  1. Anthem - Super pumped for this one. Iron Man fantasy fulfillment plus loot plus co-op?
  2. The Outer Worlds - This can't really be happening...can it?
  3. Gears of War 5 - One of my favourite 'big dumb popcorn flick' game series.
  4. Crackdown 3 - Looking for a return to the original, not so much the sequel.
  5. Control - I really liked Quantum Break's combat and powers, this takes it to another level.
  6. BioMutant - Intrigued enough to put it this high on the list. We'll see if they deliver.
  7. Rage 2 - Super over the top and I could use some mindless fun some days.
  8. Wasteland 3 - A really underrated series that takes me back to old RPGs.
  9. The Surge 2 - Loved the first game, hope this elevates it.
  10. A Plague Tale: Innocence - Great atmosphere, we'll see if the gameplay can carry that water though...

  1. Jedi: Fallen Order: It's Star Wars and it's got an impressive studio team behind it. While certain not-sure-if-2019 games would top this one were they eligible, as it stands this takes the cake for me. That said, I have a hunch it'll get pushed back into 2020.
  2. The Outer Worlds: A deep single-player RPG from the makers of Fallout New Vegas? Sign me the heck up. The only reason it isn't #1 is because I'm uncertain how well I'll take to this kitschy, comedic take on a space setting.
  3. Pokemon 2019: I've been a lapsed Pokemon fan two or maybe even three times throughout my life, but Let's Go has recently reinvigorated my interest again. I'm excited to see what's in store for Gen 8.
  4. Fire Emblem: Three Houses: This will be my first major attempt at getting into the venerable Fire Emblem franchise. I'm big on console RPGs, so I'm hedging my bets it will go over well with me.
  5. Animal Crossing: Honestly, I'm fairly sure my roommate's hype for this game has affected me on this one. I've never played an Animal Crossing game before, but I'm intrigued. It seems like the sort of game that could help with my anxiety... or hinder it...
  6. Resident Evil 2 Remake: We're three for three now on games whose franchises I've never before checked out, and for the second time in a row my roommate's hype is to blame for my sudden spike in interest. I feel... infected.
  7. Anthem: I can't say much since I'm under NDA from the closed alpha. This is the first time since getting into BioWare that a title from them that's right around the corner hasn't handily topped my list, but don't read too deeply into that. The fact is, I don't think Anthem's genre is particularly for me.
  8. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe: I didn't own a Wii U, but I did own a Wii, and I enjoyed NSMB Wii. I hear-tell this one's amazing, so my household is looking forward to its release. There's one big problem with this game, though, and that's the fact that if I had a gun to my head and were promised survival only if I said its name ten times fast, well, let's just say I wouldn't be around to play any of these games at all.
  9. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice: I love the way this game looks, but I've never attempted a game from From (heh) before because the difficulty terrifies me. One of my friends has convinced me to give Bloodborne a shot anyway, so... we'll see how that goes and then we'll go from there.
  10. Daemon x Machina: Apart from the music (#sorrynotsorry; metal ain't for me) the trailer for this game seemed rad. I'm a mecha fan, so as long as my friend and I can play against one-another I'm in. If it's purely co-op, I'm on the fence.

  1. Resident Evil 2 Remake - Been LOVING what I've seen so far. With my biased nostalgia towards the game and series as a whole it's going to be pretty hard to find disappointment in this game.
  2. Devil May Cry 5 - LOVE this series. Haven't gotten a chance to play the demo yet but loving everything they're doing with the game so far. Really excited to get my hands on it when it releases and pretend that DMC never happened.
  3. Jugdment - LOVES me some yakuza and with the new character, combat mix of Yakuza 6 and 0 with a hint of detective themed gameplay set in familar kamurocho? This is looking to be a very enjoyable game for me that i'm defintely going to sink my teeth into for a while.
  4. Mortal Kombat 11 - Good God that Trailer! That's how you create some hype man! Just praying they improve the animations, but I definitely have this on my radar now!
  5. No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again - As a huge fan of the previous no more heroes games I hope this will satiate my hunger for another entry in the nmh series. While i'm not a fan of the isometric camera, i feel that the personality that oozes in this series will ultimately win me over
  6. Onimusha - While i kinda feel like this is cheating as this game is only a port and not a remake, that doesn't hinder my excitement to play this title again in higher res and some new music. Really hope this starts the train to remake or port the other titles in the series and ultimately get a sequel!
  7. Gears 5 - While we haven't seen to much gameplay for Gears 5. I trust that Rod furgesson and their team at the coalition are going to amaze me with the new things they come up with mostly in multiplayer since that's what keeps me playing 4 to this day.

  1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Demon's Souls is my 2nd favorite game of all time. I love all 5 Souls titles, but I never cared much for the multiplayer part, so From dropping that element completely to focus on other aspects is music to my ears. Plus the added verticality to levels, the fluidity and depth the grappling hook adds to combat and traversal are gonna make exploring and fighting such a joy. This time giving the characters a bigger focus on the narrative should make the story more compelling to some. Hell I'm even excited about stealth and eavesdropping. I can see it becoming one of my favorite games of all time and easily From Software's best game to date. As great as 2019 is shaping up to be nothing comes even close to Sekiro, personally. I just hope NG+ will actually be worthwhile this time.
  2. Resident Evil 2 - I've always been a bit of a wuss when it comes to horror games, but I recently got over that and I've been playing through all the RE games. Up to CVX now and I've immensely enjoyed all of them so far. RE2 just looks like an absolute delight in all aspects.
  3. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - While I loathe how the game looks, it's a freaking Igavania, and I just adore the genre in general.
  4. Devil May Cry 5
  5. The Outer Worlds
  6. Control
  7. The Sinking City
  8. Days Gone
  9. Left Alive
  10. Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown

  1. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - I backed this one years ago and am getting it on the PS4 and Switch. I have wanted a true successor to Castlevania: SOTN for ages and have looked forward to this more than any other title.
  2. Gears of War 5 - I love this series and have been a huge fan since the beginning. I'm hoping they learned from Fortnite's example though and leave the loot boxes behind this time. Also hoping Horde drops the dumb skill cards.
  3. Shenmue III - Backed this the day it was announced and have eagerly awaited it since.
  4. Bayonetta 3 - I view Bayonetta 2 as one of the greatest games ever made, so this is hotly anticipated for me.
  5. Resident Evil 2 - I played the original release of this when it was new and have very fond memories of it. I look forward to rediscovering the game through a new lens.
  6. Catherine: Full Body - I love Catherine and am super excited to play through it again with a new story branch written in. I can't wait to see how they've improved upon it.
  7. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - I have never played a Fire Emblem game outside of Warriors, but I've heard a lot of great things and want to see for myself. I've heard there is dating/marriage in the series which is something I've always appreciated as well.
  8. Doom Eternal - This will just be a good time and I know it. The first one kicked ass and I've got a history with Doom going back to the early 90s, so I'm totally on board.
  9. Dead or Alive 6 - I don't know if I'll buy this but I'm excited for it. The only reason I wouldn't buy is because I know they're going to release like 2 more versions of it down the road. I may just wait for the complete release.
  10. Code Vein - I love Dark Souls and I dig what I've seen of this so far in screenshots, so this could be right up my alley.

  1. Kingdom Hearts 3: those f**kers who say Nomoura is good only for character design are gonna get their just deserts! >:(
  2. Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice: Miyazaki-guaranteed to be a phonemenal Souls experience.
  3. Ori and the Will of the Wisps: The first one blew my mind; a cutisey platformer with solid mechanics? And a metrovidinia!
  4. Resident Evil 2 Remake: I'm planning to play the OG RE2 soon, but I love me some remakes that look so good.
  5. The Outer Worlds: I love the Bioshock feel I got from the trailer; and it's a story-focused Fallout. Sold.
  6. Anthem: Up until the eventual downgrade, this game looks fun and promising.
  7. Crash Team Racing: Why not? I hope it's not as clunky as the trilogy remake.

  1. The Good Life - the only game I've ever backed. SWERY x slice of life. Yes please!
  2. Control - It looks like an exciting shooter with transforming weapons and supernatural powers, from none other than proven studio Remedy. Sold.
  3. Biomutant - Mascot game where you can customise your own mascot? Sold!
  4. Wasteland 3 - I enjoyed Wasteland 2 a fair bit, and snow setting seems to be a good change from the desert wasteland.
  5. Indivisible - Been on my list since it was first announced.
  6. Surge 2 - Scifi souls like with customisation. Can't ask for more.
  7. Anthem - probably my coop game of the year.
  8. Far cry New dawn - I skipped Far cry 5, but I'll get this one.
  9. Wolfenstein: Youngblood - Looking great.
  10. Resident evil 2 - Not a fan of the series, but this game looks great!

I could have sworn they used the roman numeral for V but you're right, did they rebrand the logo recently?

Either way I changed my vote to say 5 instead of V. Thanks to Sons of Sparda for the notice also.

As far as I know, that's always been the logo, although the original leak thread described the game as Devil May Cry V, which I imagine a lot of the confusion came from.

1 Animal crossing switch - will probably sink 500 hours into this sucker and hope it's supported like new leaf
2 Pokemon 8th gen - another 300-500 hour game for me and I can't wait to see how they combine let's go and regular mechanics for best of both worlds
3 Fire Emblem: Three Houses - one of my all time favorite series along with 1 and 2 so it's gonna be a pretty sick year for me
4 Resident Evil 2 - another favorite for me and I love remake so looking forward to hitting this up
5 Nioh 2 - heard this was 2019? If so that's awesome the first is amazing
6 Shovel Knight king of cards - every single free doc has been amazing and don't expect any different
7 Bloodstained - love iga and igavania
8 Yoshi crafted world - man I LOVED woolly world and am looking forward to playing with my daughter
9 The Outer Worlds - obsidian is a top 3 Dev for me and coming off two 10 games in the pillars series looking forward to this new Vegas-like
10 Mortal kombat 11 - great series that I always check in on

  1. Pokémon Gen 8 - intrigued to see what TPC does with a new gen on a portable/home hybrid and hope some of the changes from Let's Go (mainly being able to see the Pokémon in the game world) stay in this new game.
  2. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - this game looks great from what we have seen so far, I'm 100% in.
  3. Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled - hope this remaster is as good as the other Crash games, the game felt so good when I played it as a child and a new coat of paint should do it wonders. I really hope they don't mess with the mechanics too much. Bring me Crash Bash next, that game was my Mario Party before I played Mario Party.
  4. Kingdom Hearts 3 - I want the wait to be over, game looks like a KH game and I love me some Square and Disney so I'm sold.
  5. Animal Crossing Switch - will be a good time sink on the go.
  6. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 - I enjoyed the first two games in the series, will give this a go.
  7. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - EA has burned me with their Star Wars output so far. I love Star Wars but don't have high hopes for this; thus it is way down my list.
  8. Town - Game looks adorable, not sold on the gameplay but I'll give it a go.
  9. Luigi's Mansion 3 - didn't get into the first two games but will try again with this one.
  10. Day's Gone - I'm not loving the look of this game, it looks like a lot of what I'm disliking about the current Sony first party output bland and too story driven (just my opinion I know I'm in the minority on this one) the actual gameplay and freaker mechanics look cool though. I hope I'm wrong about it being another first party miss for me, because my love for Sam Witwer alone is making me excited for this one.

  1. Resident Evil 2 - I really like the original RE2 and classic Resident Evil in general; excited to see both brought into the present.
  2. Dragon Quest Builders 2 - The first one was amazing and there have been so many exciting tidbits shared about the sequel.
  3. Yoshi's Crafted World - I really, really liked Woolly World. I want this game.
  4. Fire Emblem Three Houses - This would probably be higher on my list if Fire Emblem were not a franchise I have to worry about, but it is. Could be so good (to me), so bad (to me) or a painful place in between tearing me in two directions.
  5. Grandia HD - I'm curious about this game and was excited when the remaster was announced as this will be a convenient way to play it. Wonder when it will release.

  1. Kingdom Hearts 3 - I have no idea if this is going to be any good, but it's guaranteed to have a fuckton of money behind it, and KH2 showed that Kingdom Hearts on console can get batshit insane. Just really want to see how all out they go for the climax of this dumb ass saga on capable hardware.
  2. DOOM Eternal - iD seems to know exactly what went right with DOOM 2016 and I can't wait to see them double down on it.
  3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - RPG systems in action games have been wearing me down a bit lately, so it's refreshing to get a straight-faced take on Miyazaki's signature brand of truly perilous combat...now with added grappling!
  4. Resident Evil 2 - I've actually never played the original RE2, and while I've had some things spoiled throughout the years, a ton of this will be totally new to me. Also, DA GRAYPHIKS
  5. Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Ori with combat mechanics?!
  6. Devil May Cry 5 - No idea why this is here in this spot. I've never gelled with DMC, but damn it looks pretty in native 4K60 on the Xbox One X.
  7. The Outer Worlds - New Vegas in space? Sign me the fuck up.
  8. Control - The ultimate Remedy experience.
  9. Gears 5 - THAT'S FIVE, MOTHERFUCKER
  10. Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled - Wait, is this even 60fps?

To ensure your vote is counted correctly the correct game title should be used. That said, slight variations or spelling mistakes are to be expected, so I'll try to make sure I catch them.

Closer to the end date I'll start sending out messages for people to fix their ballots.

Oh, and sufficient proof has been provided that DOOM Eternal is eligible. The Bethesda store lists it as 2019, the publisher's own store is good enough to prove it.

I'm glad I avoided the wall of V by editing my post earlier, I was so sure they were going with DMCV, they even did that thing where they have a character called V so Capcom could nudge, nudge, wink, wink at the player like "GEDDIT? IT'S V...IN V!"

After all, this company made SFV complete with a character with V patterns all over him using V triggers.

I should clarify, an official estimate. Not rumored or hearsay.
Thanks. So, does this count?
Kojima has actually said it will be out before the year Akira is set (sometime in 2019) and that it will be out before the Tokyo Olympics (July 24, 2020).
That was a really sneaky piece of info from Kojima, and it's been his official estimate since TGS 2016. He's gone on to say that development is going as planned but the year-long SAG-AFTRA strike has delayed certain proceedings when it comes to performance capture and VO. Norman Reedus estimates the game will be out early 2019, and him only having 3 mocap sessions left (Kojima is in New York right now shooting these sessions) adds credence to at least that calendar year.

  1. Devil May Cry 5 - My history with this series is mainly through osmosis, but I did play the original Devil May Cry and enjoyed it a couple years back. Everything about this game from its reveal onwards has only made me more excited for what should be a super fun game.
  2. Resident Evil 2 - I've played the first REmake, but found even that to be a bit antiquated. I played RE7 and found it consistent, but not too crazy. This game seems to be hitting all the right notes for me, and I can't wait to be properly scared.
  3. Pokémon Gen 8 - As a lapsed Pokemon player, (I haven't played one since gen 5) I really want TPC to blow me away. I have little to no faith that will happen, but I'm still really excited for the game to be on a real console.
  4. Dreams - I love every part of game creation and the software involved, but my lack of coding base has held me back. Dreams seems like the cure to those woes. I can't decide whether I'm going to want to rig things, animate, model, do music, or all of the above, and the idea that all of that is possible in one game is super exciting. I'm only worried it won't sell enough to make it worthwhile. I almost think it would be a good idea for Sony to put it on PS+ to start with to get it in the hands of as many people as possible (like Rocket League)
  5. Babylon's Fall - Concept of this one sounded really intriguing to me, and I do believe that there's the potential for something special here. It all depends on the writing though.
  6. Metro Exodus - Loved the first two, and I'm excited for this game to bring back the level of immersion and detail that I loved.
  7. The Pathless - I was in for the artstyle alone, but something about the gameplay seems inviting as well. Really curious how this might turn out.
  8. Judgement - I've tried to get into Yakuza, but something about the story and the baggage of not having played most of the games kinda weighed me down. This being standalone AND having a dub made me instantly take note.
  9. Control - Goddamn does this game look gorgeous. Hoping it has a good story!
  10. Catherine: Full Body - Please please please don't be transphobic, otherwise I'm not gonna buy you.

  1. The Outer Worlds - Obsidian with a bigger budget? Yes please! Even if it is first-person only... 😭
  2. Afterparty - I adored Oxenfree, and this looks to be a less creepy evolution of that.
  3. Twin Mirror - I love DONTNOD for their characters and story-telling. Hopefully it doesn't have combat! 😬
  4. Disco Elysium - Seems like a thoroughly unique RPG.
  5. Life is Strange 2 - Not sure if this counts because Episode 1 is out already... But I am really looking forward to the rest of the story.
  6. Psychonauts 2 - The original is such a memorable classic, even if I quit at the Meat Circus every time I replay it.
Damn... And that's all I can think of. This happens to me every year.

It's a bit too dicey to actually count, sorry. Trust me, I'd love for Death Stranding to be eligible as I'm looking forward to that game a ton, but "before Tokyo Olympics" could still be 2020 ya know.

It was worth a try! :)

Fair enough, now that I know it doesn't count I'll have a think about my other choices.

  1. Imperator: Rome - I love this time period and love most of Paradox's games, so this is a shoe-in for my number one most anticipated game so far. I just hope that this game isn't as "thin" as Stellaris was when it was released.
  2. Total War: Three Kingdoms - I like Koei's games, but they have started to grow a little stale. I haven't really been into Total War games since the first RTW, but hoping that they do this period justice. It's supposedly coming to Linux not too long after release, so I won't have to wait too long.
  3. At The Gates - I kickstarted this game because the designer is the same as Civ V's. I remember it having some interesting concepts, but I forget most of the at the moment. It doesn't help that I honestly thought this was vaporware. So, the recent announcement caught me totally off guard. I hope the wait was worth it.
  4. Devil May Cry 5 - I really liked playing the first game a really long time ago and the fourth game. I haven't played the others, but I'm sure this one will be good.
  5. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - I ended up not playing much of the Fates because I started with Birthright and the maps were pretty boring. Since I assume they aren't making three games this time, the one scenario will be a lot more polished or something. If nothing else, at least there is going to be another good map song for those random battles.
  6. Pokemon - I hadn't played a Pokemon game to completion for a long time until Moon came out. I hope they continue doing interesting and weird things with the series.
  7. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - I've never played a Castlevania or side scrolling Metroid game before. I'm excited to find out if I even like them.

  1. Wargroove - absolutely cannot wait for this game to come out. I have a feeling I'll be playing this for a long time considering Nintendo have forgotten about the Advanced Wars series.
  2. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - While I prefer Advanced Wars, Fire Emblem is my next favorite TBS series.
  3. The Outer World - I was really impressed by the trailer and really looking forward to learning more about this one.
  4. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - I'm a huge Star Wars geek and also a fan of Respawn.
  5. Metro Exodus - I'm a fan of the work that 4A has done.
  6. Gears of War 5 - fan of the series
  7. Control - looks cool
  8. Anthem - looks cool

  1. Resident Evil 2 - The best old style RE being brought back from the grave, along with Capcom's talent. Praise be to Leon.
  2. Devil May Cry 5 - Capcom, again, seemingly found a pile of money they haven't been using for the last 5 years. This is their couch scavenged money spirit bomb.
  3. Desperados 3 - The people behind Shadow Tactics doing that again, but Western. Abso-gotdamn-lutely
  4. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - From Software, hopefully trading RPG mechanics for framerate.
  5. Doom: Eternal - The Doom Marine is here to show MachineGames you CAN make a sequel to your FPS campaign and not blow ass. Hopefully.
  6. Tales of Vesperia Remastered - Two RPGs release in January. One of them is good.
  7. Judgement - Because Yakuza, but Ace Attorney.
  8. Biomutant - I BELIEVE IN THE AA
  9. Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Because Ghibli tears and graphics and mechanics. Should probably be higher but due to who I am as a person, my reluctance to reformat this post and move things around wins the battle today.
  10. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - I GOT SKIN ON THIS. I may have to play it blindfolded, but goddammit, it looks like it plays well.

Honorable Mentions: Joker in Smash, while not a game in itself, is the GotY 2016 oozing into another game, which should be mentioned in every thread no matter how unrelated.

  1. Spelunky 2 - (Derek Yu) Yu is back to make lightning strike twice with a sequel to a true GOAT.
  2. Druidstone - (Ctrl Alt Ninja) Long ago, in the distant years of 2012 and 2014, greatness was visited upon us via Almost Human. But not enough rewarded their great gifts, so they had to disband. But we as a people have a chance at repentance from some of their number.
  3. Sunless Skies - (Failbetter Games) Famous wordsmiths who landed within sight of Planescape: Torment with their previous outing NOW IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.
  4. Indivisible - (Lab Zero Games) In-di-visible I won't let nobody break me down In-di-visible Nothings gonna stop me now
  5. Operencia: The Stolen Sun - (Zen Studios) Oh hey look, not all news out of Hungary is bad, sometimes we get people what love Dungeon Master and purty graphics.
  6. The Outer Worlds - (Obsidian) Glad Obsidian survived to give us more CRPG goodness.
  7. Etrian Odyssey Nexus - (Atlus) Lets see how much is bespoke in this one cuz I love me some Etrian.
  8. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - (ArtPlay, DICO and WayForward Technologies) Moving up in my list this year due to a thinning of the herd but it still looks and sounds wonderful.
  9. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - (FromSoft) I think Im ready to get back into the Soulsborne swing of things again.
  10. Iron Harvest - (KingArt Games) Been playing the VC4 lately so the schizotech world war thing is an itch, especially another one with such a strong art direction-first look.
Honorable Mentions:

Phantom Brigade - Dunno if it'll hold. Looks cool though.

Copper Dreams - No firm release date, still has that strongly unique locale that this company is famous for.

Disco Elysium - A heavily combat-thin CRPG (aka the parts of Planescape Torment you came for). Lets see if they land within sight of that classic like the predecessor of the above...

Ghost of Tsushima - Maybe I wont be burnt out on samuraing it up.

Heart Forth, Alicia - Still awaiting this one.

Lotta CRPGs in this one. Underlined names denote returning titles (no 3rd year entries this time!)

  1. Anthem - I know that some hardcore gamers are wary about buying into this game after EA and Bioware's recent output, dismissing it as some generic Destiny ripoff. But GODDAMN IT, if I'm not hyped for this fucking game! The traversal, the javelins, the environments, the combat, the graphics all look amazing and better with every showing, and I'm intrigued about how the story plays out. Bioware's experience with single-player RPGs gives me faith that this will have the best story in a GaaS game to date (not a high bar to clear, I know.) Can't wait for the demo to drop on January 25th, and the full game to release of February 22nd!
  2. Rage 2 -
    Rage-2-Release-Date-01-Header.jpg
This game looks absolutely batshit BONKERS. It looks like the illegitimate child of Sunset Overdrive, Doom, and Just Cause. I like all three of those things. I think that I will also like Rage 2. Quite a bit in fact. The Danny Brown VGA trailer sent my hype into overdrive!
  3. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order -
    marvel_ultimate_alliance_3_the_black_order.png
I do not give THREE SHITS about the graphics. ULTIMATE ALLIANCE IS FUCKING BACK, AND WITH A VENGEANCE! It's Marvel superhero co-op beat-em-up goodness with dozens of Marvel characters for you to choose from at home or on the go, and I cannot wait!
  4. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order -
    Star-Wars-Jedi-Fallen-order-release-date.png
EA told us that this was dropping in 2019, so I'm including it! I'm not the biggest fan of the Star Wars movies, but man do I love myself some Star Wars video games, and man do I love myself some Respawn (whose last campaign, Titanfall 2, was one of the best of this gen). Stig Asmussen, who directed God of War 3 is also directing this, so I'm expecting some BIG things.
  5. Dying Light 2 -
    dyinglight2e3_thumb800.jpg
DL1 was one of the most underrated games of this gen, and the sequel seems like a natural progression. Chris Avellone supervising the narrative can't be the worst thing in the world either...
  6. The Division 2 -
    the_division_2_1538252951348.jpg
The game is set in Washington D.C. so I'm obligated to give it a top 10 nod LOL. It also seems like it will improve in every way from the first game
  7. Control -
    modern-1300x731.jpg
The Easy Allies' impressions of this game at E3 had me tingling with excitement. The setting, powers, and protagonist look so intriguing to me. Glad that Playstation owners can finally experience a Remedy game!
  8. My Friend Pedro -
    MFP1.jpg
I first saw this game during the Devolver Digital showcase (which I dread watching every year) and this was the lone bright spot. From the first 10 seconds of the trailer I fell in love. Also excited that I'll be able to play the game when it launches now that I have a Switch!
  9. Crash Team Racing -
    maxresdefault.jpg
Finally, a good cart racer for the PS4! I will be online on Day 1 handing out fades! Hope you will as well!
  10. The Outer Worlds -
    maxresdefault.jpg
I loved the light-hearted tone in this trailer, and I am always down for some first-person single-player Fallout style RPG goodness from the makers of New Vegas (which I still have to play).
And that is my Top 10 list. On to my 3 honorable mentions!
Days Gone-Game looks like fun, and has been described as such by most/all of the journalists that have played it. This will also be the next big hit from Sony Interactive Entertainment, even if if might not reach the sales heights of GOW, Spider-Man, or even Horizon (some ERA posters will spin this as a bomb) and anyone who thinks differently hasn't been paying attention.
Gears 5-This game looks absolutely astounding, and will get the Gears series back on track. Probably won't be playing this game until MS' streaming box releases, unfortunately, since I despise PC gaming.
Batman: Court of Owls (WB Montreal)-I can't say that the prospect of playing another Batman game has me ENTHRALLED (come on WB/DC, move on already!) but it's a AAA superhero game from the guys who made Arkham Origins, which has its fans, who even call it the best Batman game to date. Of course I'm gonna play it, so I guess WB couldn't care less about if I'm hyped or not
EDIT: Oh and if we were able to add TLOU2/Ghost of Tsushima this list would look way different

  1. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - One of my favorite series of all time, and Three Houses looks like a return to my preferences in some ways after the 3DS entries. Super hopeful for what Fire Emblem can accomplish in its second foray into console development.
  2. TOWN - Cute and original looking JRPG from Gamefreak, with more appealing graphics than Let's Go. What's not to be excited for?
  3. Pokemon 2019 - Excited, but also anxious about the series' direction.
  4. Vestaria Saga - This would be #2, harkening back to older Fire Emblems, except it currently looks like it'll be unable to be released outside of PC, and I don't have one at the moment.
  5. Wargroove - Never played Advance Wars, and this looks like a more medieval/fantasy take on it, which is more my jam.
  6. Daemon X Machina - Beautiful art style.
  7. Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition - Curious to try a second Tales game. Enjoyed Abyss well enough on 3DS.
  8. Final Fantasy IX - My favorite Final Fantasy of all time, available on Switch? I'll take it.
  9. Final Fantasy X - Began playing the remaster on Vita, but lapsed. The Switch port'll be a good opportunity to finish it.
  10. Final Fantasy VII

  1. RESIDENT EVIL 2: While RE4 is the unanimous GOAT of Action REs, RE2 was the equivalent of that but for the Horror REs. To finally see a remake of it happening after all these years is astonishing and the excitement is through the roof. Potentially could be my favorite game ever.

  2. DEVIL MAY CRY 5: I'm just so happy this neglected series is at last making a comeback. The use of the RE Engine and the pure witchcraft Capcom did to pull off such amazing visuals is admirable and baffling at the same time. Cannot wait for DMC's return.

  3. Mortal Kombat 11

I don't really have more than those in terms of actual anticipation as opposed to "keeping an eye out", so I hope this is okay and is considered eligible.

  1. Devil may cry 5 - DMC IS BACKKKK. I love the hack and slash action adventure dmc style and from the trailer and demo the game looks so cool. Also as dmc fans the game is really beyond expectation, can't wait till march 2019.
  2. Resident Evil 2 Remake - From the trailer and demo the game also looks very interesting, but the game looks scary for me that's why it's on number 2. I can't handle horror game so much :(
  3. Sekiro - got tenchu vibes and I miss it so much

I really hope that Watch Dogs 3 is a 2019 title.
I can't believe that i cant muster any enthusiasm for a new Bioware title or a new Star Wars game

1. Unavowed - Released, did not love it as much as everyone else who played it.
2. The Poisoned Pawn: A Tex Murphy Adventure - Was not released.
3. Whispers of a Machine - Was not released.
4. Trüberbrook - Was not released.
5. Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure - was not released.
6. Lamplight City - released, but didn't play after hearing impressions, might pick it up on sale sometime in the far future.

Looking at my list from last year, I will be able to just take 2/3rds of it to put in this year's list. Actually, I doubt that Tex Murphy will even release next year so that's out.
  1. Whispers of a Machine - After Kathy Rain and The Samaritan Paradox, I'm ready for another great classic point and click adventure game.
  2. Pokemon Gen 8 2019 - Taking a risk placing this so high since I wasn't interested in Let's Go
  3. Trüberbrook
  4. Gibbous: A Cthulhu Adventure
  5. Sable
  6. Yu-No
  7. Guard Duty

Several of my most-anticipated games aren't dated yet (Metroid Prime and Last of Us, in particular), but...I'm actually liking the look of 2019 even without them tbh. I'm didn't struggle to fill out this list, and I'm sure there will be more surprise gems throughout the year.

  1. Resident Evil 2 - Despite thinking of myself as a Resident Evil fan...I've never actually played Resident Evil 2. So I'm super excited for this! REmake and Re4 are some of my favourite games ever, and this is looking like it bridges the gap between them really well.

  2. Fire Emblem: Three Houses - I'm a big fan of the series, and I'm really excited by the increase in scope that this one seems to be going for. Shadows of Valentia was such a massive step up in terms of presentation (along with excellent voice work!) that it's hard to envision this one not delivering. I only hope they keep the waifu factor at tolerable levels.

  3. Doom Eternal - The 2016 game is awesome fun. More of the same is all that I need, but it looks like they're adding lots of cool stuff.

  4. Wargroove - I'm excited for this to fill the void left by Advance Wars. The game looks incredible, but...it looked incredible years ago, too. Why do they keep delaying it?! I'm conditioned to be worried when games are delayed this much, but assuming everything is fine then I'm super hyped.

  5. Psychonauts 2 - I only played the original for the first time earlier this year, and had a great time with it. Keen for more.

  6. The Outer Worlds - Please deliver us the Fallout-style game that we didn't get from Bethesda, and I'll be happy.

  7. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - You had me at From.

  8. Metro Exodus - I've never actually touched this series, but all of the gameplay reveals have made me interested. It helps that I'm really in the mood for a good atmospheric first-person shooter. I've missed them this gen.

  9. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe - I love this game. Super pumped to find the new endings!

  10. Pokemon Gen 8 - I honestly haven't found much to enjoy about the last several years of Pokemon tbh, and given the outlook Game Freak seemingly has for the series, I can't say I'm expecting that to change with this entry either. I probably shouldn't even have this on my list, but...it used to be my favourite series, and it's hard to not cling to hope that it will surprise me.

HM. Days Gone - Including this in case Doom Eternal isn't eligible. I have faith in Bend though - it looks fun.

  1. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - Anything from FROM wins my year
  2. The Outer Worlds - The dream RPG collaboration
  3. The Pathless - Those Abzu guys are cool
  4. Psychonauts 2 - It has been too long
  5. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night - Castlevania you say? Yes please
  6. Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Still need to finish the first, and here's my incentive
  7. Anthem - I want to believe it won't be a disaster
  8. Shenmue III - Same as above
  9. Metro: Exodus - Excited to see where they take the next
  10. Nioh 2 - Yet to do Nioh, but know I'll enjoy both in 2019

Guys, you need to write the full official title in Bold for your votes to be counted.

DMC5, DMCV, Devil May Cry V = Wrong (won't be counted)
Devil May Cry 5 = Right (will be counted)

Please read the OP to see if your post doesn't have any other formatting problems. A lot of the posts in this thread aren't following the correct format and won't be counted :(
Sorry, fixed it. I put in an embarrassing amount of effort to write that post via my phone this morning and still messed things up. I get the impression the majority of posts in this thread will miss the count if the requirements are so strict.
