Has anyone else heard about this... its about a little girl getting physically and sexually assaulted by her biological mother and her boyfriend. The biological father has been trying to get custody but from what i have seen nobody is on his side... cps isn't doing anything... they are involved now but haven't done anything to help the girl out of this situation. There are many videos that the father took to raise awareness. In the video the girl is crying and screaming for her father but the mother and grandmother are taking her. And when the grandmother does sit down and "listen" to her she doesn't believe that she is being abused.

There's been some completely bizarre conspiracies coming out of QAnon about supposed child abuse and human trafficking. Someone seriously made a thread about it here based on similarly panicked tweets that treated some ridiculous claims as if they were facts.

I have to say that, while this thing doesn't seem like the same thing - I still have 0 idea why random tweets are being posted and no context for what this actually is or where these videos come from. Could we get some sort of explanation of that in the OP? Like are these people talking to her father directly or just random reposters?

I would like to help Sophie and her biological father, that's a natural reaction.

However, I also have my doubts about the truthfulness of this. Placing situations like this publicly on social networking sites seems pretty disrespectful to me. Give that child privacy, I bet these footage have been put online without the child's permission.

I apologize in advance for my skepticism, but in these times it is possible that there is a QAnon agenda behind it. For the unaware: that is a series of conspiracy theories claiming that Trump fights all corrupt democrats who, on the basis of false artificial evidence, are all considered paedophiles. These conspiracy theories are originally derived from 4Chan/8Chan - right-wing extremist sites that also frequently spread child pornography.

I just think this is fabricated, if it is indeed true it would be incredibly disrespectful to post all of this on social networking sites.

I find it hard to believe a child is knowingly being abused by her mother and yet the father can do nothing. Not saying this isn't happening as our governmental system is trash sometimes.

Apparently cps is involved but has done nothing to help and a court ordered her to go back to her mom which is why the father is going to social media. There are plenty stories of cps not doing enough,decreased budgets, too many kids per case worker, etc etc, and kids ending up dead etc etc. The tragic story of Gabriel Fernandez was made into a Netflix doc. The family court system is very fucked up

I understand the hesitance to believe this the seriousness of the hashtag prompted me to post right away. The videos i have seen it do not look fake and I don't believe a child can fake that type of emotion/crying.

I agree that such cases of abuse should receive attention. I too have family members who have been victims of this in the past. I take it seriously, but not if these videos are spread like that. Privacy for the victim is very desirable and should be respected. The victim will be left with traumas, with mental scars that will be carried throughout life. Attention on social media is undesirable and disrupts the whole healing process because it cannot take place in peace and tranquility. By attention I mean that the victims can find good support and can count on help, good therapeutic guidance and such - no media attention on social networks.

In my life I have also found that police and courts often support the perpetrator in such situations (gaslighting seems to be very effective, if it even misleads legal services). However, it seems very unlikely that there is not a single service within the United States that father and daughter can count on.

That reference to Pedogate on Reddit: I clicked on this link to have a look at it all. It is full of right-wing extremist Qanon propaganda. It causes the whole of it to be questioned.

It's not even "the dad" sharing it. The twitter thread seems like an unrelated person who just happens to have the whole scoop, the gofundme is made by a woman, the youtube account only has 3 videos and theyre all "sophie". Everything about this screams fake.

Even if he is her biological dad taking her from the mom would be considered kidnapping. Just because your a biological parent doesn't mean you can just take your kid and go hide somewhere the other parent can't find you.

Well, firstly, speak to a lawyer, Even if it's just a consultation, they'll be able to advise you what to do and what not to do, namely not drag it to social media and Reddit. If this ever goes to court, any lawyer would get all of that thrown out straight away as evidence.
