Slightly regretting not opting for 16GB over 8GB for my parents' rig, because I noticed the integrated graphics using almost 2GB of the available RAM. (Though this was after I fired up Portal 2 just to try out Steam's Big PIcture mode.)
Does Windows automatically scale its VRAM usage as necessary or will I need to poke around in the BIOS and limit it there? I guess I could just cold boot the system tonight to see what it reads, but I've already packed it all up. :P
It seems to just use 2gb regardless of what's being done - I had Steam and MPC running and it was still saying 2gb used for graphics. I think it does scale, but proportionally based on how much you have, so adding another 8gb stick will just let it automatically use, like, 4gb. I think.
