Since the end of last year there hasn't been communication with the gamers, they told us that they weren't going to do E3 and didn't tell us anything else. Today Quantic Dreams PlayStation exclusives are going to PC and it seems that they are going Multiplatform from now on, no word from Sony as the news left it's fans confused and surprised.

Right now we don't know what the future looks like and when you compare Sony to Microsoft, it's night and day as they are transparent and try to keep it's fans well informed. Mad props to Phil Spencer and his work on changing and morphing Xbox to what it has become today as the Xbox future looks bright, can't say the same for PlayStation since we are left to twiddle our thumbs as they keep us in the dark.

God Damn please come back Kaz Hirai...

Check the PlayStation Blog.

And we know of all their firat party games for remainder of this gen already except possibly one.

But all their marketing focus is on Days Gone right now.

This is really only a concern for people very eager to defend their console war positions and to update lists of exclusives to argue with other people online. All the normal people who own PS4s are probably just happily waiting for Sekiro to be released this week instead of being concerned with "silence" or Quantic Dreams games going multiplatform.

Quantic Dream have never been a Sony studio to begin with, they just partnered with Sony to deliver 3 games on their consoles but they've always been independant IIRC.

What are you looking for exactly? As someone who plays a lot of Playstation games, I'm just trucking along and not feeling the need for reassurance on random FUD issues.

The whole situation is made is even more bizarre by the fact that Layden said that they would be "ramping up" communication very quickly like a long time ago. That was a lie basically, and not the first from him. It has been kinda dull definitely these last months.

They simply have no games to show.
Some games are delayed, some other are in development for PS5.

It's comparatively strange indeed when we seem to know most future intentions of Microsoft, to an extent Nintendo, now Google, and with Sony... well, they'll have a couple decent games this year, and that's about what we know. They're slowly opening up on crossplay, but they are comunicating this to a couple devs, not coming out to "admit" it. Whereas the next Xbox's features are becoming more and more clear, we know little about PS5 bar some hardware speculations, and even backwards compatibility is anyone's guess.

Of course, they're not in a position where they need to do anything. Consumers are rewarding what they are doing, so they have no obligation to change. It's just strange that Sony's future is the most unclear yet. Either they are working on something totally different and they don't want to be spilling the beans so soon to avoid the competition to catch up on it, or they are just looking at the trends to see what to do with a "safe" PS5 come next year/2021. We'll see.

It's also not too complicated to keep their consumers more informed, it's just weird how they have managed these last couple of years

Sony has shown like 5 games that are still coming over the next two years.

And supposedly there's 2 unannounced ones.

Microsoft is talking about next gen because this one is lost to them, Sony won't announce anything regarding next gen until after November 2019, to avoid hurting sales of the PS4.

OP you need to learn not to panic for nothing, is a good skill to have in life. Keep calm...

Why would Playstation fans be concerned over Detroit moving to PC? The game is already available on the PS4.

I mean... What do you want them to show? PS5 isn't ready yet. There aren't a lot more first-party games in development for PS4. The only thing they can do is wait.

I just hope for metagon announcements when they will break silence

Of course, PS4 will be fine, there are plenty of AAA exclusives which will come, a bunch of AA and that's great

But I think we all know their plans for the future

I don't see a problem.
I don't need a "constant stream of communications" to feel validated, I just play the games.
Besides, QD games going to PC is positive not negative.

Sony is doing their thing and that's brining the games. No need to talk when you can show.

If people expect non-stop communication/announcements or immediate reaction to what other companies do, then it is on you for having those crazy expectations.
Sony talks/shows when it is best for them (according to them at least)

only fanboys need constant news in their veins..

I never understand posts like OP's and the first one. Y'all need to chill.

Microsoft is similarly quiet, but the difference is that the likes of Thurrott/Brad Sams are constantly leaking Microsoft's plans for the future, including that Phil Spencer email from yesterday that was meant for Xbox employees only. We'll know more about both soon enough.

While they could be a bit morer communicative i´d rather have them focusing on the things that actually matter, unlike some of their competitors. Games.

What exactly do you want Sony to say? What has Microsoft said that meant a big deal to you?

- Two exclusive games are coming this Spring
- They've already shown their three big hitters for the rest of the gen extensively
- You're acting as if they haven't said anything in a year and no games are on the way
- They've got zero reason to talk about next gen so prematurely since they've actually got a bunch of exciting exclusives left to sell for this one

I don't think it's that terrible. At least, no where near as painful as the WiiU's final two years waiting for the Switch reveal where we got a serious zero news regarding anything. At least Sony has shown of games that are coming soon that look promising.

Sony must keep talking even when they have nothing to update because we gamers are neurotic and insecure and are quick to assume doom and gloom when a previously exclusive developer decides to bring their legacy games to more gamers (a good thing by the way).

It's no wonder they're silent, they're bleeding exclusives left and right, and being completely left behind on the streaming front.

According to their words they are "crouching to jump higher". I have a feeling we will see something from them soon enough.

As a Sony user I'm not concerned... I mean, I dont care about Quantic Dream going on PC... why should I? It's a game almost old 1 year (Detroit) and a collection that was available on Sony console by years...
Also I dont generally care if some titles go multi, i'm just happy other consoles user can enjoy them... (and I potentially could too if I change console)
First party titles will probably remain exclusives, but still... who cares? If I enjoy PS HW and services I dont see the problem to lose exclusive titles... I can just have more options for the future choices.

They don't have to do anything when they're so ahead of the competition, don't be entitled.

I'll bite before this gets locked.

Remember when mass effect was a Microsoft exclusive? Quantic is a second party and it's games were ps exclusives but they obviously worked out a deal to release them into the wild. How is that a bad thing especially with everyone clamoring that ps must do cross play.

How many more 1st party games does ps have this generation? They gave you a road map at E3 last year we just don't know the exact dates. Gotta be patient. Why go full Bethesda and go to every convention and blather on about everything under the sun and have it be mostly filler. Never go full Bethesda.

They had a Days gone preview not long ago.
They expanded PS now to more territories.
Dreams is going to have an early access soon.
And they just killed the Vita, so they're still in mourning.

I'm pretty sure Sony has plenty up their sleeve, and will tell everyone when they're ready.

But they are keeping us informed - with the PlayStation Blog, Twitter etc. We've just had a ton of info on Days Gone recently.

Just because they're not talking about their next-gen plans yet, is not them not keeping us informed. And we're not PS5 customers anyway, so they don't owe us anything there yet. They only need to talk about PS4 - for which we know the line-up.

Always confused by the people who want these corps to just blow smoke up their arse and put more weight behind that instead of recent and upcoming releases.

Wtf do you want? Software in both 1st and 3rd party is flowing.
Sounds like whinging for whinging sake honestly.

Phil replies and talks to xbox fans on social media, he even makes changes based on what gamers want and has discussions about topics that some find important

So you want more twitter replies?
Shu replies on twitter as well as some prominent game Sony devs like Cory Barlog.

Is that not engagement?
