My mind went to the collection. Origin is pretty big idk. We'll see I guess.

I wouldn't say a collection is big at all though, and the retractment to the statement suggests that there is "big" news but not everything.
That was my immediate thought, but even if it's not one of those three, then at least we now know there could be something FF related
My hope is that Origin isn't in the S-E stream, because that'd mean it could appear either at a Sony show soon or at SGF's event on the 10th. Which is what I hope for XVI. Like, Origin has to be announced soon if it's indeed having an alpha demo in the Summer.

Yeah I'd agree with this, I could see how some people could not find ports/remasters of 2d games big
Origins is still an entirely new game by Team Ninja, I'd consider that big no matter what.
Getting the feeling FFXVI is a big Sony State of play thing or if this rumoured sony conference happens sometime in the few months or even TGS

Most definitely - but I do remain faithful that SQE will break their silence on XVI soon. They will most likely debut another trailer at Sony's own state of play if not at E3. Although stranger things have happened with past FF announcements, I would honestly be surprised if they decided to wait until TGS! I guess we should go in with zero expectations just incase!

Man, I really wanna play this with people but the well is so dry around here that even my local -- and generally excellent -- hobby shop stop carried them.
Ok, sounds like FF Origin and a collection at the SE presents, and XVI at Sony's next state of play. Locking that in as my final guess.

Does this imply it's something other than a FF collection or Origin? Because saying it's either of those wouldn't out your source since we already know about them. No need to answer though, I am just speculating.
First I've got to learn how to play (help me)... ffdecks and OCTGN don't really work when I'm still learning the fundamentals.

Secondly there's no way there'll be some huge visual upgrade for all the games

If your expectations are that high, then no, I don't think the collection will appease you.
You're gonna get two collections, 1-3 and 4-6, pay $30 each and LIKE IT.
They're also mobile ports.
Good luck with that. I can totally see them doing one in July or August. They're not in a hurry.
I'll be honest
I don't really care for a visual upgrade
in-game graphics-wise, clean 2D is good enough for me. Just please none of that really bad portrait art that doesn't even match the sprites like in the mobile ports
I just want new CG cutscenes lol
The portrait art bugs me, too. Especially with FFV. It doesn't suit the characters tonally at all. lol
The one thing I can say here, though, is that if the ports are the mobile versions, something has changed considerably from what I've heard multiple times. <_<

This is cool. I hadn't heard anything new on that front, so I'm glad to read it.
They licensed a song for TWEWY, "Lullaby for You", that isn't in any of the ports. FFXIII has "My Hands" which is ehhhh
yeah even I don't think SE is that tonedeaf to being THOSE versions especially after they fixed Chrono Trigger on Pc
I'm not sure I'd count FFXV under the "licensed music" thing, btw? I'm admittedly a complete chump when it comes to understanding the music industry, but Florence and her gang of musical misfits composed those tracks specifically for the game. Or at least, that's what she told me at a concert last year.
