Nice to see. Though it's hard to go back to console after beefing up PC. Playing the game at max settings at 1440p while getting around 100fps, there's no reason to play it elsewhere.
This - loading times look great, but mine are pretty good on PC already, and I get 1440p/100+ FPS on PC.
My god the loading time ! Oh thank you !
Edit: Will I need to do anything to have my PS4 character on my PS5 ?

Shouldn't even need to download game should be able to move to external storage right then transfer over to internal SSD?That's FFXIV on a SSD, alright.
Download the game and sign in, and you're good.

Yeah the update didn't turn the PS5 into a PC!
Truly a missed opportunity by Sony

Why does the lighting look a little flat on console? It's like some shadows are missing or something. Very noticeable in the Eulmore clip.
Just what I was looking for. Thank you!I'm sure you could do that, too.
If you're using a disc on PS4 and got the diskless PS5, there's this to do, also.

The game doesn't support HDR in any way but there are some PC specific settings like hbao+ and so on which don't exist in the PS4 version.
The pro mode is 4k afaik. The pro modes are just 1440/30 or 1080/60ish right? Not both? Is it unlocked enough for a chance to boost mode utsway there before the compatibility patch?
I would be interested in trying it on PS5 if I weren't already relatively invested in the PC version. That said, I don't know if I could ever adapt to the controller settings. I'm not a PC gamer by any means but MMOs, for me, have to have a keyboard and mouse. You PS players are wizards! (or Black Mages, in this case.)
It's funny you say this, because I feel the exact opposite. I don't know if I can adapt to mouse and keyboard. I've tried many times before, and while I can get it working at a basic level, I play much worse than on a controller.

Does it even matter considering you can use m/kb on consoles and controller on pc?
you don't lose progress if you link both to the same account.Well, it does to me since I'd have to buy another license and lose access to the progress I've already made but go off I guess

You don't lose any progress PS and PC use the same servers and account.
Tried this yesterday on PS5 and it looks great. Runs Pro settings at what I assume is a solid 60fps, no hiccups. Load times are quick too.
I wasn't aware that FF14 supported HDR? Is that just automatic, because I haven't seen a setting in it before.
okay
regardless, I'm playing on my PC.
I was just complimenting people who can use the controller anyway so....
I mean i play on PC and always use a controller i think the game works great with it in fact i think it's even better then m/kb.
Having played mmo's with mouse+kb since forever it took me quite a while to grind the muscle memory for controller in XIV too, and adapting to new jobs and bind changes is still way easier for me on m+kb, I still play with pad on tv occasionally and when doing gathering and stuff, but having played with both, just for raiding m+kb just feels better with targeting, mouseover macros and being able to wiggle the camera when needed(like avoiding gaze attacks while maintaining full uptime)I think, for me, I've been playing WoW since it launched so I had to learn it then and now it's the only way I can play it or FF. When I tried the PS version of FF years ago it was like my brain just broke - I couldn't get used to it at all lol.
I'm not sure what your issue is here with what I said. I, meaning "me or myself", said that, again, -I- could not use the controller and that I was impressed by others who could. That's it. I'm glad you think it works great because I wasn't insulting it.
You're trying to twist this into some weird diss against the controller and I suggest you reread my original post which is not aggressive or mean spirited at all.

What does this mean?
Lol I'm the opposite, I found a way to add the cross hotbar from ffxiv onto WoW been playing it with aI think, for me, I've been playing WoW since it launched so I had to learn it then and now it's the only way I can play it or FF. No, the frame rate is capped on the base game so nothing can't be done without a patch. This kind of OT, but does FF7R run any better on PS5? I haven't been able to find any info on it.
