Resident Evil VII now the highest selling single RE release at 7.9 million units

Though RE5 and RE6 would be higher if all versions would be taken into account

It also looks like their Platinum list has updated

Mega Man 11 at 1.2 mil
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (PS4/Xbox One) at 1.0 mil
Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite at 1.5 mil
Devil May Cry 5 at 3.7 mil
Resident Evil 2 (2019) at 7.2 mil
Resident Evil 3 (2020) at 2.7 mil

It should be RE5, no ?

I thought that RE7 + RE7 Gold Edition numbers were counted together (the Gold Edition doesn't appear in the Platinium Titles page) while RE5 and RE5 Gold Edition are counted separately (7,7 millions + 2,3 millions = 10 millions when excluding the port (1,8 million)).

Amazing news! RE7 is an incredible game and the first time the series really drew me in. Also kicked off Capcom's redemption run of the past few years.

Wow...I haven't read it all yet, but I assume that doesn't count all versions of RE4?

Edit: And damn yeah RE2 will be passing it soon.

RE2 Remake is also above 7 million? I'm pleasantly surprised. RE4 Remake is really a lock huh

RE5 and RE6 still ahead if you count their port. You know what that means Capcom, back to action coop RE.

It's a great game, and I especially appreciated the bold approach they took given that after RE5 and RE6 it looked like they were happy with resting on their laurels and continuing to drift further away from the series' core appeal. RE7 gave me the most pure Resident Evil vibes I'd felt since playing the original.

RE4 remains the best game, mind you.

Technically, RE5 and RE5 Gold Edition don't have complete parity like RE7 does. RE5 Gold on PS3 supports Move controls, while the standard release cannot under any circumstances.

If all versions were combined it would be:

RE5: 11.8 mil
RE6: 9.5 mil
RE4: 9.2 mil
RE7: 7.9 mil
RE2 Remake: 7.2 mil

It should still be a separate SKU, though. It doesn't make sense to consider the Gold edition the same as the base edition since gold edition obviously sold well on the merit of having all the DLC.

Also, nice update to DmC as well! DmC:DE (1.1 million) + DmC (2.5 million) puts it at 3.6 million, just slightly off DMC5.

Capcom certainly has enjoyed a renaissance as of late. Between the successes of Devil May Cry V, Monster Hunter World (and Iceborne), and Resident Evil 7 (and likely the two remakes too), Capcom is now officially and properly back.

Now we just need to see that resurgence in their fighting games and all will be right in the world once more.
