Do turning down any of the settings help at all with the brief stutters? Playing on a 2080, game is running well at 1440, but it does hitch here and there...

Runs well for me on my work PC - mostly high settings with an Intel Xeon E5-2620 and 1060 3GB. Most 60fps at 1080p.

Looks good too - don't think people should automatically assume they can get 60fps by setting everything to epic tbh, most of the time top end settings are barely discernable from the step below but with a massive performance loss. Max settings is almost never worth it in any game.
Perfect. My gaming laptop has the 6GB 1060 with 16GB of RAM and an 8th gen i7 processor. Also a 1080p FHD screen so I should get high settings then.

Thanks

Nyaaaaa....

Steam doesn't unlock until tomorrow...

I assume it will run great on my computer. Pushing for max settings @ 1800p60, or 1620p60 at the very least if not possible.

3900x overclocked
16gb DDR4 3200mhz @ 3600mhz + tightened timing
1080Ti overclocked

Wish I could play naooooooow

On my RTX 2080 Super, 60 isn't obtainable. Drops from 45-60 are frequent. Still playable. Wish you could tweak it more so than you can. Though my proc in the one PC is on the low end, but upgrading from a 1800x to a 2700x today.

I should just take my RTX 2080 Ti and swap with my Super. My main set is 3440x1440, while my Super is on my 4K tv. bah.

What would you guess on a 2080Ti? I've got a 9900k+2080ti in my rig.

Sounds like there's some stuttering issues. I may wait on a patch before jumping in. Been doing this lately, doing it with RDR2 now.

Steam seems to be the red-headed step child these days, always to get games last. I thought I might be able to grab the key for Jedi Fallen Order and install via Origin, but no such luck. Different release dates is bullshit.

I think this game wants six fast cores a.k.a. Intel 8700k+

1440p - 3900x/2080Ti - 84fps: 65% GPU utilization, CPU utilization can hit 100% on some cores.

4k - 3900x/2080Ti - 65fps: 98% GPU utilization

Game is running sensationally for me @ 1440p. I'm north of 60fps without breaking a sweat. The game looks gorgeous by the way.

Interesting. Guess that bodes well for a 2080 Super + i9-9900k @ 1440p.

Getting about 57-60 solid on 1440p on Epic settings. Hitching and drops during cutscenes. Game looks good and feels great to play. Will give it a run on my gsync monitor soon.

Someone mentioned integer scaling before, whats that used for? Lower resolutions on a 4k screen?

I would have to update my steam store country to play it, right? VPN is already connected to New Zealand. I don't like that it states I can't change country back for two weeks.

It's been rather straightforward for me. Wither a game auto detects HDR or I switch to it in Windows before playing (Modern Warfare). Its in a much, much better (and simpler) place than it used to be. I cant say I've ran into your issues and I've used HDR on PC in games from all over, including the MS Windows Store.

I've seen only one person here try HDR, and that was on a C9. Anybody else able to try it on a monitor?

For my high end folks, is 4k60 achievable? It's not that big if a deal to me if its slightly under...gsync can take care of that, but as long as its not in the 40fps range or so.

I just got a c9 yesterday and I played some fallen order on 2560 x1440 @ locked 60fps and I have to tell you

its a fucking experience

I had a pg27uq and I had to return it awhile ago because of that haloing issue. I was using alienware ultrawide, but man this c9 kicks ass

I thought I would use 4k60 more, but I'm ok with 1440@120hz. RDR2 is also a sight to behold

I tried asking in the OT, how are the mouse and keyboard controls? I prefer using mouse and keyboard but have an Xbox Elite I can use if they are poor.

Locked 4k/60/Max settings is not attainable on my 8700k+2080ti. 1800p/60/Max settings is though

Yes, improves the upscaling from lower resolutions to reduce blur when the sub-native resolution doesn't scale to your display's resolution by an integer factor.

I'm really curious to play this on my C9. It'll never run at 4k or even 1800p on my rig (6700k, 1080), but I'm hoping for 1440p60 with a mix of medium and high settings. Is that looking possible?

Maybe I'll end up playing at 1080p if it comes to that, played Control that way and it looked ok with the Nvida Sharpening filter.

I'll probably wait for the reviews tomorrow though.

Lol So which member of the team made the executive decision to rename low-medium-high to medium-high-epic? Random ass nonsense decisions like this crack me up XD

Only played about an hour, but they felt a bit floaty and laggy. Definitely made for a controller, which is a bummer for me. Very playable, but it even says it was designed for a controller in the setup.

There is no setting for mouse/view sensitivity which is also a bummer.

Thanks for the info. I'll make sure I have my controller ready in case it feels bad to me.

Hopefully my 3900x + 1080ti handles it well above 60fps at 1440p. Though no big deal either way as I am using a Gsync monitor.

Why are you guys so picky that you want EXACTLY 60fps? I don't understand it. How does this make or break the purchase of the game?
The problem isn't really that one framerate is lower than the other, it's that the framerate itself is inconsistent. 60 fps most times but with frequent stutters here and there just feels bad. And if you dont have a variable sync display, then ANY framerate between 30 and 60 is inconsistent. 50 fps on a non-variable sync display does not mean 50 consistent frames.

It would only be useful for 1080p on a 4K screen, since that is the next lowest integer scale from 4K. You're essentially dividing each axis by 2: 3840 -> 1920, 2160 -> 1080. That way, one pixel from 1080p can perfectly occupy 4 pixels on a 4K monitor.

Without integer scaling, the 1080p image is upscaled by the GPU or monitor and has some form of interpolation applied to it which results in blur. Integer scaling ensures that no interpolation occurs, resulting in an image that looks like native 1080p on a 4K monitor.

Running @ 1440p with a locked 60 fps at max settings. No stuttering and no drops, but I only finished the intro (first 15-20 minutes) where things were fairly linear. Will see if I get drops when I get to the first planet and things open up more.

1440p 1070 how we looking?

All maxed settings, I get 45 (worst case) to about 75 (best case), usually right around high 50s / 60 FPS. I haven't tried lowering settings, really, because it's fine. Very smooth feeling on adaptive sync monitor

All this running on an HDD and ooooooold i5-2500k, with a regular old GTX 1070.

There are definitely some slight hitches entering a new area or coming out of a cutscene, but they aren't enough to interrupt the game, and they seem to be getting less frequent as I play the game more and more.

Amazing game so far also.

Disabling SMT, while a bad idea generally could produce performance improvements in this specific game.

Thanks for the tip, but I don't want to constantly have to reboot and activate/deactivate it based on the use case. I'm downsampling from 4k down to 1440p and getting 60-75fps currently. Fine with me.

I'll test performance tonight/tomorrow on my 2080Ti/2700x rig at 4k and report back. Hopefully with some minor adjustments I can get a solid 60fps...most of all, I hope there is no recurrent stuttering, which is the thing that would annoy me the most.

Hey JaseC the link for F-Secure Freedome in the OP doesn't work for me. I ended up using the link below, is it because I'm in the US maybe?

Nah, just an outdated link. I've updated it. Thanks for the heads-up. :)

You don't need to do anything. The Steam version unlocks worldwide at 5am GMT/8am GMT (the countdown timer on the front of the store is different to the one on the game's store page, so one of them has to be incorrect).

Only played the intro bits, but runs at about 65-75 FPS on average at 2560x1440, and higher in cutscenes (black bars on sides).

I imagine some later levels may stress the game more but shall see.

All on Epic settings.
