Likely so.
Not sure what's so surprising about this.
1060 was $300, 2060 was $350.
The name of the card has nothing to do with a market segment it is being sold in.

I think that all of these new cards are overpriced and to those looking for value and longevity I would recommend sitting this generation out.

I think people have been spoilt by tech youtubers. That's a perfectly fine cable job for a windowless case for sure.Eh it's in a non-windowed case and also an matx board in an atx case. Don't matter to me and actually most of it is necessary for the reach.
Atx board you wouldn't see any of that. Like I said it doesn't matter as It's not a windowed case.

My 4 year old 1070 runs most games above 70 or 80fps near ultra, don't scare the poor lad. New consoles might make games a bit more demanding but not by enough that you need to spend $600+ to be satisfied with 1080p performance. If anything i'd say that before considering RT, 1080p is pretty much killed with the 3070 and nothing will play below 100fps for years.A 3080 or 3090 then. That's what it takes for some recent games and it'll only get more demanding in the coming years
Eh, I don't disagree but I used to upgrade to a midrange card every 2-3 years. I agree they're too expensive, but I'm still rolling a 970 and it's been showing its age for a while now. I'd like to have something that can handle 1440p better, and there's just not a lot of options.
Honestly the crypto mining boom way back ruined the GPU pricing for good. Doubt we'll ever get back to those prices.
of course the lower end cards will get much more supply...meanwhile the cards everyone really wants won't be available until early 2021
Hey I had the same cards.I think we'll have to wait until the next graphics card generation to know for sure. Usually the better-value cards arrive a year or so after a console launch (8800 GT, GTX 970).
I mean, he's also asking for 120fps. Without a VRR monitor, getting a stable 120 in non-multiplayer games is gonna require sacrifices. 3060Ti uses the yield failures of the 3070 (difference of 5-10%) in order to avoid binning stuff. That chart suggests it's exactly the same as the 3070, (8-10%) what on Earth is happening at Nvidia?
Why not concentrate on a single sku production?

I want to eventually upgrade my PC so it's VR Ready, I have everything except and new GPU (Current is a 1060, 6GB). I think I'll still go for a 3070, but depending on the performance of the 3060TI I may go for that instead.
Probably the 3060 Ti or 3070.What do you guys think will be the cheapest RTX 3 series card that will do 1080p and 120fps for most AAA games in the next 2 years?
3060? 3050 Ti?
I mean yes, but they can still make 3060Tis without being failed yields from the 3070. It just means they are able to reuse some of the failed 3070s as a cheaper (and less powerful) card.Does that mean supply of the 3060ti will actually be the inverse of 3070 supply? If the yield failure rates are very high it means less 3070 stock but more 3060ti stock?
In theory it's equal to the Series X.What I'll be going for since 3070s don't exist.
How does this compare to what's in the new consoles?
Gonna have better RT performance than either, massive gains in games with DLSS. Non rt/dlss situations should be a bit above current consoles. What I'll be going for since 3070s don't exist.
How does this compare to what's in the new consoles?
Should be equal or a bit above in normal circumstances, but much better than both consoles with RT and DLSS enabled.
Good to know. Equal or better than XSX is what I've been going for with my new build. Only need this one now.Gonna have better RT performance than either, massive gains in games with DLSS. Non rt/dlss situations should be a bit above current consoles.
Yup. People here might be biased since everyone and their mother here have a xx70/80/90 series card. But those cards aren't affordable for the masses.Mid and low range cards tend to sell a lot more than high end cards, so it makes sense to have more supply. Card like the 3070 and up are only the cards that people tend to prefer in very niche enthusiast circles.
yeah, it's shit.
It's a new arch with a whole slew of improvements. Why keep the old one then? The performance of these new card seem very condensed to me. 3060ti is faster than a 2080 super and 3070 is sometimes barely faster than a 2080ti. I wonder the 3060ti exists because of a supply thing
220W, probably peaks at around 250
