I've heard the argument that the fact this is even a category of porn is demeaning to trans people, as it calls them out as "different" than other people.

They suggest it should be de-categorized.

What do you think?

There is a category for everything in porn, why would this be demeaning

I understand the existence of category because porn loves a subcategory. There are probably categories for women being naked while playing mario kart.

That being said, the weird part is not having a category, is they being EXCLUSIVE to said category.

Like there are categories for black cis women but when you click general women porn you see a black women here and there. Why trans women should be different ?

I would be more offended that incest porn of all types seems like the biggest thing ever now...

I mean, Bowser and sodding Bowsette have a category

Porn doesn't discriminate. It's porn. If it has sex, it's on the list. If it doesn't have sex, it's still on the list.

There are 100 different way to describe men and women in porn already. If we are offended by "trans-porn," should people be offended by BBW, pawg, premature, saggy hangers etc?

They could rename it because I'm pretty sure it's still called 'shemale' in a lot of places, but literally everything is a category so I don't really see it as a trans-specific thing.

Cuckolding porn is dehumanizing to black men due to the nature of it but at the end of the day it's their fantasy. You can't control what other people want to sexually fantasize about as long as it's legal.

I absolutely hate when redheads get their own category. Or when blondes get their own category. Or when older people get their own category. It's like some people have preferences when masturbating

Bukkake should be de-categorized. The word bukkake is often used in Japanese to describe pouring out a liquid with sufficient momentum to cause splashing or spilling. Indeed, bukkake is used in Japan to describe a type of dish where hot broth is poured over noodles, as in bukkake udon and bukkake soba. The usage of it in porn devalues the specialty of Japanese food.

Pornsites should remove it so people can properly watch bukkake eating videos on mainstream sites like Youtube.

Curiously, some sites seem to launch completely different homepages for gay and transgender porn

Nearly all porn is demeaning. Not that I'm against decatagorization of trans-porn but I'm simultaneously supportive of the decatagorization of Asian, Ebony, Interracial, and other such social identity fetish stuff. Deep throat can stay obviously, that's identity-neutral.

Definitely remove the pseudo incest/barely legal stuff like yikes.

The content in question is made to specifically highlight the physical characteristics of trans people. Thus, the category is legitimate.

Personally I think trans should be de-categorised yes. It's easy for me to say as a pansexual, but porn is already a minefield of weird shit I don't want to see and trans or intersex folk is not one of the things that puts me off. I wonder if it's really right that anyone should feel otherwise? Seems like a lot of that may stem from homophobia really... Like if you go to a porn site not expecting to see various naked strangers who may or may not fit your tastes... i um... i dunno what to tell you?
If it were up to me, porn would be set out like a dating site, where you use a tags-like system to "opt in" to categories you are interested in. And by default, all races and genders (and trans/cis status) would be included as "normal" and you then can opt out of certain genders or ethnicities and into like... foot stuff or people bathing in baked beans or whatever.

But even with porn sites set up as they are today, there's no excuse for using inaccurate, misgendering terms like "Shemale" or "Trap". I've asked some trans women friends and they tend to agree that "chicks with dicks" would still be less offensive, because at least that describes a certain identity for how it is. But the preferred goal is of course not to be treated as abnormal, nor misrepresented as a narrow stereotype when trans people can have quite a range of appearances and sexual characteristics.

Wouldn't there be a giant fight over whether the creators or the consumers get to use the term "transporners"?

You would be making it hard for people who want and don't want to watch a transgender having sex

The only change that I would make is including lesbians in their own category or mixing them with gay, is weird to see the lesbian section being mixed with the straight porn

Don't agree. Most gay porn from the mainstream producers I have found to be rather supportive and empowering.

That isn't to say that gross shit doesn't exist.

The catalogory should stay because the category search filters are primarily on physical appearance first , interaction types second .

Everything needs a category, they can't just call it all sex and be done with it, how will people find what they are into if they are no specific categories? Sure, they can rename the categories to be less offensive, but otherwise categories are needed.

I feel like this is something that my answer doesn't really matter, since I'm not trans.
I do think there's something to be said about the fetishization of trans people while they still struggle for basic rights. That isn't to say trans pornstars shouldn't work, I'm aligning that issue more with the consumers of the porn than the creators.
I'd be interested in knowing more about how trans actors are treated in the industry as well.

There is a category for literally everything else when it comes to porn so why shouldn't there be one for that?

Otherwise we would just have one single "Sex" category and then the internet would cry.
