These are REGISTERED black voters. Outside of my college circles most of my peers dont even bother to register to vote.

Edit: I tried real fucking hard to encourage them in 2016, but Hillary was just NOT it or they rightfully had zero faith in either candidate.

That clearly says eligible voters. Pew Research considers any legal citizen of voting age to be an eligible voter.

If Biden hasn't been good after 50 years, he never will be.

And if he is merely good enough to get rid of Trump, you have to make up your own mind. It's a meaningful election when so few votes decided the last one.

If you want to support the republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, you don't need to explain your choice to me.
Really out here supporting Donald Trump by uh *checks MAGA manifesto* write in voting for a socialist and electing candidates from the opposing party that he sees as fundamentally against him.

Either Trump or Biden will be elected president. Not voting for the candidate who is better but not best only helps elect the candidate who is worst.

By that logic I can also be hurting Trump by not putting in my vote for him since Biden has been killing it. If yall think Biden is a shoe in start acting like it instead of treating him as the supposed loser. All Biden has to do is beat the low voter turnout from 2016. If thats still a struggle than maybe the DNC should do some serious introspection.

Acting like a candidate is a shoe in is one of the reasons trump got elected.

Also a ton of people ran in the Democratic
Primary. More people voted for Biden the others, DNC had nothing to do with it.

Blame the voters if your candidate didn't win and blame the voters of enough don't show up to vote in November .

What are you saying with this? That Biden should some how get backpats for owning up to lying or that his recent comments in the OP shouldn't be taken seriously?
that complaining about how many pages a thread gets, like another user did, is fucking stupid and meaningless. maybe my comment wasn't clear enough.

I'm just waiting for the day when Biden proudly proclaims that he hasn't dropped an n-bomb since 1974 or something.

Oh, I don't know.
How is this relevant? The number of voting locations was reduced due to the COVID outbreak and the GOP-held Wisconsin Supreme Court upholding the primary election so they could try to strong arm an additional seat. I think Bernie's issue here was more this:

Edit: Also, everyone else, I'm sorry for going off-topic but this was misinformation that I thought should be answered. I can remove if need be.

Jfc. I get the context, but yikes all the same.
"More electable" they said. Didn't mainstream dems declare Hillary "more electable" too?

Bernie was too good for us.

Bernie was too good for us.

Bernie committed the two biggest gaffes of the campaign in the same weekend.

Gaffes hurt when they appear to reveal something about someone that people suspected but they carefully hid. Biden's pretty transparent so even though he'll flub up constantly on the trail, it's not like he's doing so because he's protecting his image from his own beliefs. He's just running his mouth too much, which tbh is something that someone in the Senate for decades is going to kind of do and you can't unprogram it from them.

I think Biden may have finished himself with this gaffe

LMAO please.... Even though people love to try; Black votes won't ever be the reason that the Republicans win an election in this country. Yall funny though, keep on cruising past those threads of people being devastated by the slow reaction to covid, Trump making an ass out of himself with the Ford comments and more just to find a Biden gaffe and once again conclude that the sky is falling.

Good lord I cannot wait until Trump is out of office. Im going to unload on all the people peddling the Teflon Trump bullshit, I swear. No doubt about it, the two worst things Trumps time in office has brung is the overly defeatist nonsense and the "See this is why Trump got elected" crap from right wingers.

I feel the general sentiment in this thread is more that people are frustrated over how Biden is presented as the obvious "no questions asked" choice for black people simply because Trump is worse, and that you're essentially forced to support and accept shit you never would have otherwise if it wasn't for being handcuffed to a binary decision between two people you don't want in office. At the end of the day you have the choice to affect if Donald Trump is president or not, but the expectations that this is good enough is kinda offensive.

And yet, Biden also won the black vote overwhelmingly during the primary, no?

He surges in the polls when he stays in lockdown out of sight of microphones

Is this true? lmao. Im imagining how my personal ego would be taking that if it were happening to me. Campaign advisors legit trying to figure out ways to tell this man to shut up. The visual has me rolling.

Who screwed Bernie besides the voters

Do you think Biden reflects only the will of the voters, and the DNC played no role in putting their thumb on the scale with aggressive propaganda, endorsements, misinformation, and bullshit that swayed lower information voters?

Mind you it's not offensive to call people low information voters when it's objectively true that most people rely on endorsements because politics is time consuming. Low-information voters are acting rationally by giving politics the attention it deserves but the trade-off is that we need to have a fair and impartial media which we don't. The DNC and its media allies tilted the election in its favor. People mistakenly believed that Biden supported medicare-for-all which is definitely not true. It's not just a matter of voters picking Biden, it was tilted in Biden's favor.

I don't think it's your call to make if they're offended by being called "low information voters" or not. Especially when it's been consistently used as a dog whistle when Biden started to win during the primaries.

Joe Biden was lying about his NAACP endorsement in today's interview?

www.naacp.org

New & Now

Find all the news you need on the most pressing social justice issues, along with politics, Black history, and culture content from The Crisis magazine.

Yesterday, former Vice President Joe Biden made a comment about the NAACP's endorsement. We want to clarify that the NAACP is a non-partisan organization and does not endorse candidates for political office at any level. Persons affiliated with the NAACP at the national, state, and local levels are free to make candidate endorsements in a personal capacity, but they do not reflect support by the NAACP as an organization. The NAACP has one mission and that is fighting for and advancing our Black communities towards an equitable reality. Our primary focus at this moment is to ensure that our communities that have been victims of domestic terrorism and disproportionately impacted by this pandemic have the opportunity to cast their powerful vote come November.

What's up with that?

Hes obviously right, statistically.

But there are things, that really don't need to be said out loud in such brash and off the cuff ways.

Edit:

Actually, wait wait wait.

Joes just telling it like it is!!!!

It took them 8 hours to put some text on a picture?
It took eight hours to photoshop black text on a white tee, okay
You don't have to play dumb to avoid commenting positively on the workflow there just because it's a dumb thing being done by bad people in service of awful goals. 8 hours after the comment went to air, Trump's store has a range of merchandise with the quote on it available for purchase, with advertising copy including a youtube video and an SMS code. It's not mindblowing speed or particularly high quality content, and it's certainly not an insurmountable obstacle for Biden, but it's clearly a well resourced machine at work.

In the context of this thread, you'd think avoiding talking about "low information voters" and the black support of Biden might be a smart move.

I didn't say anything about black voters. I wasn't even talking about black voters. If anything I was thinking about folks like my mom who thought that Bernie Sanders was supported by Russia which is a piece of bulshit that the DNC spread.

Low-information voter is a term used by political scientists. That's where I heard it from. You're just trying to paint me as a racist to get me banned because I'm from the faction you don't like. Rational ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of. I am rationally ignorant about NASCAR and the NFL.it doesn't even mean someone is stupid. It just means that someone doesn't pay very much attention to a subject that doesn't really concern them.

Not everything is some grand conspiracy perpetrated by the DNC. Besides, this thread is about Biden putting his foot in his mouth again and not how Russia sought to help boost the Sanders campaign as a means of sowing division in 2016 and 2020 as intelligence officials have claimed.

Uh, no? And again, you're making the assumption that people that voted for Biden are ignorant and don't pay attention to politics. This was said, at length, after the South Carolina primary and beyond. I'm just asking you not to make generalizations about people that didn't vote for your preferred candidate, especially when the methods being used have been done as a means to cast blame on certain voters for Biden's lead.
