Why does it make you select a store again when your date changes? Just let me buy it and tell me to pick it up tomorrow instead of today.
This is the nonsense that kills me, especially if the implication is one was available if they just took us to the final checkout and changed the date there.

Where are you all even seeing these in-store pick up options for Best Buy? All the 3060tis appear to be online only.

I live in a metro area so I don't see how the 'none available within 250 miles' thing wasn't just a bug on their end.

I wasn't expecting to get one (I didn't), but this process was poorly designed. there are better anti-bot methods out there

Added the FE to my cart, but no stores available within 250 miles. I live in Austin, mind you.

Mess. Lol.

I'm in the club of "every shitty thing Best Buy did today happened to me"

Yeah. I had the email verification code again (happend when I order the PS5 and the 3070, but I managed to get those). Then it teased me with checkout by letting me select different stores that would fail. Then it did that error crash, then removed it from my cart eventually. Highs and lows all morning. Blegh.

Yeah. These stores have been doing online for years yet can't ever figure out a workable system.

Unofficial #'s had 140 total in stock, but that the employee expected them to be gone by 10:30 central. IIRC there were at least 60-80 in 'line'/listing waiting for one.

I'm debating running over there now (I need a case and some fans for the new build anyways), but it's a bit of a drive.

I wonder if someone put in 9am PST, instead of EST?
I drove to Microcenter and was able to get one. I appreciate the tip.

Which is the better buy Asus TUF gaming 3060 to or EVGA 3070 xc3 ultra? Price difference is almost 200 Canadian.

1440p is perfectly fine for me, I just hope the 3060 will last.

I managed to snag a 3060 to in store at Canada computers, but my friend has the 3070

I mean the 3070 is more powerful by definition but probably not $200 more powerful at 1440p and below.

Why is the MSI Ventus $10 more than the Gigabyte Gaming OC on Best Buy? Clearly the Gigabyte card is the better card with a triple fan design and higher listed boost clocks. When I saw them last night at Best Buy the Gigabyte models were higher in price but lowered this morning to the price I believe they were supposed to be. Same thing didn't happen with the MSI model though, still $450.

That was the same card I had in my cart. You must have beaten me to the punch by seconds.
The wild thing was that it went live about ten minutes early. I was just getting bored and mashing F5 when I saw it go live.
Was shitting myself as I rushed about to find my account log in details, but that card managed to stay in stock for a good 15 mins there. Impressive!

An additional ~10% performance doesn't seem worth $200 to me. From the few reviews I've seen, the 3060 Ti TUF is a really good cooler while most of EVGA's coolers seem average/mediocre.

I give up on these new cards. I got my fiancee a 1660 instead. Not ideal, but it will do until next year when hopefully things are easier to get.

Any idea why the Asus card MSRPs at $500?

What happened to the FEs being the premium-priced early-bird cards?

My local micro center has a lot of cards in stock, it's tempting to jump on the 3060 but really holding for the 3080

Will there be any end to the scalping of the newer cards? I mean we can reasonably guess that the 3060 will be $350. Which I guess would put the 3050 TI and 3050 at or close to $280 and $220 assuming they're RTX cards. Will scalpers still go after the lowly 3050 which I guess will have 2060 performance?

FE were only the premium that one time with the 10 series. Since 20 series they are one the few models that go for the lowest price. Plus Asus is always the one to release the most expensive models out of the gate. They haven't had cards priced at the bottom MSRP in forever.

when supply catches up to demand. might corelate to covid recovery

I worded that poorly. In the past I believe it was always the higher end cards that had this issue, but not really the lower end(correct me if I'm wrong though). But I feel like this time scalpers will just go after any new 30 series card(and 6000 series from AMD). It feels like it's just the thing to do now. Like if Nvidia released a RTX 3040 at $150, scalpers will buy them all too lol.

as long as demand is sky-high for every new thing, it won't matter how much it costs. I guess the lowest end stuff will end up in more pre-builts before DIY builds though.

Sorry, didn't mean the connect the 2 questions. I was curious what Asus is delivering to differentiate from the base card.

Thanks for the input, 3060 ti it is.

I wish some of you guys lived in Canada, it seems we have a relatively easy time getting stuff, but you'd have to deal with our taxes =/

I had it in my cart this morning from BB but it was already on 'backorder', so I decided to pass on it until the current situation improves. There's nearly zero chance I'll get a 5950x before February or March so I might as well just sit tight for the time being.

I went to microcenter after Best Buy failed. They had about 140 cards available when they opened. I got there at 12:30 and they still had plenty in stock, no founders editions left though.

I wanna try my "local" Microcenter but the two closest to me are each an hour away and I'm not interested enough to head down there to try, I can wait until I'm in the area.

It may be a matter of not having enough time to make all the different models with a cooler that fits their needs better, but like with the 3070, the two most expensive models from ASUS (TUF and STRIX) basically use the same heatsink and fans of the the 3080 and 3090 (you can see the empty space where the 3rd 8-pin power connector of the 3080 and 3090 goes). I think that as far as Asus is concerned (since the card is 200W) they are selling you a 3070 because they are not making money using those parts unless they price it like that. I haven't been following the reviews of the 3060ti to know if the boards Asus is using for those 3060ti models is also similar in components to the 3070, but I can see them recycling a lot of it since both cards use the same GA104 chip.

I'm not surprised there is high interest. The 20 series were so lackluster. I'm just frustrated I can't get a good upgrade for my 970 right now. Here's an instance where being patient hasn't paid off.

Anyone get an EVGA notification? I signed up on 12/1/2020 8:12:59 PM PT and they're sending emails out to those with ~7:00 AM time stamps.
