Anyone who doesn't shower in the morning, after lunch, in the early afternoon, and then again just before sleep is awful. I don't want to be around filthy disgusting animals who don't shower at LEAST 4 times per day.

I tend to shower in the evening as I find it better to have minimal things to do before leaving to go to work in the morning (I work flexi hours so the earlier I get in the earlier I can get out). I'm a terrible morning person and any reason I have to procrastinate and stay in bed I'll do... it just suits some people to do it then more than others.

Does getting it on count as dirty

Only if you are doing it right.

Bathing at night is the norm here but I dont really like anything more than showers anyway. I personally mix it up but generally do both in terms of night versus morning. I got into the habit a bit back when I used to have to bath my son at night. In the morning then, you dont really have much to do, so it is more of a waker upper and helps me shave. I skip the night one though if I just fall asleep on the couch or something. If I have had too much to drink but still have my wits about me enough to make myself do it, having a shower at night kind of helps I think, if only because I dont feel just so gross when I wake up.

You get dirty and sweat during the day. Why would you bring that into bed? The answer is you don't. That's why you shower right before going to bed.

So do all night shower people have sex somewhere away from their precious pristine bed and then only afterward take their shower to insure the sanctity of their sheets?

Weekend has begun I see.

Thread is making me chuckle at both sides meeting the other and being shocked it's the norm for them. Like the old sit down and stand up to wipe threads.

Morning-only showers (save sports, labour etc.) is what I'd guess at being the standard around me but personally sometimes can't beat a good hot bath or shower after a hard day. Relaxes the muscles and mind.

Can't say showering is a topic that comes up much in general with others but it is unusual to see such a strong reaction against morning people as it does seem the norm from my experience. Thread might be the first time I've seen people suggest it's unusual.

Eh I shower before bed/ in the evening and in the morning before going to work.

Didn't know some people only shower once a day, I guess me staying at tropical country has something to do with it.

Shower when I get home from work in the evening - get rid of the sweat and just scrub London off me.

This thread is fucking with my perception of what is considered normal. I've basically grown up taking morning showers almost exclusively. I can't leave the house before i take a shower. Even when I do take night time showers (usually after working out or as a nice relaxing bonus) my hair still gets messed up from sleeping. I work an office job so im not actually doing any physical activity and don't consider myself too dirty to get into bed at night.

Same here haha. I get the idea of having a shower before bed, and very occasionally I might have one myself to relax or if I had a very particularly active day. But other than that it's always been morning showers for me. I don't think I could comfortably go to work in the morning without having a shower, even if I had one before bed. I don't sweat a lot during the night that I know of, but I'd still feel dodgy about it, especially for my hair. And doing both seems like it's not exactly good for the environment.

I'm actually really surprised it's this one sided. I feel like most people I know only shower in the morning too :/

I already have to get up super early to go to work, so during the week I'll always shower before going to bed so that I don't have to get up even earlier to take a shower first.

Shower in the morning after my run and then shower later in the evening after i get off work and workout. Never right before bed and the days i don't workout or run after work i don't shower till the next morning because i sit in a chair all day for work and im not terrified of a few germs.

both…?

how can you get into a bed and sleep after a whole day since showering in the morning?? all that sweat, dead skin, etc. the shower gets rid of that. you go straight into bed with that? and everyone sweats, i don't mean sweating profusely like it's a hot summer day, but you still sweat.

the bed must be filthy. and i remember a thread a long time ago where people said they only washed their linen every couple of months. wonder what the venn diagram is like.

if only had a choice of 1 shower a day, then i'd def choose before bed. because at least it would fit my exercise schedule too, since I do that in the evening.

the only time i skip night shower is if i've been partying and we come home too drunk to bother lol

Shower with all the soaps and shampoos at night. Face wash etc. Rinse in the morning real quick.

I do if I have to get up hecka early. Both because it's rational and a time saver, but also so I don't wake up the household. I also put anti-perspirant on after I shower just before bed, because if I sweat in my pits all night, then I'm gonna need to shower again in the morning. So full disclosure, I simply brish my teeth, wash my face and apply a second coat of pit chalk.

It's also kind of relaxing to have a brutally hot shower right before bed - and I sleep very hot, so the residual moisture on my skin has a cooling effect, even after drying thoroughly.

I definitely shower before bed, I don't want to lay in my own dirt all night.
I only shower in the morning (again) if I actually sweat at night.

I don't think there is a "normal" version here, both are pretty reasonable.
But that's a boring thing to say on the internet so let me tell you that you morning showerers are barely living creatures in my eyes

I couldn't start the day without a shower. Equally, I like to be fresh for bed. Good thing it only takes a few minutes to get a shower.

Have there been studies done to show how much, on average, people stew in their own farts under the sheets at night?

We all float down here.

Going to bed without showering is nasty to me. You have an entire day's worth of grime on you. Did you take a dump today? Yes? So then factor that in with all of the other bodily secretions you'll be taking to your nice cozy bed with you.

Lastly, if you put any kind of product into your hair that shit is not fun to sleep with at all because it tends to trap in heat and I don't know about you but I sweat a lot more on my pillow if I haven't washed it out.

Have been an evening-shower type all of my life and to be honest never understood the morning-shower thing.

Let's say you shower in the morning, then you have your typical, say, office day und go do some sports in the afternoon. Do you then not shower after sports or do you then shower once after sports and then again the morning? Because both is bad (one because your sheets are filthy after like two days, the other one because showering that often is terrible for your skin).

This thread happened a lot on gaf and I'd imagine other "general" forums as well. Same with tipping, circumcision, reclining seats, animals, etc. it's always heated.

Nah don't sweat it, this thread is filled with a bunch of overly hostile weirdos, it's insane. Like what is this:

Not our fault you like your bed to smell like sweat, shit, and piss. I shower before bed and anyone who doesn't is def not sleeping with me.

What are you doing during the day bruh, lmaoooooooooooo

As long as you're washing regularly it literally doesn't matter. Although if you're showering daily and you still feel like you're "marinating in your own filth" by bedtime you're either a germaphobe or you need to see a specialist

For me it depends if I need to get up early the next day. If I do then I shower just before I go to sleep

Something I wake up sweaty and I'll jump in a quick shower, my preference is before bed but I often don't feel like it or I'm doing something else.

Also there's a reason people wash their sheets ya know. No matter whether you shower morning or at night, your sheets get dirty. So showering at night to "not get the sheets dirty" is a silly point, if you say you shower at night to feel clean when going to bed then that's a different thing.

Most people cycle/clean sheets every week. And for that reason showering only in morning is usually enough as it does provide something extra i.e. getting you clean to start your day off. Showing at night doesn't really provide anything extra to that measure.

Additionally, it doesn't really matter if it's winter or summer. Because if you wear thick and warm clothes in winters you'll sweat a lot in winters too.

You do know if you shower before bed you still excrete gross shit while you sleep right? Showering when you wake is the correct way.
