With Supernatural finally coming to an end and The Boys rolling forward at full steam, I've come to realize that I'll pretty much watch any show that involves Eric Kripke. I even liked Revolution.

Do you have any TV showrunners whose involvement alone is enough to entice you to watch?

I have two: Kripke, as mentioned above, and Vince Gilligan because I loved both Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. Close third and fourth are probably Jon Favreau (who just have produced enough TV content quite yet for me) and David Simon (because of The Wire, but I didn't bother to stick with Treme or watch the porn one. I'd still be at least interested with just his name though).

On the cartoon side, Greg Weisman. Maybe Dave Filoni, but I feel the latter is more that I'm watching more for Star Wars than for him.

What about you?

100% Greg Weisman. Though I still haven't seen season 3 of Young Justice.

Sam Esmail has probably earned it on my end, running Mr. Robot and directing the first season of Homecoming.

Frank Darabont got me to watch The Walking Dead, then when they fired him for season 2 I stopped watching.

I'm more than aware his name these days doesn't do much for many, but I'm always up for more Whedon TV material. Wish he'd create something new again. But after Firefly and Dollhouse and with the success of Agents, doubt that'll be anytime soon.

Steve Conrad has at least one guaranteed viewer (me), after running The Patriot, and to a slightly lesser extent, Perpetual Grace Ltd.

He's even show runner.

To answer the question posed in this thread: I'm also a fan of lots of the folks mentioned here - Kripke, Gilligan, and Lindelof and would watch anything they attach their names to.

And after Misfits and Future Man, I suppose I will check out the next thing Howard Overmon does. Same with Simon Barry (Continuum, Warrior Nun).

Bill Lawrence. Scrubs was seminal TV for me, and I'll always give whatever he's doing a watch. Cougar Town got me chuckling on more than one occasion, and Ted Lasso is opening up massively now, love it

Bryan Fuller is at the top of my list. Wonderfalls, Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, Hannibal. Hell, I even loved the pilot for the Munsters reboot.

To round out the list David Simon, Vince Gilligan, Greg Daniels, and Michael Schur.

I know some hate him like poison but I am immediately interested in anything Lindelof does in TV. David Simon, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Mike Schur too.

I don't think Vince Gilligan is actually the BCS showrunner is he? I thought it was Peter Gould. Even so, I wouldn't necessarily say Gilligan because I totally passed on that Battle Creek show lol. Same with Weiner -- loved Mad Men, but had no interest in The Romanoffs.

The funny part is his former Lost co-showrunner, Carlton Cuse, is like the opposite now. It's kryptonite to me.
I know some people really liked Bates Motel so maybe it really took off later on, but I watched the first couple episodes post-Lost and it was so bad. The pilot features I think the most casual depiction of rape I might have ever seen in a show.

Can't believe no ones mentioned the criminally underrated Raphael Bob-Waksberg. He lead Bojack Horseman and the criminally underrated Amazon Prime short series Undone.

He's penned what I consider to be the definitive television work on depression. Plus he's incredibly forthcoming with past failures he's made as a writer (particularly around Diane in Bojack) and is very transparent when it comes to inclusion and diversity in both his writing and casting. His best works are absolutely ahead of him.

Michael Schur and Bill Lawerence.

Schur has three fantastic series under his belt, and I will continue to watch anything new he produces.

Lawerence made Scrubs, but more importantly, he made a very special episode of Clone High.

Cougar Town was pretty good, too.

The only one that instantly comes to mind is David Simon, thanks to The Wire, Show Me A Hero which I dont think gets enough love, Generation Kill etc. although come to think of it I havent watched The Deuce or The Plot Against America so that gives me something to do this week.

Schur esp after Good Place
Sam Esmail after Mr. Robot
Kripke after The Boys
Gilligan after Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul
Cary Fukunaga after True Detective s1

I almost want to put people like David Simon (Wire) but i didn't follow him to Treme and whatever other show he's done recently, and there are a few others like that whose shows I really enjoyed but their follow ups didn't sound that interesting so I lost interest
