So does anyone know how early some streamers got their copies? I love seeing how people react to stuff, and seeing someone play at launch that knows the game already like the back of their hand is one of the most unappealing things I can think of.

Not sure what to buy for my nightmare run, I can afford the infinite assault rifle. 🤔 Overall, I had a good time with the game. That final boss sequence was fucking dope as hell.

Man, this game GOES. Pacing is set really high. Loving my time with it so far.

Watching the Giant Bomb Quick Look made me realize I missed an gun upgrade in the first part of the game (Toy Store, Donut Shop, Diner, etc...).

I just now
started playing as Jill again after the subway train crashed.
Will I be able to go back to that area later?

why did they remove knife durability in this?

and the ability to use the knife/a grenade when you're grabbed?

was there an article on this anywhere? or they just wanted to be different from RE2?

Finally got to start this. Got up to
Kendo's shop.

It's definitely a different feel from RE2, but it's also very different from RE3. And for me, way better and more fun so far (than RE3 OG).

The game is more action focused. Jil is far more trained than Claire or Leon. I think an infinite knife fits more with this to expand her combat potential, and as she has the doge the anti-grab nature wasn't required as much.

Completed the game in Standard.
The underground part looks dull compared to Racoon City. i don't mind paying for Story DLC set in Raccoon City.

I haven't finished the game yet but I wanted to say that you should not sleep on Resistance.
Once you understand how the games work (play the tutorials!), it's a blast, espescially if you have a good team.

I hope it will have legs and that more people will give it a fair shot.

Just finished the game on Standard, took slightly over 5 hours. It's an alright game, way worse than Resident Evil 2 but had some great parts. The hospital and the capper there comes to mind. The pacing is really high, but I miss the intricate exploration and puzzle solving, and Nemesis is a disappointment. I couldn't help but feel it's a very cut down game in general.

Do you get money for beating it in standard mode? I had no idea you could unlock infinite ammo weapons easily. I had to spend real money for them in RE 2 since I didn't feel like going for an S ranking. That's great! It will make my second playthrough a little easier.

I managed to afford unlocking the Infinite handgun. If I replay the game now and use it, does it lock out any trophies/achievements or similar?

If I have to give a score in regards to how faithful it is probably a 5. On its own as a reimagining in 2020 being a companion to last years game probably a 8.5 until now I'll see how I feel once I beat the game. I'm playing on hardcore I got 4hrs and 40 mins at the rpd.

I have to admit, as a die-hard RE fan, I am feeling a bit of regret at purchasing this game now. I'm kind of upset at paying (near) full price for this game, and skipping out on DOOM Eternal. Usually I wouldn't think so hard on a purchase, the game was fun enough. But considering the extra anxiety of spending a weeks groceries worth on this game during the uncertain financial times of this social lockdown, it kind of treads the wrong way on me. If it was a $29.99 purchase I don't think I'd have buyer's remorse.

Coming off of something like AC Odyssey and it's expansion DLCs, or even the extra single player content of REmake 2 or RE7, REmake 3's package seems like a bit of a tough pill to swallow on the consumer.

Anyone that doesn't buy the Hot Dogger and beat the game on Inferno difficulty with only that weapon should be banned from buying Capcom games FOR LIFE. 👀

I thought i was being a contrarian by believing remake 2 wasn't as good as the original, but this is for sure a straight downgrade compared to the original in almost every way except visuals obviously, it's frustrating seeing that casino/bar map in Resistance & thinking it could have been a good replacement for the diner in remake 3, a remake is suppose to expand on the original, this just straight out cuts half the game & poorly replaces it with the RE2 sewer & another boring lab.

This should have been a $30 DLC for RE2 called Jill's story, this isn't even worthy of the title Nemesis since there is really only one short part that he chases you through the city, it's disappointing that a PS1 game feels more advanced with a more connected/larger city with a monster constantly chasing you, all the ideas for a next gen RE3 that were not possible on older hardware got thrown out the window.

Final boss on Nightmare is absolutely bullshit.

If you get hit ONCE he will stunlock you, you can't even open the inventory to heal.

lol, already? Shirtless mod for Jill coming when? :D

I'm really enjoying the game so far. It feels indeed different from RE2, not only because of Jill's ability to dodge but also the levels. I'm in the sewers right now and there's only half the back-tracking you have in RE2 right now. Neither bother me, though. Playing on hardcore right now and feels just about right with the health items and ammo I get.

Oh, haven't played the original so I can't comment on that one. Right now RE3 is a really great game!

Out of all the last few RE games i played this one is definitely the most fun to replay, am not a big fan of too much metroidvania these days and this game have just the right amount of action, horror and exploring. I just wish they squeezed in 1-2 more boss fights.

Can you backtrack to previous areas like in RE2R?

Not really too much (a little) the game is all about being pushed forward and getting out of there ASAP. It's flavour is different from RE2R. While RE2R is about exploration and atmosphere etc. The flavour of RE3 is more panic stricken, and surviving on a knife's edge.

If RE2 was Alien. RE3 is Aliens on Steroids.

No, once you reach certain points in the story you get locked into new areas.
Thanks. I have a habit of trying to get every single item so I'll keep this in mind.

So Nemesis doesn't drop anything while he has the RPG so I really don't know where else this supposed third weapon part can drop. Does Nemesis actually drop three weapon parts or am I just missing one somewhere else in the game?

Maybe the third one is the blue gem? I'm spitballing here cause I've only made him drop two crates.

He only drops two parts. Following crates are just resources - I think shotgun shells and grenade ammo, but maybe it's random.

Do you have two shotgun upgrades already? I can't remember if one of them was dropped by Nemesis or if I picked up both.

But I do know both my handgun and my shotgun took two slots by the time I got to the RPG part.

Damn so the person in this thread who said he dropped a third weapon part was wrong then. Guess I've gotta hunt for the one I'm missing.

He only drops handgun parts by the sounds of it. Shotgun parts are found dotted around the game iirc.

I remember finding a good amount of bobble heads on my own in RE2 but I've only found the one in RE3 so far. I'm exploring a lot, as usual. They must be well hidden or I'm just not seeing them. No biggie though.

Can't wait to play more later.

I played quite a bit yesterday. It's not the game I wanted. It's barely RE3. It's a great game, though.

I noticed once I started comparing it to the OG that's where my personal score drops dramatically. On it's own 2020 reimagining its a solid 8.5 leaning towards a 9, I think I'm halfway through I just reached the hospital and it's been a blast. The game leaves you wanting for more and that's where it fails because they could've added a few more things and it would've been goat.

God damn playing chronologically is awesome! I started this morning, now playing the first third of RE2 before resuming RE3!

This is what happens when studios put most of their efforts in the visual department. Even RE2 has lots of cut content.

Sometimes I feel like I'm playing a different game. There are puzzles. Rerouting the train tracks, making the vaccine, finding the jewels for the clock tower monument, looking for the first safe code etc. That is in addition to the multiple lock and key puzzles. There is also some back and forth through the areas. You need to explore to find the fire hose to get to the substation. There you get the wire cutters and lock pick allowing you to access new areas downtown. It's all a bit smaller scale for sure but it's still there.
Aside the train route planner, none of the others are puzzles, they all fetch quests. Bring thing to thing, or go get answer and use answer on thing.

I know Nemesis for a fact drops two crates, the last shotgun upgrade is at the Kendo gun shop.
That isn't the last shotgun upgrade.

There's at least one more after the gun shop. When you get beneath the hospital and have to look for fuses, there's an upgrade behind one of the lifts. It makes you reload the shotgun faster, and I think the rate of fire increases.
