And 27 out of 29 times it's because of fraking Youtube commercials.

Jesus Christ weeping on a cross. What the goddamn hell. Maybe it's just my mammal memory betraying me, but I don't remember it being that bad a while ago. And then it got bad, but now it got worse. I just want to see a random video and then I have to endure not one, but two commercials? And sometimes I can't even skip them? And so I have to listen to some random person talking about how their food for animals is good or how a bank actually has my well being in mind! And sometimes they interrupt my video out of nowhere!

It's too much.

Well for Chrome there are extensions to block those ads (you can even autoskip the sponsor section of videos with an extension)

Premium is worth it if you watch enough YT. Which I do. I've had it for years and haven't looked back. Anytime I have to use YT on a device that ain't mine and I get an ad I'm confused for a quick second before I remember this is what it's like for most folk.

The truly annoying thing is that it's obvious they're testing how much advertising people are willing to tolerate. So I feel duty bound to quit when it shows two unskippable 10 second ads before the video even starts.

uBlock Origin + SponsorBlock works great on the desktop.
The real problem is that there's no way to use them on mobile or Smart TVs.

YouTube Premium is not only overpriced, it's ineffective now with so many channels running their own sponsorships mid-video.
I'd be willing to pay a reasonable amount, like $5/mo. but not $22/mo. when it doesn't even cover all ads now.

I think I'd drop literally every other subscription I have before I drop YouTube Premium. They completely 100% have me and have had me for years. I'm not happy about it, but I'll never use YouTube without it. They know it, I know it, dogs know it.

If you spend so much time on youtube and complain about ads here..you could as well google how to get rid of them or just pay to get rid of them.
