My professionally designed Last Bible 3 boxart for anyone interested

Do the previous games need to be played to appreciate the story (do they even have translations)?

The volcano area works correctly there are no issues. He can't be using the latest patch.

Thanks for looking into this, guys. I recreated my sfrom from scratch using sfrom tool and the patch from Robin's latest pack (linked in second post). I'm wondering if my old sfrom didn't get overwritten properly. In any case, looks like I'll have to recreate the SFROM using the latest patches again and retest. Pleased this is an issue on my end, and not a wider problem.

I figured. The problem is since most people don't follow the RHDN thread, they don't know when there's a latest patch, so they probably downloaded the patch on demi's doc, or robin's pack some time ago and have no idea the patch has been updated since then, specially since neither doc nor pack says when the patch was last updated in the first place. Not even my own doc lol.

Anyway, thanks for the test Bosco and aidan you can find the latest patch here:
http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=25789.msg355678#msg355678

Remember not to load an old save state with the new patch, always load from the sram.

Ahh. Yeah. That explains it. I figured Robin's pack had the latest version of the patch. Thanks again!

Doubt it. Previous two games are on the Gameboy and GB Color.

First game was remastered as Revelations the Demon Slayer for the GBC.

Even if it did, you always need to create a new sfrom file. Since people don't know what patch has been updated, then they don't re-build their roms.

EDIT: Figured out the issue. As ReyVGM mentioned, I was loading my save via my savestate, rather than the cartridge save. Restarting the game and loading the cartridge save resolved the issue.

Thanks so much for the help.

Doing some testing ReyVGM you have SD Gundam G-Next listed as DSP-3 while its SA-1, it boots with 109C but has graphical issues

The top part of your report about it not booting is correct for GX, the stuff below that about the presets is for G-Next

Wonder if someone could help me out here.

I 'hacked' my SNES classic way back shortly after release when the hacking tools were still in beta versions and I used Hakchi2 0.2rc5
I'd like to add a new more games to my classic, but I'd also like to make sure I'm using the most up to date stuff. Is there any kind of guide available for going from an older tool like this to the current ones?
Will I need to re-flash my classic with the original firmware backup I took? If I do that will I lose my save games and save states?

Just wanted to show some appreciation here for all the work being put in.

What's the end game here? A version of hackchi that allows 100% compatibility with the SNES library into Canoe? Patches done automatically, a checking tool so you know if you have a compatible ROM, artwork added automatically? I appreciate that's not what you guys are doing now but you're doing all the hard work that could make that possible. Or so it appears to me anyway.
End goal is to try to get as many as possible running. Helping sluffy as much as possible, give him everything he wants and needs, so he doesn't burn out or feel ignored.

Hakchi is really a different project with different end goals. I'm not sure of the current state of it, but it was certainly moving a lot slower than sluffy.

To get the sort of all encompassing system you've described would mean people would need to work together a lot better than they have so far. For example SFROM tool + hakchi combination is really not as tight as it could be.

Clever idea, getting the transparency to work on an ID where sram is fine, rather than the vice versa. Sluffy is great. <3
I'm constantly amazed how this has all turned out.

Ugh well hopefully Sega has worked more closely with Atgames on this version to make it a better representation of the Genesis? I mean they're claiming new and improved tech

System is the right size at least

Sorry, this question might seem stupid but I want to know:

When I run Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) on retroarch, I always have this flickering on the bottom left screen area.
Is this something I can fix or is this just how NES games are emulated? I heard it has to do with the nes, originally running on tube TVs, where this issue was not really visible.

On my HD TV however, it's quite distracting. :(

Any solution to this issue?

You mean to the right of the screen, no? It's the right part of the screen that normally has glitchy graphics.

And this is why:

Like you said, on old CRT TVs it was usually hidden by the overscan. Unless Retroarch or the emulator core within has a setting to adjust some sort of fake overscan, then there's nothing you can do about it...

Video or it didn't happen.

In this video, you can see it.

During gameplay inside levels, there is some kind of white bar flickering in the bottom left area (right above the HUD). It's very small, but noticeable imo.

Is this normal? Because I cannot remember this happening at all. :D

Bad emulation. FCEU has it, but not VirtuaNES or NesterJ.

See if you can use a different NES core, or just add the NES Classic kernel so you can play NES games with Nintendo's official emu Kayak.

For this I need to upgrade to Hakchi CE right? I am still using version 2f from Cluster.

Maybe today I will try to get up to date.

Thank you!

Its a shame to see sluffy beat himself up when he doesnt seem to make progress on stuff. Everyone has an off day. Then suddenly he turns around and fixes KDL3, Jurassic Park and Kunio-Kun, along with making progress on other games as well.

He's hard on himself? (Must be on another board.) I wonder if he knows about this thread and the appreciation that he's given here.

Yea I just saw this tweet. Yuck

Not to derail too much, but did anyone ever find a way to mod the Sega Genesis Collection on Steam to let you add your own ROMs? I just wanted to know if there was a mod to expand the bookshelf UI to include the games of your choice.

I would suggest you edit that comment. Mods here do not condone piracy and I'm actually amazed no one has closed this thread already. Today a thread asking about PS2 emulation was closed and the OP was banned for asking less of what you did.

Hey I'm just sayin'.

He's talking about adding illegal roms to a Steam release. Better safe than sorry.

It may have been discovered what the VC patch for Rudra does. Can you post what exactly the patch does? I recall you did something similar for another patch before. Check rhdn thread for more info.

edit: Nevermind apparently just the Preset ID fixes the small issue

Well given how much the VC patch is doing, I guess it doesn't hurt that I posted it now.

Could you record a Ys 5 video to check for the flickering? Sluffy has been waiting on one for a few days now.

Here's a save in the first town to avoid the intro:

Just go up to leave the town, then go all the way right. Jump around, attack, get hit, etc., and record the flickering if it happens.
