They're going with a very liberal definition of superhero. lolAlso, I'm a fan of the movie and all, but what is Scott Pilgrim doing here? It may be a comic book movie, but it's not a "super-hero" movie.
No one can deny that that is indeed a list.
Not a good list, but a list nonetheless.
100% I know they put Zack Synders Justice League in the bottom slot to drive those fans to the site to spread their outrage. (I wouldn't even put it on a list of 100 movies).
Sure, I guess for my part once they announced that it was going to be two parts, it became obvious what was going to happen at the end of the movie and that it wouldn't matter because they were going to undo it in the next movie, undercutting any emotional weight it might've otherwise had.Infinity War probably gets a huge boost for its ending in particular (and its first scene really). And it also has the benefit of, to a large extent, introducing the biggest bad in the franchise so far (I know Thanos appeared earlier but in IW he's like an actual character who does things - a lot of things).
Superhero movies must not be very good if that is the best the genre has to offer.
In regards to Black Panther, I think it deserves its spot, but I get the adverse opinions.
For me, is BP is a great movie? Not quite, although this isn't a controversial take for me because I don't think most of the MCU films are great movies. The MCU sits at around a C+ average for me, grading the films. Most of the films aren't that great.
BP is helped, though, by the fact that it was a creative departure for the MCU at the time. And, without it, there are several films on the list that wouldn't have been made. BP signaled to Feige that there was a market for MCU films that branched off from what was the hardened formula at the time.
That's my hot-take, at least. ymmv
