Anyone actually watch the whole thing? Does anything remotely interesting happen? It was cute for a bit.
What gets me is the it legit actually starts off the beginning of the movie, and then it just... transitions to that. Amazing.
the toes are def bulbous instead of tiny claws and they gave him a heel. its not that big of a deal but its certainly different.
Do you think drugs would have helped?

Sure but a less likeable or unknown actor would not be leaned on as heavily. As a marketing exercise the pre release promotion of the movie has been unusual and WB is not just brute forcing it with lots of ads and tie ins, especially having to follow Avengers
They went to where their audience is with a lot of YouTube/Twitter and social media ads. Several of the trailers were tweeted out by Ryan instead of being dropped by the studio
You can scrub through it with the mouse-over preview on desktop versions. It's just the same thing.

Then the marketing team knows how to use Reynolds in a way they'd probably hesitate to do with another actor. Either way, it makes the lead up feel fun.
They could have gone for the cute factor with a Classic style design... they could have gone for the cool factor with a Modern style design... and instead they went for the fear factor.
Having seen the movie, I can say that they all look this good. I have never bought/played a Pokémon game, but I would seriously consider picking up something with graphics akin to this.
Don't tell anyone, but I think I figured out the hidden message of the video:
