Seems an emergency patch is coming. I sure as hell don't want to be the poor developers trying to figure it out. I've been in similar situations myself a few times in my career and I can say that the pressure to get it fixed and deployed as quickly as possible is quite immense.
How are the 2080ti owners doing out there. What kind of performance are you getting?
Ultra is super taxing. I turned it down to high settings and the game looks incredible and I get about 60 to 70 fps with a GTX1080.
Sorry for your misery, but you are making me feel better about holding off to the December Steam launch. I hope they patch some of these issues.

Anyone tried 4k high on a 2080 Ti? All I can find on Youtube is a billion videos showing ultra settings including all the advanced settings maxed.
Same as GTA V. I know. I have Jedi Fallen Order and WOW Classic to hold me over. It gives them a month to hopefully patch a few things that some of the posters here encountered. Not that it changes waiting for a patch, but in case you didn't know, the Steam release will still be just like uPlay games, wherein the Steam version just launches the Rockstar Launcher, then the game from that launcher.
How'd you get the small graphs configured with Afterburners overlay like that? (the ones for CPU usage)DX12 (lower performance, but stable frame-times)
Vulkan (better performance, but fluctuating)
That said, most of the time DX12 and Vulkan performance seems to be similar.
DX12
Vulkan
I basically copied what you did since we have pretty identical setups (I have a 7700K though but still a 1070 and 16GB RAM)1070

Settings are the default balanced preset with resolution scaling on about 75% from 1440p. Works perfect for me, with the TAA it looks about as blurry as my ps4 PRO version did. Might be a bit more aliasing, but this seemingly giving me locked 60fps? hell yeah. Only issue is that there seems to be something off with the texture streaming. Textures are on ultra but definetly didn't look as good as ps4 textures do.
good to hear. I look forward to picking it up on Steam next month.3900x/2080Ti/32GB DDR4/1440p
Set the game to DX12, maxed out everything but the MSAA options, set TAA to medium and injected sharpening (35%) via the nvidia control panel.
No stuttering, getting 48-80 fps in the "tutorial" snow section and 65-80 fps in the Benchmark in the city.
That's at least playable with FreeSync/Gsync.
No crashes, no problems with the launcher so far.
I have to say one thing about the game: The lighting can be unreal
That's good to know. I was sure at stock settings a decent 4k 60 should be possible from how other cards were performing but it's nice to hear it first hand.I left the settings as they were and I'm getting pretty steady 60fps at 4k. There are some minor drops, but overall it runs very well.

I'm sure this is a daft question but I assume the jump from 1080p to 1440p is a very large drain on resources for your CPU/GPU?

I had the same thing happen while trying to test FXAA vs. TAA. FXAA flat out wouldn't load for me. TAA is blurry, but the jaggies are really bad in foliage and there are angled lines all over the buildings, rocks, etc., so I pretty much have to roll with it.Geez, having a really annoying bug. I can run the benchmark once, but then subsequent attempts to run the benchmark just boots me to the main menu. I have to restart the game to run the benchmark again.
Rockstar hates us.Was funny this time when I clicked play it took longer to display error message than usual so I actually thought it was working. Idk why I keep trying.
How...1080Ti's cant get 60 fps on HIGH at 1440p. Are you sure you're on 1440p and not scaled down somehow..?Game is running fine. Have textures on ultra and everything else on high. Getting 60+ FPS consistently in 1440
