Well they announced the PS5 and BC on a random tuesdayYeah, lmao. That was the most surprising thing. They just dropped this out of nowhere lmao.
Ok, I didn't say they wouldn't make sequels, just that hopefully Sony gives them more freedom than just working on one series 'til the end of time. It's been a massive game for them, they did a great job and Sony would be silly not to use that great studio for more Spiderman stuff.
Paying homage to the boxart, it was cropped out of the image.
I'm curious what changed. Even though they've worked closely with Sony for years they've always said they want to remain independant. Anyways, good get for Sony.
Shocker that a thread like this is 99% positive unlike other studio acquisition ones on other platforms, huh?People are super cool with everyone getting bought up when it concerns games they like on the system they like. Go figure.
The other one you're thinking of is Fuse, which was announced with a TF2-style teaser before it came and was revealed to be another generic modern military cover shooter.
The partnership probaby ended a few months ago as far as signing up to develop new games for them but they'll still release the games for Oculus as planned. I'm glad, Insomniac should have been developing for PSVR years ago.I have so many questions, but the one that sticks out the most to me right now: what happens to their partnership with Oculus?
Yep, I believe that is what will happen for sure.WAIT.
Does this mean I'll be getting PSVR games from Insomniac instead of being strongarmed into Oculus now?
They will finish what they're contracted to, and then start working with Sony.
At a certain point, it's the responsible and right thing to do for your employees to take a cash buyout from a company like Sony. I'm sure a lot of longtime Insomniac employees are very happy today, and congrats to them.Holy fuck. Makes sense, but I thought they liked being independent
Didn't they do games for them as exclusives on a regular though?
Hell yeah, now PC versions of their games will never happen. AWESOME!!!!Insomniac and Naughty Dog are finally both first-party.
So awesome.
womp womp...Hell yeah, now PC versions of their games will never happen. AWESOME!!!!
