Sony share the new PlayStation 5 logo at CES 2020

What are you trying to say?
In 15 hours, Sony did a 4x in engagement with a stupid logo versus Microsoft with a full design reveal, in a month. Puts things back in perspective.
Whereas I think it is perfect, to be able to slowly but surely build up the hype for something most folks (whom are lucky enough to afford it) around the world will want this Christmas.
It's not an 'argument', just an observation between the two different reveals.
The presentation wasn't for PlayStation, nobody should have expected much more than this, at most maybe an announcement of the reveal event.

Why on earth would you expect much for PS4 at CES? It's not E3 or Playstation's own events. People keep expecting so much from little events like this (little for these brands), you set yourself up for disappointment.
Yeah, this was not a PlayStation presentation. This was not a PS5 reveal at all. PlayStation's official accounts didn't link the stream at all because it was not meant to be a big deal. Sure, people on here may have thought as much but journalist all over twitter were saying not to get excited. It is not Sony's fault that some hardcore gamers in a corner of the internet thought that this was suppose to be a big thing.
Just look at PlayStation Blog. That is their official news blog and it hasn't even mentioned the logo yet. It may eventually but the lack of promotion for their CES keynote and the lack coverage of the logo tells you all you need to know about about what the PlayStation team sees this as. It was simply an update on the state of PlayStation just like they do almost every CES.
do we actually know if there's an event planned for next month, or are we still assuming so because the PS4 was revealed in a February event?
We're mostly assuming, though some insiders suggest an event is due in February.

Sony's LOGO and reveal so far has been super boring. They know they don't have a powerhouse next gen and that is why.
Xbox Series will take it next gen. It'll be sooooo good!

Xbox does one console trailer and that's it? Sony is done? Okay. *eye roll* The next gen hype hasn't even begun in earnest yet. In a couple of months those Wired articles that Sony has done and the Xbox Series X trailer will be a distant memory. These companies have a long way to go when it comes to reveals.
What is going on? Heh. Until both consoles have been fully unveiled, it's impossible to guess where the chips will land. And even then there's a massive amount of uncertainty.
And betting against Playstation? Yeah, not where I'd be putting my money.
Wow, console warring is so sad. Sony has been rumored since mid 2019 that they would unveil it in February. It's not February. How any of this leads you to believe that EITHER of them will "take it next gen" is beyond me. This has nothing to do with how much power either console has. It's just you using how much you are entertained by what has been shown so far to jump to illogical conclusions.
I am optimistic for Xbox Series X from what they have shown so far. Do I think PS5 is doomed because of it and how they haven't shown anything about the console yet? No, not even a little bit. That would be a ridiculous assumption based on zero factual information. The logic of: no info = it's worse and they're afraid to show it? Come on now...

You can simply download the JPEG logo onto your desktop.

It was kind of funny that people thought Sony was going to be reactionary based on the surprise Xbox showing at the Game Awards when MS is in a desperate position with Xbox and they got scoped twice by Sony with Mark Cerny putting out the SSD and general tech specs months ago making everything MS release about Xsx techwise old news. You have to feel they're pretty confident about what they are rolling out to troll the community with a logo reveal, but we will see for certain in less then 30 days.
on YouTube those follower numbers are probably roughly equivalent to the number of views each corresponding video would get.
