without much direction.
But yh, the actual dialogue isn't much better.

If there wasn't garland/chaos in there, you couldn't convince me it's final fantasy at all....

GaaS Babylon's Fall for PS3 ? Balan Wonderland ? Marvel ? Handling of classics ala the announced FF games ? I mean Chrono Trigger is not available on modern systems either.

Even Nomura's ott Batman designs would have been better than this. At least they had personality...
I can't believe Tetsuya Nomura is the character design... like... he designed one of the most iconic looking characters in the whole industry... what has happened here ?!
Even the main trio's designs are all over the place, they clash so much.
Explain. I am saying the phrasing in English makes no sense and is not how people speak unless the argument is that Garland is a stranger from Paradise. In which case I just can't that they'd go with that as the title.

This is what happens when we tell Nomura to create "normal outfits."
This feels like designs Nomura created but ultimately shelved back in 2008-2012 that he sent to Team Ninja as a joke and they didn't get the joke and they decided to make into a video game.
Yeah and the character designs and "concept" are squarely on him.
Having a job system with some customization and solid combat could redeem it... somewhat

yep, agree there. English VA is ridiculous AND badly delivered in comparison to the Japanese VA
That is one unintentionally hilarious reveal... My god! The dialogue is bad but who decides to cut that much repetitive stuff into a trailer?
The last team ninja game I played was Other M and that had shitty dialogue too. It played ok though.. and this probably does as well but damn they need some writers / decent editors. And voice direction.
Because he's really a special forces soldier JACKED into the matrix to stop fantasy villain CHAOS thus ending all conflict in the real world.
I hate that Nomura is so heavily involved in nearly everything Square Enix does now. Thank fuck at least FFXVI got others.
