90.

It's single player only, doesn't have an endless open world of mediocrity, nor is it a dad simulator to bring hollow feels.

I'll go with 92, it being a remake is going to hurt it's score a bit between those who don't want to score a remake too high and those that loved the original nitpicking changes. Horror games are also one of those genres with a metacritic cap.

90+ the demo was a great teaser for the game and plays well. The atmosphere and graphics are fantastic

Since it is not a fresh entry to the series and just a great remake of an old game which means the same story settings and gameplay to go trough, I can'tsee it exceeding 90-92

Generally it will be reviewed as a remake rather than a new release so it could easily be in the low 90s, the Shadow of the Colossus remake reviewed as well as the original did.

87. Even though it's got a new polish most of the games systems won't have been updated well enough that it'll be judged a bit unfairly as a sign of the times the original released in. The inventory system for one will be a common complaint in the press I imagine due to a time where mostly every game gives you unlimited storage except a few. Yes, I know that only increases the survival horror aspect but that's the sort of complaint we'll see.

Other than the graphics and shooting, have they improved on the core mechanics of the game or was it already "perfect" 20 years ago?

Both original editions of RE1 and REMake got 91 on Metacritic. So I bet on 89, just as the original RE2 for PS1 had.

80-84, but maybe 85-89.

I think there's going to be some jank, some things not "modernized enough" and some bugs/glitches.

I already think the movement is off, but I don't think that's something the reviewers are going to say much about. Sound design is weak, as is the weight/impact of shooting, but again, often something reviewers overlook.

I think it will be slightly higher than RE7, so maybe an 87/88? I just don't know that it will meet all critics expectations (and preferences) to reach a 90. But time will tell!

I think that it will have a 93 score. Going by the previews and the good reception from the demo.

Now give us R3make

between 80 and 84, it's presentation is really good but the game design is too old for me, I can't like like those anymore.

The discussion here isn't very constructive and is more of a list thread than anything else. Besides that, metacritic prediction threads are frowned upon. The reviews for the game will be out soon enough & can be discussed in the upcoming review thread instead.
