Not saying the airstrikes are justified, rocket fire is continuing from Gaza. Not saying the rocket fire isn't justified as well either.

Rhetoric from the U.S has ramped up, no one is mentioning the right to self-defense anymore. Hopefully this ends within the next 2 days.

I get what you're saying but you have to understand these people have nothing. This has been happening for decades. Look how many illegal settlements israel has built with them launching rockets. Imagine if they didn't?
the protest, they're sprayed with skunk water and attacked by police. They throw rocks they're shot at, often at times with live ammunition. It gets to a point where people have enough. They're sick of being treated like dogs that there last card is rockets

anyone who supports Israel is either uneducated on the topic or is and just has a hatred of muslims or is Zionist and doesn't care

I hope these deaths serve as a wake up call to anyone who's ever supported Israel and/or continue to enable and protect their horrific actions from criticism.

You are on the wrong side of history. You're no better than those who stood by and watched—or cheered for—previous genocidal regimes.

Sorry to hear about this man

Fuck Israel

Thank you.

It is really beyond what people ever expected and way worse than 2014. The Rimal neighborhood is where most of my relatives live and it is usually less affected, as it mainly consist of families originating from Gaza (as roots pre-48) and who are to a much lesser degree involved in Hamas, but that doesn't matter.

Like I said earlier, seems like the plan from here on out is to bomb people every night. The thing that gets me is that they do it at night now. Imagine not being able to sleep and fearing the night because that's when the assault gets intense. This kind of thing should stay in fairy tales that have monsters showing up at night. Not in real life.

And like you are saying, this time has been getting worse and worse the more time goes and it is looking like it will take a while to end. It is such a frustrating thing to see and be powerless about. The governments around the world mostly don't care and Israel will get away with it. Only thing that is actually good this time is the fact the social media is helping people see the injustice and the pain that is being caused. In the west bank it is already hard to live in so just think how much worse Gaza is faring due to its nature being an open prison that is being bombed to hell and back. I feel terrible whenever I think about the current massacre that is going on.

I am hoping that something will be done soon but sadly the feeling in my heart is that it nothing will be done even with the current support the country is getting.

Remember that the US could have ended this years ago. They could have stopped israel but they don't.
they only reserve sanctions for stopping Russia from enacting nordstream 2 and crippling economies to enforce regime change

Like i said, I'm okay with Hamas launching attacks. I'm just pointing out both sides continue to fire off, in response to each successive attack prior. i.e, we have to hope the ceasefire and international pressure gets Israel to stop the bombings and gets Hamas to hold fire.

Innalilahi Wainailahi-rajiun.

The only way I can accept their death as being needless is to know that they are martyrs. They will attain a higher level than any of us could ever wish for.
I can not cope with the fact that we are living in 2021, and have the need to view a 6 month old baby as a martyr because we damn well know they will not get any earthly justice from the international community.

Just awful

Been following a lot of Gazans on Twitter and now I have to check regularly on their posts just to make sure they're still alive.
I've prayed, donated, protested, used #tags but it still feels not enough.

These individual stories of tragedy and loss of life are coming in so quickly and in such large numbers, that we can't even compile them in the thread at the same rate

If hamas stop that mean netanyahu win and if he stop hamas win so it's dick measuring... and hamas wouldn't stop without real peace offer that include stopping Settlement expansion, attacking Palestinian in Jerusalem, stop the gaza blockade..... i don't remeber the rest...

that but after seeing Biden in work.... yeah he will fuck the Palestinian before any of this would happen

edit: and what Chirotera said Israel refuse ceasefire couple of time... and with Biden support he double down on it

Weren't they working on a ceasefire? Hope it comes sooner

There's always a ceasefire. Every single time. But it only comes when Israel feels like it has spilled enough blood. They agree to it but on their own terms and they only do so so that when Palestinians try to push back against their oppressors, they can open up their military again to further bombings while saying "see, we signed a cease fire, they're the ones that broke it!" as a means to justify their bloodlust. The only side that needs to be told to stop is them. And until the U.S. holds them to account, this cycle of persistent asymmetric violence will continue.

i'm not both siding anything. I absolutely think Israel needs to stop all attacks against Gaza no matter what Hamas does. I don't give a damn if Israel loses anyone from rocket attacks, its well deserved. But independent of any ethical concerns, reality is both sides need to look good at the end, and the ceasefire negotiations will factor that thinking into persuading both sides to stop.

Norman Finkelstein has given a lot of interviews over the past couple days regarding recent events. I've watched the two he had with Katie Halper on YouTube.

His general synopsis is that Israel will further go down the route of being a piranha state and that the recent reports by both B'Tselem and Human Right Watch, effectively declaring Israel to be an apartheid state or committing crimes of apartheid, along with the ICC now investigating a war crimes case against them will put a lot of pressure on them and their apologists/propagandists. For example, he says what legs do they have to stand on now for wanting to ban Israel Apartheid Week in colleges and universities in America when Human Right Watch, one of the most mainstream human right organizations in the world, is now openly stating what Israel is doing is in fact apartheid. He thinks the tide of hearing only one side of the story (Israel's) is over and he attributes a fair deal to the Black Lives Matter movement changing how people view supremacy.

I was also quite surprised to see how open he was to defend Hamas' right to fire rockets against Israel and even made a comparison that Palestinians living in Gaza face a similar situation that his mother faced during the Warsong Ghetto Uprising.

What are people general thoughts about him?

One side has agreed to talks and the other has completely walked away.

In addition in this post that's claiming you're not both siding you then boil down this argument to "both sides" again.

No, your right about that, my apologies, Hamas i believe it was on the 2nd day voiced for a ceasefire.

edit: I'm being insensitive right now, I'm sorry, I'm going to stop replying now.

He is a leading specialist on the subject and has written numerous times on it.

Like lots of Jews and Muslims have been saying... Israel is an Apartheid State. No ifs, no buts.

It's important to know what kind of monsters the Palestinians are dealing with.

We're not allowed to post comparisons between Israel and nazi Germany. We can't be trusted to make rational points such as the Warsaw ghetto uprising. It doesn't matter that you can literally quote descendents from the holocaust. Or is it just the term 'nazi' we're not supposed to use?

Everything he says is all from the crazy amount of research he has done He will shut down any Israel supporter who tries to use lies and deception.

He says there is substantial numbers of the younger Jewish population in the states for example who support Palestinian justice. I never knew that was happening in America.

Human Rights Watch included some other chose quotes in their 200+ page report on Israel's Apartheid:
