I have a 4k but without HDR. What I don't know won't hurt me. Right?

Honestly I don't have a 4k console. Only have my og xbone and switch connected to it. 4k PC gaming on my monitor though.

I really only ever need a TV if one is going out, so all the TVs in my house are 1080p. 1080p is also still good too.

I have a 4K TV, but not for console gaming. The most powerful console I own is a base PS4. But one day it'll pay off!

I have a 4K TV for my consoles and PC, and a 4K monitor for my PC, and a 1440p 144hz Gsync monitor for my PC.

I switched from 1080P 28" TV that I had for like 10 years to a 4K/HDR 50" TV around a year ago. I felt like my entire life changed.

Seeing as I just got my 1080p TV in 2016 and the only device I have capable of utilizing 4K is my PS4 Pro, I have no interest getting a 4K TV anytime soon.

I may jump in if I get a next-gen console.

I'm still using an 8-9 year old 1080p TV that I will replace with 4K when it dies - not necessarily because I have a lot of stuff that works in 4K (I don't) but because that's just what's available now.

You could probably poll people on the age of their TV.

Waiting on PS5 before I upgrade to 4K. Sony might have a line of TV's with the PS5 in mind.

I have a 4k tv with a PS4 connected to it (mostly used by my girlfriend) and a 1080p projector with a Switch connected to it (mostly used by me.)

I've got an XoX hooked up in my 4k

Shadow of the tomb raider looks AMAZING in 4k. It's hard for me to go back to 1080p, even if it offers incentives like 60fps modes, when shit looks so good in 4k.

Nah, I've been putting off getting one until:

a) a certain level of quality that was normally restricted to higher end becomes more accessible.
b) processors on smart TVs were "good enough" that they didn't hamper core experience
c) a lot of content I'd want is reasonably available in 4K

So in the I just figured I'd wait until next generation consoles are out and pick up a good quality set at that point. This also comes with the side bonus of me being able to put a little bit of cash to the side over time and buying the TV not being as huge a hit as it would normally be etc.

Moved recently and bought a 4k TV that was on clearance. I don't actually have any 4k capable consoles to hook up to it, but the only other options at the store were 720p TVs.

Let me put it this way. I didn't even get a HDTV until 2011. For a good 4 years or so I couldn't even read the writing in my games but I still wouldn't get a new TV. When 1080p makes writing in games unreadable that's when I'll consider going 4K. Consider.

I do. I will buy a new one once the next gen machines come out though and put this one in a different room. I have also been going on a crazy 4K UHD purchase frenzy lately.

I have a 60" 4K HDR TV with both a PS4 Pro and X1X. However I will say that in my experience, anything 1080p and above looks fine to me with good anti-aliasing. True 4K resolution is not worth the performance loss or other sacrifices they make to achieve it in my opinion.

Not yet. I have a Mac mini and a PS4 Pro hooked on the TV and 4K has been whatever for me, with the PS4 Pro not being a 4K machine and not wanting to needlessly push my Mac.

Would be more interested in a great 1080p HDR TV going into next gen but I know that won't happen.

1080p for me. I'll probably be 1080p until my television breaks. I've reached that point in my life where buying a new television because it will make my games look slightly sharper is no longer a viable option.

I have a 2014 Vizio P Series 65 inch 4k. It is an awesome TV. It was created before HDR on TVs was a thing. I'm missing out on sweet HDR action on my movies and games. I plan to upgrade this fall to a newer 65 inch 4K HDR TV probably VIzio PQX or TCL 8 Series.

Currently only 1080p. Once it stops working I'll upgrade to whatever the current technology is.

1080Ps still for me. On the one hand I want to upgrade, on the other hand my TV still works fine and I'm kind of against throwing away stuff that still works fine. TVs used to last twenty years easily and were not nearly as bad for the environment as LCDs.
