There's a point where "expecting things" looks like being entitled. PS Now never advertised next gen games.
No, but they have previously indicated that they'd be adding PS5 games to Now shortly after launch.
And maybe they still will.
It makes sense for them too - as with Plus, giving people PS5 games prior to owning a PS5 helps pave a path toward PS5 ownership, and PS5 ownership is likely the best factor for Sony in securing ongoing engagement from a user for the next 5+ years.
So it is a bit disappointing that they're not on this ball faster. They have spent a couple of years now, seemingly, on a root-and-branch reform of the
company and internal navel gazing, but with what feels like less focus on reform of their services and customer-facing features. Or a hesitancy to commit to a path, perhaps borne out of a discomfort with deviating too much from a status quo that's benefited them, and/or the recession of threats like Google. It's like things have been left up in the air depending on what else happens, externally, and they haven't landed on a definitive path forward yet.
I mean, I think for a while we've been waiting for Sony to consolidate and rejuvenate its subscription services, to pave a way forward. And when Google et al seemed like bigger threats, there were glimmers that this was going to happen. And it may yet happen, but I don't blame people's frustration with the modesty and restriction of their efforts in the meantime. And 'little' things like this that seemingly highlight the lack of evolution on the service. I mean it's now over a year (I think) since they laid out their grand plans for PSNow to shareholders, and I'm not sure any of the mooted improvements have actually come to market yet?
fake edit - close to two years now since they indicated plans for how PSNow would improve and expand in light of Google's entry with Stadia.
