The Frisco Melt is great but the fries are insta-cold even if you eat inside the restaurant.
Fries suck, chicken anything sucks, burgers are above average, shakes are great.
I think some part of the problem is just how bad the fries are. It's really hard to get excited about any fast food place that has bad fries (Wendy's, Burger King, Chick Fil-A, etc). A burger alone is not filling enough so you want to order a combo meal. But what's the point in a combo meal if you know the fries will be bad? It just feels like throwing away money on trash. I don't think McDonald's has the best entrees, but I keep going back there just because their sandwiches are always paired with really good fries.I hate how thin the fries are. I have to eat them with a fork.
It's hard to fuck a milkshake since they're just pure dairy and sugar and even a bad one is going to still be pretty satisfying. It's just that the recent trend of competitors that use frozen custard as a base make much more interesting and exciting shakes.
Waffle House is awful. And lol, I don't drink milkshakes in the middle of the night. Back before I quit red meat, though, a nice, greasy Royale Cheeseburger with fried egg always set me up well for the next day.Waffle House is a pretty superior option for drunken late-night eats, though a syrup-covered waffle is probably going to exacerbate your hangover due to the sugar content. If you're actually drinking a Steak 'n Shake milkshake at 3AM though, that's probably worse.
My biggest issue with their shakes is that sometimes it takes a millennium for them to get it to you. It's hard to fuck a milkshake since they're just pure dairy and sugar and even a bad one is going to still be pretty satisfying. I assume that's just because they are chronically understaffed, and whenever somebody orders a shake some line cook or server has to drop what they are doing and make a milkshake. My biggest issue with their shakes is that sometimes it takes a millennium for them to get it to you.
They always have long drive-thru lines, but I don't know if that is because they are really popular or just because service is always interminably slow.Always see a line around them though, so I guess someone likes them.
This is exactly how I feel about Steak n Shake. Exactly. The Frisco Melt is great but the fries are insta-cold even if you eat inside the restaurant.
Probably, but it can really ruin a meal if that's all you wanted to drink. Now a days, if i want one, I order it to go as we place our food order.I assume that's just because they are chronically understaffed, and whenever somebody orders a shake some line cook or server has to drop what they are doing and make a milkshake.
I don't know where you live, but In N Out is the same way with drive through taking 30 minutes. I avoid them sometimes because I just want to get food and get home quickly. The worst part of steak n shake is I can never get through the drive through in less then 30 minutes. It's why I quit going. It's you aren't going to be fast food don't have a drive through window.
