The call-ins were usually fine, but for the Sonic episode Sega promoted the number on their Facebook page and we were Extremely Not Prepared for the results.
Oh man, would the calls would be just as disappointing and bloated as the game?

Please make sure you add great music to the email or call segment so it's completely wasted to really emulate the true Chrono Cross experience.

Agreed. I haven't listened to the prog rock one, but I really enjoyed Indiana Jones and Star Wars. I'm about halfway through Alien now and enjoying it as well.Just wanted to throw some love out for the non video game episodes you guys have done.
Totally dig the hell out of the prog rock, Star Wars, and Alien episodes.
Love the idea of Retronauts expanding out of the video game world from time to time. THere's all sorts of things which are retro that I'd love to hear the regulars muse about.
So, thanks.

Can we speculate about others in the pipeline? Ghostbusters? Total Recall?
The KS backer DVD arrived today for me.https://www.kickstarter.com/project...our-favorite-classic-gaming-pod/posts/2288793
The DVDs from the Retronauts Kickstarter are finally done and ready to ship out. Those that backed for them should get a survey today to get mailing info.
This podcast seems to be coming from another dimension where RE4 isn't routinely mentioned as one of the most influential games of all time.
Nah, you guys are great. I love the podcast! Keep it up, don't let them take away any of your Bob-ness (Carl-ness).Looks like I ended up in the Dimension of Rude Comments again :(
Ha same here.
So here is the weird thing- for the GBA port of Aladdin, they actually added new levels- if you consider each 4 level chunk a "world" in the game, they added 1 new stage to each world. The new stages are terrible- they just copy and pasted elements from other stages in that world and created no new assets, so each one is incredibly forgettable and feels stale
My guess as to why you had a bunch of weird Disney things come back in the early-mid 2000s was due to the success of Kingdom Hearts
Apart from the bad added levels, it's just the SNES version with slightly worse musicHow does it play though? I'm genuinely interested in getting it.
The Ancient Cave was on the part of our list we didn't make it to, don't worry.
Jeremy, is there any chance we get one more Evangelion content drop with you and Christian Nutt in this time of Eva-naissance?I for one am astonished a game designed as a light diversion for casual and younger players would not be received warmly by the PC gaming crowd.
Ah, understandable, and that's a shame.Christian became something of media recluse after GG hit five years ago and he got a job outside the press. He has disassociated himself from most people in games journalism. He's highly uninterested in being associated with Retronauts now, and I respect that desire for distance.
While not a fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series myself I've found that the people who do like it don't really care for the gameplay that much but rather for the weird personalities of the various NPCs.
Gameplay-wise, PMD is both very impressive and kind of wasted potential. On the one hand, they made a very valiant effort to adapt every existing move and ability faithfully to an RPG genre they weren't designed for. On the other hand, with you playing as Pokemon directly instead of a trainer, it ends up being pretty simplistic without the ability to change your active Pokemon (and in Explorers of Sky at least there were large stretches where you couldn't even choose your party). While not a fan of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series myself I've found that the people who do like it don't really care for the gameplay that much but rather for the weird personalities of the various NPCs.
