I read a lot of people are disappointed that there is no RPG mechanic in the game so only one way to make a build. Personally, I am hoping for a Bloodborne/DS-lite experience that perhaps will finally help me finish a From game lol

Probably the last game i'm buying day 1 this year (maybe Judgment after this, but still thinking about).
I think most of the disappointed people for lack of RPG customization will end up buying it as well eventually. Sekiro still have some light RPG elements. In latest previews we saw the skill tree and prosthetic tool upgrades, there are many of them. Also you can still find lot's of hidden items while you are exploring.

fuck yeah

this could be From's best game from what I've seen. the actual verticality in the level design with the grappling mechanic looks amazing. huge step up from the usual walk off suspicious looking ledge kind of "verticality" in the previous souls games.

A chance? It looks amazing. Will be playing with an open mind and will judge it in it's own right.

I'm not looking forward to the endless souls comparison after release though...

Big Bloodborne fan - first From game. DKS3 I'm running through right now and fuck with it heavily as I kind of play it like BB - Parry, parry, parry. Sekiro day one!

Well I'm only a BB fan (ds is just too damn slow), but sekiro is scratching every itch I have for fast combat and aggression. I'm ready to go

Souls fans should also do what they can to play Deracine. It's basically a Souls side story turned into a game and get a vibe similar to that of a few Angela Carter short stories that feels fully From Software. (Also lots of Bloodborne references)

Giving it a chance? Yes. It's a day-one purchase for me unless they somehow ship a completely broken game.

Yes, but for me it's mostly the setting that doesn't appeal to me, the game itself looks great. That said I played Onimusha for the first time very recently and I ended up loving that to bits.

Of course I am. I love Souls and Bloodborne, but I'm totally up for a more action oriented approach with a defined character. I just like good games and I expect Sekiro to be good. Honestly I'm quite pleased that Myazaki/FROM are doing something a little different this time around.

I generally don't like just action games, but I have some amount of hope this will still be more of a souls game than anything else. I'm taking a wait-and-see approach.

It'll be the first (and likely only game) I'll buy at a full fat $60 this Gen (came in late so I missed the launch of BB and DS3).

well yeah. I'll never not play a game because of the inclusion or exclusion of a mechanic from another game.

Yup I am in. Loved Bloodborne more than souls and this might be better. Mechanics wise it doubles down on the things I like in From games and adds, and discards the majority of stuff I never liked or used.

As for non-gameplay aspects it's Miyazaki, I don't expect to be dissapointed.

I'm debating on whether or not to get this or DMCV first. I have some time since I just started to play Divinity Original Sin 2. So maybe I'll get the first one that drops to $30.

I'm a huge Souls fan by the way. Ive beaten all the Souls games and Bloodborne. This setting just doesn't entice me like the others did though.

No i'm afraid, Platinumed BB/DS3 but gonna sit this one out, No CAC and co-op/PvP makes me not want it, And the setting isn't anything new to me considering i still play Nioh.

I'm sold, but at the same time I'm going into it very concerned. Since the game has been confirmed no have no aides for the player, such as strong gear you can obtain early in the game or no summoning, I'm afraid the game will take its difficulty a bit too far for me. Souls games are difficult, but at least there were elements baked in to give you a hand. Sekiro seems to have nothing like that as far as we know. That could be the thing that makes me put it down quickly.

Not at full price.

I was already a little eh on BB, I much prefer the slower approach of the souls games. This is further out than BB.

I will give it a go at $20 or thereabouts because there is a really good chance I wont like it.

Of course. Way more excited for it than I was for DS3. I need new things from one of my favorite dev.

Of course. We're the target audience in the first place. Plus I personally am looking forward to all the fucking numbers being hidden and not as much adjustable. Based on previews, the game seems to be as rpg as needed anyway with progression, currency, upgrades and skill trees. It's gonna be way better than fine. Also probably somewhat replayable in some way but that's what bothers me the least.

Of course I am. Even though I know it is not like FromSoftware's previous titles.

Yeah it looks like a more evolved Bloodborne. Bloodborne is the best game FROM have by a long mile so if this can top it then I'll love it.
