They need to bring back the ethical dilemma angle of the movies. I haven't seen Dominion yet, but they had a great set up for this in World and Fallen Kingdom by creating dinosaurs that were blended species; they could've easily been talking about what it means to try to merge species together instantly instead of over thousands of years of evolution and breeding. But they didn't pursue this at all, instead making the movies about people being greedy and wanting to sell the dinosaurs (again).

Jurassic Park should strive to be the thinking man's blockbuster, with a moral message or whatever.

The obvious direction to go into would be DinoRiders

So, Jurassic World Dominion has come and gone. In my opinion, that movie fucking sucked. Like, it was straight up not good and I legitimately don't know what people could possibly see in Jurassic World Dominion whatsoever. And since they're marketing this movie as "the official end of the modern Jurassic Park Era (at the moment)", where do you think Jurassic Park should go next as a franchise? Come on Era, y'all know what to do. Do the hand thing that everybody does in Jurassic World Dominion and tell me what you would like to see Jurassic Park do next

I thought it was dumb, stupid, but a helluva lot of fun! It was great to see the legacy cast having so much fun in that sandbox again.

I think the series needs to take a nice long slumber for a few years. Maybe create a TV show and put it on some streaming platform.

And the sequel "Park"

And the last of the trilogy, Chan-wook

Here's a random fun dinosaur fact by the way. Triceratops only existed for like 2 million years in total, a vanishingly short time geologically. Triceratops appeared at the very end of the Cretaceous period right before that big ass meteor hit the Earth and fucked everything up, leading to humans, fucking everything up further.

I've not seen it but it has a decent score on RT, an A- on cinemascore and it's brought in a lot of money. They will keep going with more of the same.

Edit: it really does not have a great RT, 30%

A prequel comedy series staring Matt Berry as Dennis Nedry that is about all the shaninigans he and John Hammond get up to while building the park.

John: Dennis we need you to do some voice over for our alert system.

Dennis: agh....

John: common now. It's easy. Just read the lines.

Dennis: the trex has escaped its enclosure. Evacuate the area immediately.

John: perfect, but can you maybe sound a little terrified, we're trying to convey the seriousness of the situation.

Dennis: Ahhhhh the trex has escaped its fucking enclosure, it's going to eat everyone, get the fuckout!

I like how kids and future kids should be denied their dinosaur movies because a bunch of adults think that because the (past) movies aren't good, they shouldn't exist.

Guess I shouldn't be surprised. Despite its supposed progressiveness, the Era userbase is frequently lacking in empathy.

Just let the franchise rest a couple of years, 5 at minimum, and then either reboot entirely or start a new trilogy or whatever.

Do the SW thing and take a 15 years off after 3 shitty movies and come back with another set of shitty movies where the middle one is somehow great.

This is quite minir but I hate how they fucked up my perception of the john williams them with its overuse with all things markting in the sequels. That being said. Kill it or reboot it and take it seriuosly. Not this shlock.

Chris Pratt needs to get eaten.

There was 40 minutes left in Dominion where I felt safe to say 'okay, the main cast is here now only the bad guy has to get eaten'. There is no tension anymore, everything is old hat or worse a blatant wink/nudge reference to a better movie. The only two scenes that had any interest in all of Dominion were the Ice scene and the parachute/deer scene because at least that was something fresh even if it was over too quickly and the relevant cast are effectively untouchable. In the original movie Arnold and Muldoon are established, likeable characters who the audience wants to see make it but don't because dinosaurs don't care. Their heroics are not undercut by a flaming grasshopper on a stick. In Lost world there was Carr, but also at the least Roland's friend and the guy who was afraid of snakes are presented somewhat sympathetically. This is why Chris Pratt needs to be eaten and the old cast retired, there is no tension whenever they are on the screen and this is effectively a monster movie series where the monsters are as dangerous as the average haunted house ride at a fair.

The franchise is too focused on kids for anything really shocking to happen. You know, for instance, that there is no way in hell any of the kid characters will ever get maimed, same for the main characters. And in this last one, since it was basically all fan service, all of those guys were going to make it, so like you said the tension is gone. You really need a new cast of characters where you have no idea who is disposable. It's kind of similar to Star Wars where it's too big of a franchise to really do things like "Rey turns evil" or something similar that would become an "Optimus Prime dies" moment to a new generation of kids.

"Stop making Jurassic Park movies" is the downright strangest answer and yet it's winning the poll? Stop? Why? Is the market too filled with dinosaur movies? Are you dying to see Chris Pratt in other things and think these movies were wasting his time?

All 3 Jurassic World movies were pitifully reliant on directly recreating scenes and pulling quotes from the original, and occasionally the sequels. Also, the amount of human empathy Colin Treverrow wants to impart onto velociraprors and t-rexes is embarrassing.

The first World built its entire framework around the original movie to the point of self-acknowledging parody within the script with Jake Johnson's lines. It's a wholly vapid experience, completely interior to the classic movie of which they attempted to make a pastiche.

The second started similarly, but diverged into something more unique around half way, so it was more interesting to me than its predecessor.

The third was the most liberated in story telling, using snippets of visual flashbacks with version dinosaurs instead of recreating entire scenes - and I found it to be the most enjoyable to watch. But still an empty experience.

I'd rather watch the original Jurassic Park movie than any of the 5 sequels. This recent trilogy solidifies the opinion that Treverrow is definitely not someone whose name attracts my attention.

I would definitely love to see a story of Young Owen Grady interning as a young dinosaur handler. Maybe meet Blue in a rather unfortunate situation and we get to see him win his famous motorbike from the first movie through the spice mines, a name of a secret underground gambling casino.

They could even call it
"Grady: A Jurassic World Story"

Dominion is already marketed as the end of the jurassic era (at least here in my country) so, just stop making them.

Make a TV show about them bringing all the dinosaur together in a zoo. And the show is just about the people in the zoo taking care of the dinos and sometimes someone goes into the T-Rex enclosure for a selfie and gets eaten. Parks and Rec but they're in charge of a dino zoo, and sometimes an evil government conspiracy wants to steal the dinosaurs.

And the ethical dilemmas are just normal zoo ethical dilemmas.

Yeah, that's still a bit of an outlier. There are always random casualties but usually the people who get developed even a little who get eaten are getting some kind of comeuppance, and this particular death still stands out as odd.
Didn't Dominion only have one random casualty? The scooter guy? Maybe two if you count that guy who caught fire but he was in an underground poaching ring so 'bad guy'.

Weren't there a bunch of people who got eaten or shredded in Malta? Maybe it was only those two you mentioned, they definitely stood out.

They literally introduce a "Dangerous Species Division" in this film. Like if that isn't a weekly NBC procedural waiting to happen, then what is

In the dinosaur justice system, the dinosaurs are represented by two separate yet equally important groups. The Dangerous Species Division who investigate crime and the zoo keepers who cage the offenders. These are their stories.

Haters gonna hate. Opinions that Dominion was awful doesn't mean much. Nothing awful about the box office earnings. That's what matters.
