I have it pre-ordered so I'm going to be cracking into it on Friday, but my biggest concern is how varied is the loot?

Hey tragic :) Do you know if you guys or PW have announced when the VIP Weekend/access will begin? I've heard times on Friday and times on Saturday, being in the UK, I'm hoping it'l be good to go when I wake up on Saturday morning.
I believe (and don't quote me, LOL) that the goal is 9PM PST 15th, midnight 16th EST, then everywhere else based on those times... I THINK!

We haven't uploaded the final build to Steam yet which is probably why there is no option. I'll try to find out for you, though!

I'm really hoping the game has some neat lore to it. iFirez 's write-up of the previous game makes it seems like there are some interesting things going on under the surface, and I always love the idea of wandering the ruins of other worlds.
Are there any readable pickups or anything like that?
The pedigree behind this is what caught my eye, and the New Gameplay Today segment on Game Informer cemented my interest. The evade animations are top notch, and the visuals in general look great!

Chronos was filled with computers which were pretty much optional but had huge lore dumps on them. You could also find really cool lore and hints to things in the more alien worlds. I think Remnant has similar lore items and things to discover. I know there are lots of hidden secrets, pathways and events in Remnant too, similar to the illusory walls in Dark Souls for example.
Pre-ordered in the Steam sale, though between soccer and just generally summer being my social time I'm extremely busy and not playing much.
Still, I love Vigil/Gunfire, Darksiders is one of the best series still around and DS II was the only game other than Diablo II that actually had me caring about loot, so a post-apoc shooter in the same cel-shaded style is basically my jam.

Nice OT! I've been interested in this game since their first trailer, and so far it's been looking great!
Nice, one of my favorite parts of souls games :D I imagine since levels are randomly generated the story will need to be pieced together bit-by-bit.
