So far have landed probably $100 in free advance copies of books between Tor and Simon & Schuster booths, made it into the Turtle Lair gaming lounge and got a rare black&white print by Kevin Eastman with a signing ticket for him today, played some Street Fighter 6 as Jamie, went to Super 7 Cobra recruitment Center and got some stuff, and me and my wife made it in the standby line to the D&D Tavern Bar for drinks. That one was pretty rad.
At one point in the bar, it starts shaking and a dragon attacks the place and breaths steam into it while you are drinking. You see him fly in from the mountains in a back picture like a Universal ride.

And to the poster way above - Yes, there are plenty of comic books and comic book focused panels that aren't crazy packed. I hit a few of those yesterday too. And plenty of comic sales, especially that last hour of the last day. Previous years IDW, Image, and Dark Horse would go 50-75% off everything since they don't want to pack it up and return it. I walked out of there with a massive stack of heavy ass art books at least one year.

And going to be camping Hall H for WB, Marvel, House of Dragon, etc. tonight. Absolutely don't mind chilling on the back bay in line waiting. I'll bring a few books, my Switch, some food, a chair, and I'm good. It's not this horrible teeth pulling event it's made out to be - unless you are EXTREMELY unpatient. I'm a book reader. I don't get bored if I have one on me.

Honestly, despite what I said this does sound fun.

I have a couple friends in line to get wristbands for the Marvel panel. Can't help but feel like it'll be a shit show. Looking forward to hearing about how the line went, almost more than the panel itself haha

Yeah. I almost got into a fight in 2019. I waited for a day and didn't get a pass due to a group that bullied the line attendants

Shit like this makes me not want to go to ComicCon at all. Security should've tossed them out and banned them from the convention permanently.

This'll probably be answered closer to the panel, but does anyone have any links to any liveblogs for the upcoming Marvel Studios animation showcase?

Managed to get the Jurassic World Hammond Collection Outhouse set before it sold out. The last few Jurassic items usually took a while to sell out, this one was gone in 15-20 minutes.

Where are all the comic announcements?
Comics Beat is your best bet for news on that stuff. I subscribe to their newsletter. https://www.comicsbeat.com

Also, I would pop into the monthly Comics thread in OT-Hangouts since that's the other way I keep track of comics news.

Someone say hi to Raging Spaniard and his wife if you see them. He's been tweeting about being there and copped a copy of Ogre Battle 64 (his wife probably has a table at Artist Alley or on the exhibit floor I imagine). They're lovely people.

SDCC is still on my bucket list as I consider it the holy grail of pop culture conventions. And I say that as someone who's worked at NYCC since 2011 and never missed one. NYCC is a very different beast from SDCC but similar in some ways. But I think it lost its luster over the years after PAX blew up; especially when it came back last year. Artist Alley is my favorite area when I'm not exclusive hunting. SDCC is the OG though where more of the bombast and spectacle is though.

Anyway, I was going finally going to volunteer at SDCC this year with my homeboy. But alas, I still don't feel comfortable jumping on a plane. Especially with the airline industry in the slump at the moment and flights so damn expensive. I love to do it next year for sure if things line up. Especially since I've never been to California.

Thanks for the link.

SDCC is quite the experience. I used to go when it was 20-25 dollars for a day šŸ˜‚

Marvel Studios got the game all fucked up.

Hope we get some good surprises from DC, their 2022 line-up isn't doing much for me atm. Shazam 2 should be good but Black Adam and The Flash aren't doing much for me atm, even without getting into Ezra Miller.

Watching the Picard panel. It's hosted by Lea Thompson! The new season will bring back the Next generation crew!

This question has probably been asked into oblivion but is there going to be a stream of some sort for Marvel or is everything just gonna flow in in trailer form?

If this was an E3, it felt like DC was Xbox One trying to sell DRM and Marvel was Sony with the anouncement of used games being compatible

Fuck the severance offsite šŸ˜. That shit filled up in seconds every day. Even when I got to register I couldn't just pick a new time after it said it was full. I had to refresh the page and fill the form out again.

Yeah the Severance and House of the Dragon offsite events were totally full when I tried to queue up. Oh well.

I was in the FX standby line for over 2 hours, to enter their walkthrough area, and whew boy, let me tell you that was totally not worth it. Mostly just a few photo ops, nothing mind-blowing.

The D&D tavern was dope though. The standby line wasn't too bad (~30 minutes) and the interior atmosphere was really well done, actors were fun, etc. Plus free booze.

Best place to ask this, I think: What was at the Dragon Ball Super Hero panel? I see tickets can be bought now. Was that it?

They had the japanese and english voice actors of Piccolo. They also showed the first 20 minutes of the movie. It looked fine. I'm not a big fan of the 3d stuff they've been implementing in the past few movies and that continues here. They talked about using 3d but adding touchups to make it look more natural. The first 20 minutes are pretty slow but there was a fight at the very end that looked really great.

The first 20 minutes focused on Dr. Gero's grandson.
