I loved the game back in the day.
Online matches were chaotic as hell. Had a lot of fun. Also making maps was a breeze.

Can't wait to play this.

HOOOOOOOOOOOOLY Shit. This game was my jam back in elementary school. I wrote a whole essay about it in 3rd grade. The HK MP5 + M72 Law were my jam. The zombies mode servers were way ahead of their time, too.

I wish it was more popular. It's free to play now, with just a few cosmetic packs if you want them. The movement, sword fighting, building and destruction physics all mesh together into some really chaotic fun. I pop into a match every now and then and there's usually at least one server with enough people playing for a decent CTF match.

I'd been waiting to see how the Soldat 1 Steam release was going to shake out, so this sequel announcement is an interesting surprise.

Check out their previous 2D multiplayer game KAG. The pixel art is by the Cortex Command people and is pretty great. It's definitely different than Soldat with it's building, medieval theme and environmental destruction, but I think it caries on it's 2D multiplayer action spirit.

Liero was a revelation the first time I stumbled upon it over 20 years ago. 1v1 Worms but on steroids!

Has anyone played this? Want to setup a dedicated server for work Friday games but it seems it's Linux? Are there any guides or details on how to run a dedicated server?
