If I learnt anything from this episode it's that continuity is definitely super serious and we'll most definitely see them again.Wait. So there are a bunch of Wasp Rick babies in this timeline now?
Yep. They'll probably come into play in future seasons. There'll be a nest full of Wasp Ricks. And maybe we'll actually wasp Hitler lol.If I learnt anything from this episode it's that continuity is definitely super serious and we'll most definitely see them again.
When he's actually interacting with her, totally. It worked here for me, though, because it was just the MacGuffin that drove Morty's actions, and I really liked seeing him take charge in such a ridiculous way.
Anyone know if I can use a VPN to watch it on the Adult Swim site or do I need US cable credentials to watch it?
Channel 4 don't appear to be airing it until Jan 2020
Just finished watching. Solid start to S4! Hail...uh, Wasp Hitler?
VPN should do the trick.
If you're in the US, the first episode is just available to freely watch on Adult Swim's own website until the 16th, you don't need a cable provider, account or anything: https://www.adultswim.com/videos/rick-and-morty/edge-of-tomorty-rick-die-rickpeatIs there someplace I can watch this in the US without needing a cable sub?
Is this going to be a thing for the entire season or just the first episode? If you're in the US, the first episode is just available to freely watch on Adult Swim's own website until the 16th, you don't need a cable provider, account or anything: https://www.adultswim.com/videos/rick-and-morty/edge-of-tomorty-rick-die-rickpeat
(it's not available outside of the US though.)
Yep, Rick learned the importance of planning ahead and Morty learned the importance of living in the momentThis was fantastic - the show's still got it! I was laughing throughout most of it.
Make sure you watch the after-credits scene (I always used to forget they were a thing in this show).
Poor guy gave up skinny dipping to die lonely, it was the perfect cherry on the cake for the ep.
The show's always kind of had that though: (I think they're hilarious)Great episode, but thought the random brand shoutouts were weird.
I like how certain brands are integrated like Rick actually cares about them and others are blatant ad-reads that he knows he's being paid to sayFirst thing I thought of during that scene was how high the price is going to spike on those things. Boglins were already pretty pricey, but now that Rick & Morty fans are gonna start collecting them....fuck.
Infinite timelines means infinite possibilities means infinite universes where there exists a sapient species other than human with a person bearing your exact name and personality.Right, I get that. I was merely making a comment about how realistically there wouldn't be Ricks(or people, or Morty's family or his house) of other species in other timelines,
I get it, so Rick just happens to be reborn as a clone in wasp universe where not only humanity is somehow the exact same, but wasps, but Goldenfold evolved from caterpillars into another sentient human-like species.Infinite timelines means infinite possibilities means infinite universes where there exists a sapient species other than human with a person bearing your exact name and personality.
I felt like this episode was a lot faster paced than any other episode.I forgot how fast-paced this show can be sometimes, lol
Time to rewatch and see background stuff I missed lol
With season 3, they have half of the season available for watching for a few more days.Is this going to be a thing for the entire season or just the first episode?
Partly why I thought the whole episode was going to be just a vision in a death crystal, maybe until that point. The continuity reset gag from fake Nancy Grace was incredible. It's exactly what I was thinking about the whole episode.
Yeah, though Morty is a kid and his obsession will never end. This episode felt like a great reintroduction of characters for a newer audience, so here's looking forward to more classic adventures.
edit: and yeah, I know we've seen alternate species ricks and mortys since season 1, but it still makes no sense beyond some good visual and contextual gags
With him having that mindset you can see how so many Ricks went all in on facism. That occurred to me when rewatching the episode with Toxic Rick spouting on about inferiority
From someone who has really enjoyed most of the first three seasons, the fan base has apparently tainted my experience with this show a lot.
Hologram Rick's "I'm tolerant, which means calling out people for goofy-sounding microaggressions related to holograms" just felt like attack helicopter-type pandering to all the people who think Rick's take on the word "retarded" really sticks it to the politically correct. I also don't love seeing them write a scene where they cuss out Summer for just trying to be part of their thing. There's enough misogyny in their fan base without encouraging memes telling Summer/women to shut the fuck up for simply existing in their space. It's not like they're not allowed to shit on Summer or make fun of whoever they want. They can and do. But when it's just for existing and being an other of some kind (like women, in this case) in their garage, it just seems to reinforce the already crappy behavior of many in their fanbase.
Other than that, the episode was fine. Not in my top episodes, but I'd watch it again.
Parodying "not allowing women into conversations" by not allowing women into conversations and ending the episode by repeatedly telling them they ruined the premiere is some weapons grade Poe's Law action.
Having women on staff is diversity. It's not necessarily inclusion or equity, and it's not a shield against criticism of the show.
