Maybe it is just that my tastes are changing a bit, but what RE3 is offering here is a bit more of what I want from modern RE. There are practically no puzzles, and the scares / action per minute ratio is pretty high. It still manages to build intensity like RE2 does in its quieter moments, but the louder moments are *significantly* louder than RE2, and I'm digging that. Honestly, this whole game is like one big Nemesis set piece so far wrapped in the presentation and moment-to-moment gameplay of RE2make, and that just works real fucking well for me.

Here is the thing though.. all I have is the handgun with 20 rounds and shotgun with 4 rounds to start the fight. That's all 😂, and there is an auto-save that locks you into the fight.
so walk around the arena and pick up the 14 + shottie rounds and the mine rounds? or do you not have the g launcher with you?
cause then, yeah, that fight will be a bit different

Also, performance overall for me on the X was solid, only the Carlos sections and cutscenes dipped real low.

Honestly, this is kind of the ceiling in terms of how actiony I want my RE. The pace of RE2R is basically perfect. I really like Jill though. More games with Jill.

I have a morbid curiosity about Resistance but the 1v4 thing has never really appealed to me. One of the things that most appeals to me about these games is being able to go at my own pace and when you toss multiplayer into something, any semblance of exploring the world is basically evaporated (unless it's a Division-esque hub kind of thing).

Is RE3 less or more scary than RE2? I wanna buy this but I hate being scared lol. My favorite RE is still RE5.

As long as this moves at a pace similar to Dead Space then I'll love it. That game is still the best when it comes to survival and action.

I'm not sure its worth wasting ammo taking him down then if he's not guaranteed to drop anything.

Just to note - I was in what I would assume was a very scripted scene where they wanted me to run, and I just turned around and let him have it. He dropped some loot there. So I'm pretty sure it's worth it every "new" time he shows up.

Somewhere.
Just took a break after arriving at the hospital.

Maybe I am glad that I called it on Hardcore for now, cause that clock tower fight was already kind of a pain in the ass in Standard lol.

Well, it really sucks that the clock tower section was cut out, but I sure the hospital will be great at least. The RPD part was fine, and it was nice to see some Lickers again. I really love the characters too, with Jill and Carlos being quite great here especially.

I did it of the very first time you can shoot him and he dropped nothing.
Maybe its a hardcore difficulty thing.

Nope, no g launcher, just the handgun/shotgun. Tried and tried to kill it with what I had and no luck.
You don't have the grenade launcher?! The fight is literally not winnable without it I'm pretty sure cause you need the mine rounds to interrupt him, I ran completely out of ammo like 3 times before I figured that out lol.

There was a save room before that I hope you used cause I'm pretty sure you can backtrack to the sewers and get it. Also not having it will make the game a LOT more difficult.

😭😭😭, ...nope I got everything... Just haven't been doing manual saves and letting it do auto-saves. Didn't realize that I was walking right into the fight, and then the game auto-saved and locked me into the battle... brutal... absolutely brutal...

When Jill was going to say "You want STARS? I'll give you STARS!", nemesis hitted me before she could finish the sentence. I'll never forgive you Nemesis!

Reached the Sewers:

Lots of mixed feelings here.I wasn't expecting the game to be that linear after the demo, I thought it would be more like...well, the original RE3, which was still a classic RE game. I'm still having fun, but after RE2R and RE7 managed to bring back the classic RE feel and design...this is a step backwards to Revelations era of lost identity.

I'm still having fun, but....ehhh, I should feel like playing an improved RE2R, not Revelations 3 with more production values.

That part is, IMO the best part of the game.

Just beat it and all i can say is... it's definitely not as good as RE2R. but it's a return to resident evil schlock and i love it.

The classic costumes are so much better for Jill and Carlos. About 75% through and really enjoying it, maybe because I replayed Code Veronica right before this and that was a chore and goes on for far too long.

That's a really nice looking first post! I was just curious how many of you really enjoy the adventure aspects of the original games compared to this one?

I did this fight without the GL, when he jumps up on the tower you need to stand behind the statue so he lands right on it, he seems to take some damage from it. I only used my handgun and shotgun.
