simple, 30fps 540p/900p on Switch, 60fps 720p/1080p Switch ProImagine they have to optimise this game for Switch and a theoretical Switch Pro + Switch 2 lol
Yeah this is stupid how long it's taking them. I know we were all hoping to see it at various shows the last several years. Who knows how far in development this is but at the start of switchs life cycle I was certain we would have this game by nowAt this point, there'll be a 10 year gap between MP4 and the last Retro release. Jesus Christ
Optimistic, eh?
So it has been over SEVEN YEARS since they finished their last game. Which means that clearly something (or hell, multiple somethings) went disasterously wrong for Retro at some point, and that's why people get a bit intense when it comes to job listings with this studio. There's an understandable level of concern imo.
Yeah, games aren't developed in a linear fashion. Elements like bosses are often added very late into development since that's the part of the game that usually requires every other system in the game to be figured out.Boss designer means they have all the basics in tact and are filling in the game world with bosses and story scenes and generally it would mean they are polishing up the game. I mean the game is still far out. Probably 2022 but at least they're steadily progressing.
making a video game and now adding bosses to the video game
I've got a great idea for a boss. You're completely safe while standing under it, and its weak point is really easy to hit, but Samus can't look up far enough to hit the weak point unless she steps out from under the boss. Sound good?
Give Retro more credit than thatsimple, 30fps 540p/900p on Switch, 60fps 720p/1080p Switch Pro
That is abundantly clear from this thread, my word.
The unsanitary enviroment is the reason why Metroid Prime 4 was delayed. Yup! That checks out.I mean, next Retro will be hiring a janitor and you'll all freak out that they haven't cleaned their place for 10 years!
Damn this game is going to be so far out if they still haven't hired a boss designer.
....no?
Dodecadraxis
I swear it's the same stuff around here every time someone posts a retro position lolDidn't you guys have thought that it might be another designer? ...
It's Retro Studios not some trash ass company..Take your time and release it when it´s ready. Don´t release an Anthem or Cyberpunk.
Nintendo will have new hardware to push, if they gotta kick down the OG switch, so be it
🤦🏽♂️Boss designer? That's one of the first things they hire for isn't it? This game isn't coming out until....2025.
The bosses of an average game do not occupy even 5% of the total lenght of the game and require that all other systems already work perfectly, why would they be the first thing you would hire.Boss designer? That's one of the first things they hire for isn't it? This game isn't coming out until....2025.
lol wut.Boss designer? That's one of the first things they hire for isn't it? This game isn't coming out until....2025.
They've been making a game? What in the hell have they been doing all this time?
I stand by my theory that Retro had to be the lead designer for all of Super Nintendo World attractions.
At this point, it's just kind of fun to go with the types of posts in these threads. Game is doing fine in development, if anything we'll probably see something about it in 2022 imo.
I mean yeah that can be assumed. Prime 4 was rebooted in January 2019 (a bit earlier probably) whereas Bayo has been announced since Dec 2017.
Game is doing fine? Are you insider? At this point, it's just kind of fun to go with the types of posts in these threads. Game is doing fine in development, if anything we'll probably see something about it in 2022 imo.
