I'm an absolute clown for thinking this game was coming out next year.
"If the game is not ready to show, there is not a whole lot we can do until it's ready. I don't know, what do you want from me? I can't make it up."
Don't talk about a game so early and even give it a name if you don't want people bugging you for literal years about when it's coming out.
Well yeah, add 4-5 maybe more years to whatever Starfield's release date is for TES6.That sucks, because it means that Elder Scrolls 6 is even farther away -.-°
Starfield and ES6 were undoubtedly announced early so the Fallout 76 + Elder Scrolls Blades announcements would be more digestible to Bethesda fans.
That and crazed fans had been begging them for anything on ES6 for years so it's a bone thrown.
I'm an absolute clown for thinking this game was coming out next year.
Yeah, but this doesn't include the DLC or the countless ports of Skyrim they've done. Or Elder Scrolls online. The team has been very busy.
That sucks, because it means that Elder Scrolls 6 is even farther away -.-°
Hard to justify an exclusive next gen title on launch, especially with the budget and scale of a typical Bethesda RPG. Much easier to do it a year or two later, when the install base can justify leaving 10s of millions of potential old-gen customers behind.I thought this would be a launch window game for next gen. Now, who knows? Late 2021? Later than that?
Yeah, I guess there are 2 schools of thought on this. I think Oblivion probably benefited by coming out early in 360's lifespan. There weren't many other games to draw attention away from it. The 1st Bioshock is another example of this imo.Hard to justify an exclusive next gen title on launch, especially with the budget and scale of a typical Bethesda RPG. At least that's if it is next-gen only. If it's not, WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING?
Don't... no...
Games were MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH cheaper to make 15 years ago. Faster too.Yeah, I guess there are 2 schools of thought on this. It's incredible to think the sequel to Skyrim will probably arrive 15 years later. Damn.
for what it's worth, we'll get the closest thing to a fresh Elder Scrolls experience before then. There's two teams remaking Oblivion and Morrowind in Skyrim respectively. So a remake is better than nothing. That sucks, because it means that Elder Scrolls 6 is even farther away -.-°
This is a great way of putting it. It was a game that probably would have been received a lot better (not that it wasn't received generally well, but there were glaring issues) had it been a 2011 game.I worry we're in for another Fallout 4, as in a game made in a vacuum while other games come out and surpass it.
Zero chance of that ever happening. The Elder Scrolls brand remains very strong, especially with new players introduced via ESO and Legends. Also I'm in support of them dropping the name Elder Scrolls 6 and just calling it Skyrim 2 for marketing and profit purposes. Casual buyers don't care about the name 'Elder Scrolls'.
2025 for ES??? No way. Maybe 2023
You an insider now ? Have you heard about Agent ;)I can say that Bethesda planned a reveal for this year, back in late 2019, at least from what I have heard. Think Covid really hit them hard.
It's the same team of 200-300. Absolutely no way that game comes out in 2023. This isn't the year 2007.
Nah it's still possible, just sounding less likely.I'm an absolute clown for thinking this game was coming out next year.
I clearly need to get more sleep because upon seeing this thread title I was like "what does Seinfeld have to do with Bethesda?"
Now I want Jerry Seinfeld to be the main villain of Elder Scrolls VI. WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH DAEDRA? THEY DON'T COME OUT DURING THE DAY, DO THEY?
